  • wow this horse is a trooper. very cute

  • hey ihvent talked to you inforever!!

  • Hey sorry I didn't get back to you sooner! my computer is broken and I'm super lazy about getting on other people's computers ;-) How is your riding going?

  • its kewl lol. hey its going super good lol. so happy got my new horses now i have 3 big bay thoroughrbreds lol. doing more jumping soooooo awesom lol

  • id say so, my horse is a great leaner and fast learner just seems to be stubborn and froget for a momnets time lol

  • Karma's extremely stubborn, but I am too so we compliment eachother well lol

  • yeah, im not stubborn, but my horse surely is. hey my horse does relaly good at home after working him there for awhile but when i take him to a new palce it takes days befoe he is that good there. what can i do to take him to a new place and hope that he can act half as good as he does at home? cause i know what he can do and expect mroe out of him but he is just confused and puts me down

  • That's not a fun situation to put up with! I'd suggest just taking him to more places, even if you just go for a day to let him hang out in a stall. Then continue taking him places when there's not a show going on, and start riding him when he settles in.

Lunging is also a great tool to get him to calm down and settle in. Lunging works WONDERS!

  • sweet, i will try that. my trailer is in the shop getting it torn apart andnew stuff so. my freind goes places alot so i will try the best i can to take him mroe places you know, at shows i cant go 2 weeks berfore and ride him there everyday till he is ready lol. but yeah longing him not are storng spot but im workign on it and will more lol thanks! what do you think i can do to stop him runing out(dodgin) jumps?

  • You're welcome :-) I really think that just getting horses out and exposed to places regularly is great for them to get used to traveling to show. Plus, once you get to shows he'll be a lot calmer, a great thing for riders who get nervous once they get to shows.

As for running out, I'd suggest just keeping him as straight as he can and ride him forward to every single stride before the jump. Then if he still continues, ride him a little stronger and in the opposite direction of where he ducks

  • It's all about just finding the moment where he takes advantage and finds the spot to run out of, and doing what you can to avoid getting in that spot again. You could also prop extra poles off the standards, creating the idea of a chute. I hope that helps!

  • First show him around with out you on him then calmly get on him and walk him around then trot and try to gallop him without freaking and give him treats for being good that will help!

  • hey thanks but i sold him lol.

  • Hey she is coming along great, wish my horse was that far

  • Thank you!! She's getting better everyday :-D

  • hmm, ok i will try t4hat but i got a new horse, so i was using dan cause i didnt have a jumper. but i got a 5 year old off the track tb very laid back about 18hh's and dark bay. will do 3/1 day eventing and jumping!! so yeah
