Nah, they're not at all. They just are very strong about voicing their opinions, that's all. They're actually really nice guys. Though I really have a REAL hard time getting past Dukes' stupid macho tough-guy facade.
Ya, I know the guitarist for 3 inches of blood, who's hung out with them (Pretty much means I don't know anything about them, even though they are my favorite band). My dad complains about how dukes is always yelling at everybody to mosh, and he says stuff like "Just play" Or "I am old, fat, and angry, I should sing for exodus!"
Yeah, he really bitches alot about the pit, but if you look at all the 'tough guy' metal bands it's not really an Exodus exclusive thing. It's just their way of getting the crowd riled up. Though I must admit when I saw them live I heard "I want a bigger fucking pit than that!" a few times too many.
Gotta give him credit for stage presence, but he's still annoying, ahah
Well not everybody goes to shows just to get beat up. My entire family is all about the band's performance, not "how drunk" or "how beat up" any of us can get. So we get annoyed when "stage presence" doesn't have respect. I saw them play with kreator, and kreator encouraged the pit but they didn't call everyone else pussies. It's just annoying. If I want to go in the pit, I will.
No man, and I agree 100%. At a show you have every ability to decide if you want to be in the pit or not. If you're on the main floor, you can't avoid it sometimes. (The crowd usually makes sure EVERYONE moshes to The Toxic Waltz) but generally speaking, if you go up to the front, or way at the back, or find an actual seat, you're not pressured into the pit. The problem is, you're right, Dukes is disrespectful. And I caught the same tour, such a great show
I also caught Exodus and Kreator on the same tour, my first show too! It kicked ass! Haha, and Rob Dukes did the same thing with the pit there too. I was close to the pit, but far away enough not to get brought into it.

These guys seem like jerks. Whatever, still a great band, I just want to know what they are like off stage, so I'll buy it.
