I just got my Airport Extreme today. I am having a problem with the Mac address. It allows me to add Mac addresses but computers that are not on the designated list are still able to connect to my network. Has anyone found a work around for this? I called Applecare and although they are nice, they don't know their shit.

BTW, it works very good with windows, you need to install Bonjour for you to be able to see share devices. Your HDD must not be NTFS or you will not be able to use them with the Airport Extreme.
@dodgytomato1 Yes, it needs to be formatted to FAT32, you can use the disk utility to format the drive. If your drive is NTFS, you will see it listed in your Airport utility but you won't see it listed as a share drive. You can connect a NTFS formatted drives to your USB port and you can read from it but you can't write.
ya you have to reformat to fat32 then create a folder called ps3 and inside that create a folder called photo for pictures video for movies and music for songs
i heard ofusers that they have alot of problems connecting with the PS3 to the AE Base, cause of Nat 1 and 3 problems, and you need to open the DMZ function or something, correct me if im wrong?!?!?!

linksys routers are the worst things i have ever used, and i've used 3 or 4 and they all broke down and cut out signals constantly, will never buy linksys products ever again!!!
can you use the airport extreme hooked up to a usb hard drive for a time machine backup drive instead of buying a time capsule?

You can add up to 127 usb devices (HDD / Printers / PenDrives / Flashdrives). 1 is used by the usb hub so it will work up to 126.

BTW, it works very good with windows, you need to install Bonjour for you to be able to see share devices. Your HDD must not be NTFS or you will not be able to use them with the Airport Extreme.

@dodgytomato1 Yes, it needs to be formatted to FAT32, you can use the disk utility to format the drive. If your drive is NTFS, you will see it listed in your Airport utility but you won't see it listed as a share drive. You can connect a NTFS formatted drives to your USB port and you can read from it but you can't write.

ya you have to reformat to fat32 then create a folder called ps3 and inside that create a folder called photo for pictures video for movies and music for songs

i heard ofusers that they have alot of problems connecting with the PS3 to the AE Base, cause of Nat 1 and 3 problems, and you need to open the DMZ function or something, correct me if im wrong?!?!?!

you have to format to fat32 - ps3 only reads it i findthrough fat32 - but it also then works with macs and pcs.
