My great great uncle was a marine in the US army that landed on Omaha beach during the first wave in 1944 and ended the war with captain grade while my great grandfather was an SS and the bodyguard of Dr.Mengel ( Doctor death in Aushwtiz).
During his living, ( died 3 years ago) I asked him about the holocaust and he never knew about it, it smelled constantly burned flesh inside Auschwitz and they were only informed about '' experiences'' on the jews. Even if he was an SS, I still respect him.

My great great uncle was a marine in the US army that landed on Omaha beach during the first wave in 1944 and ended the war with captain grade while my great grandfather was an SS and the bodyguard of Dr.Mengel ( Doctor death in Aushwtiz).
During his living, ( died 3 years ago) I asked him about the holocaust and he never knew about it, it smelled constantly burned flesh inside Auschwitz and they were only informed about '' experiences'' on the jews. Even if he was an SS, I still respect him.

Why do americans respect so much the germans? Not because they're nazi. The reason is very simple. Most of white americans are of german origin (about 40% standing before english ethnic group). German-americans are the first ethnic white group in United States. Germans brought many good things in american society. Among these their love for war and for warfare. This is one of my favorite scene from Band of Brothers. I truly don't believe the soldiers of the Regular German Army were Nazi's. They were just brave men who fought for there country. Marcel, viele Soldaten haben sich auch freiwillig gemeldet, um für die Freiheit des Vaterlands zu kämpfen. Mein Vater hat sich mit 16 Jahren freiwillig gemeldet, war zwei Jahre lang Soldat, bis der Krieg zu Ende war.
Und ich weiß, er hätte es immer wieder getan.

Rommel quoted saying he would like to have an Australian Divison. Battle of Milne Bay, Aug-Sep 1942 Australian forces defeat the japanese for the first time in WWII and push them out of New Guinea. German tanks and dive bombers no match for Aussie spirit. Crete May 1941, defeat and inflicted heavy casualties on the fallschirmjager in several hand to hand engagements. Although the Germans eventually prevailed the ANZAC's made them pay dearly.

No Geneva Convention, no Red Cross, no mercy. Further the Morgenthau Plan should have been fully implemented after war and all german civilians either starved to death or parceled out to other countries and forced to adopt the culture and language of the host people.

yeah...wehrmacht didnt rly like wat they did...
but in the reichtag(sry dont rly know how to spell it) in the year 1945...they fought to the last man...
although their officers wuld have shot them if they tried to abandon their post...but that another thing...i think
