  • Just had the closest thing to the old big big Mac here in the UK it is called the "Big TASTE" it was just like I remember years ago two hands needed and they were covered in special sauce with fry's and a shake I was full. I have not felt like that with McDonald's for years. BRING BACK OUR BIG MAC!!!!!

  • I definitely saw the flying saucer in the 1986 vid.

  • I dunno about the size....but some how, over the years the Big Mac definately doesn't taste as good as it did say about 15 to 20 years ago. They probably banned a load of additives that they stuck in the secret sauce that they put in back in the day. Anyone else agree???

  • yeah man big macs were way bigger when i was ten than they are now!

  • is today's big mac really smaller than the big mac in the 80s? Can we just compare the older boxes with the new ones? some collectors must have the old boxes somewhere. finding out the truth will not change my love towards the big mac, but I really want to know.

  • thanks Leo, apparently your Australian Big Mac started out significantly larger than the USA version, and at some point, your version got shrunk-down to the USA size! thanks for your interesting video!----steve in cleveland OHIO

  • folks, i worked at McDonald's in Cleveland from 1969 to 1984, during college and law school, and i can report that the Big Mac is today EXACTLY the same size as it was the...there are two patties of lean ground chuck beef, each one weighs 1.6 ounces....same size bun and cheese slice, etc....only the price has changed, due to the Federal Reserve destroying the value of the dollar by printing more and more....the 49 cent Mac of 1968 is now almost $4.00.....

  • @essessessesq remember i'm presenting an Australian Big Mac, and it seems by all accounts it has shrunk down to the 'global standard size' we see all around the world.

the size change seems to have happened around the year 2000, well past 1984!

the Big Mac presents excellent value even today when comparing it to other meals in the same market place, and it still tasted yummy, it's just loads smaller now..!

  • I also saw a while back a similar video regarding the size of a BK Whopper, and it is also very noticeable the change in size over the years, but the winner of the "size-changing of all burgers" was actually given on the video to "What-a-burger" which it was almost twice of the size of a Whopper back in the 80s, now it's only the size of a single (current-size) "Quarter-Pounder" from McDonald's!

  • it is really stupid to blow up a big mac

  • 1996 in Vancouver Washington USA McDonalds, I ordered a Big Mac and it was smaller then previous Big Macs Iv had. Other costumers went up and ask the McDonalds employees and they said it was the new size.

  • I was just thinking about this while eating one tonight .. man these things have shrunk over the years ... im in america though!!

  • big mac HAS been bigger. for mc.donalds to lie about it is bad enough

  • I never liked Big Mac's. They've always been inferior in size and taste to every other iconic burger with the exception of the jumbo jack which just tastes awful. The sauce was always thousand island and I've thought of thousand island as this starchy nasty sauce that didn't belong on anything.

They're also overpriced! Get 2 McDoubles and it's twice as much meat as a Big Mac but cheaper.

  • @TheActiveAssault wacth your langage

  • @MultiBeastboy14

    Worst burgers ever.

  • You're not the only person to notice that the Big Mac has shrunk in size since the 80/90's .. McDonald's is also wrong when they say that every McDonald's serves the same product.

I have purchased a big mac at one McDonald and found the burger on the bun to be at least half the size of the bun. hardly any meat. And another McDonald's burger to be appropriate size.

For reference I am in the U.S

  • big mac back, big mac back that's all these bitches say I want big mac back

  • It's never really been BIG Mac. There's no way one of those is gonna do. Burger King is bigger and tastes better, IMO.

  • @leokimvideohow much did just the BIG MAC bun cost?!?

  • What is the secret sauce made of and in the uk the big mac has had a dramattic shrink in 4 years

  • continued..... That is the bottom bun of a regular hamburger which IS slightly bigger. I can tell because a Big Mac bun doesn't have the "flour pockets" The Big Mac bun mold should have 5 nonstick points on the baking tray so it isn't flour dusted on the bottom. I can see flour on your Big Mac bun bottom so it shouldn't be used for the Big Mac. What is important though is the meat. McDonald's uses meat patties that are 1/10 of a pound (pre cooked weight) That has never changed since 1955.

  • @AidenIsLove you know of the thousands of comments on this video i believe you have added one of the best, it's a shame McD Australia did not want to ever admit to me a change, as far as they are concerned the past remains the past.

the whole global resizing is interesting indeed, it would have been nice for McD to let the customers know when downsizing occurs, to me that's just good business if you respect your long term customers and have nothing to hide.

  • @leokimvideo Things DO change at McDonalds for sure. I am speaking of events here in the states of course, but the way the sandwiches are prepared has changed. It used to be that they would cook the meat on an open grill, sear it, turn it once and the pull it with juice and all onto the toasted bun. Now they use clamshells to cook both sides of the meat at the same time and they store it for up to 30 minutes in a warming cabinet. There for a while they were even using microwaves

  • Ok, well, I am from the U.S. so I can't really comment on Austrailia, but if there was a change since 1986 then it is probably because the old size, when the big Mac first came to Austrailia was probably produced wrong with the local bakeries not having the McDonald's uniform bun molds. It IS a bit unfair to only measure the bun size. The bun is not important, however, the bottom bun you hold up is NOT from a Big Mac. That is a .... continued

  • I found your video after a trip to McDonald's. I'm 50 now so I stay away from the big stuff and tend to get happy meals instead (I like their cookies). However, I was watching someone consume the Mac and thought - Good God! What happened to it? When I got home I googled "is the big mac smaller," and sure enough - yup. It is.

  • pra se comer na lanchonete do palhaço tem que levar uma lupa para poder ver o lanche se não acaba mordendo o dedo.

  • Never had a big mac before, got one last wednesday and was disappointed, while it tasted alright it was TINY!

  • @MecTecher i still eat them, only problem now I have to buy 2..!

  • i like your voice sounds english but your australien right? but wtf in this video the note your got from mcdonalds was from you :P write back if im right cheers.

  • i like your voice sounds english but your australien right?

  • McDonalds has the right to change portion size. YOU and me have the right to not buy it.

  • @dave0mary Whether they have the right to change the size or not isn't the point. The point is curiosity of if they did indeed change the size and what the motivation was for the change in size.

  • @dave0mary i just want my BIG MAC back, it's that simple, plenty of others agree with me

  • @leokimvideo Thank you for the video. Its completley obvious the big mac today is smaller from the one 10 years ago. Everything has shrunk from 10 years ago. But apparently food corporations think were stupid.

  • Me and my wife found the same thing in England and Hungary although no photograph is available. As a result of this we stopped eating this and went to other restaurants. Maybe if others would follow suit companies would trying their strategy. Good video!

  • This is very strange indeed. Honestly, I don`t like big macs. I don`t feel a respected food company would lie to us. We are not sure, but it is a possibility. Even if they did say ten years ago, why should it change. These consumer affair videos are very interesting, what will happen next?

  • I gave up junk food a long time ago, so I haven't seen a Big Mac in at least 15 years. But I couldn't believe how small it looked in this video. I'm old enough to remember when you could get two Big Macs for a buck, and they were much bigger than the '80's Big Mac in this vid.

  • What I learned. The BigMac had a bigger bun back in the 80's and a box of matches had 47 strikes compared to the modern one with 45.

Perhaps it's a cunning ploy by companies to make more money. Just a thought.

  • Funny video! I don't really care what size they are but you raise a good point!

  • Hi, thanks for your video! We in Russia also have that shrinkage within 20 years since the first McD was opened in Moscow!

  • I live in Costa Rica and we have the same small, sad looking big mac's that you have in australia. Very disappointing to say the least.

  • FFS who cares if they made smaller buns, it clearly hasnt helped u anyway.

Not only that but yes they stated that in the last 10 years it hasnt changed therefore in ur video 20 yrs ago it would have changed alot since ur new one.

how did u work out the measurements to work out a difference between the buns when you dont really have a measurement for the original one just a crappy matchbox in an ancient video in which we dont even know if the scale is matched .

  • @MHorda sorry i wasted my time, this took me 9 months to produce so I obviously wasted my time as well

of the 1300 comments your the first to rank a "who cares", that tells me loads about your thoughts here and believe me they are appreciated

keep your eye open for my next big mac video where I take a 110mm diameter cardboard ring and find out where it fits today

  • @MHorda you care, you watched it and wrote a novel as a comment! :PP

  • @PaulFeistMusic lol when do i state that i was crushed that they r smaller ???i even say that with-in a ten yr gap they probly changed alot, so im saying who cares if they r smaller my comment was more towards the fact he made a F**king video on it !!!

  • @MHorda lol and i'm saying who cares, to each their own

  • why am i watching this?? how did i get here?????

  • @PouriaLDN that's a very good question

  • I want a big Leo now :p

  • haha this is hilariously pointless.... he takes his test so seriously.... haha get a life man... PLEEEASE! we are the only life form that we know of in our universe so far, we are at least 4 light years from the nearest star, there is zero knowledge of an afterlife, life forms, stars, human life, human suffering.... yet you just give a shit about a big mac. OPEN YOUR EYES MAN TO THE WORLD AROUND YOU.

  • @stuartwwillis well it did get me on national TV and from that point I became a well known fail tuber, so please explain to me the pointless bit again..!

you better open your eyes, i'm doing mighty fine with what i see

  • nah australian big macs r teh same as canadians

  • @thegoumes as McD explained to me they have alligned the Big Mac to a global standard, sadly it seems this had our Big Mac become a tiny Mac

I now have a ring which used to go around the burgers, it's a competition ring and i'm telling you once you see this ring around todays Big Mac your will be is visual shock

  • The McDonald's people totally ended a sentence with a preposition! For shame.

  • @frogs2monkey2 one thing I will say for them, they listened to my argument and certainly had some points to make back to me, they kept their word and did reply to me so from what I can see they did their best to explain what is something they would rather forget

i still buy Big Mac;s but I still can't help but think it's nothing of what it used to be, sad as this was their signature item for a while

  • my dad to buy me 1 and 1 for him big mac so i can see if they are the same size mine was little my dads was big

  • Big macs ARE shrinking. i have a old photo from 2002 of me eating a big mac. and it was huge. i was surprised it were this big back then. but no it isnt big. the new one is just smaller. thats why

  • Big Macs are way, way smaller than they used to be. I hadn't tried one in like 4 years and when I got my Big Mac I thought they were joking, it was about 1/3 of the size. This is in the UK.

  • hello, im from the U.S and i just finished eating a big mac one thing i noticed was that the beef patties seemed to almost be as wide as the bun. but the big mac still looks small. then i realized that the wider bun was still in use up until like 2000. i used to always complain about how tiny the patties were. it seems the patties were first to be downsized and then the bun followed.

  • @AvenueD417

Oh yeah... Good point, I remember like back 1996 when they had the 2 for 2.. 2 Big Macs for $2 dollars, and even back than I couldn't but help notice how much more the bread was in comparison to the meat... And now sadly it's even gotten worse.

Sure, some people could argue, that McDonald's did this due to the health scares such as "Super Size Me" and other activist, but it's still not right.

They should go back to the original size, and stay there!

  • The layering of the video from the 80s footage to the current footage must have been dizzying. A+ for that alone!

  • @caseyDsutherland it was not a good look for me, all of a sudden I realized I am a old man who now eats tiny Big Macs

  • i work at mcdonalds and about a year and a half ago mcdonalds did downsize the quarter punder bun from 4.5 inches to 4 inches. this bun is also the mcfeast, mccchicken and the double quarter bun. they amounts of ingredients did not change however the smaller bun does encourage less amounts of ingredients then the bigger bun did!

  • ... made the burgers more practical tbh. Imagine how large americans would be if they kept these

  • I went to Mcdonald's for the first time in 10 years. They're definitely smaller. I devoured an egg and bacon muffin in 3 bites. And their 1/4lbs'ers are just as petite.

  • frist quistion yes next be time be more rough ... second dont visit mc donnalds in demark burgers is smaller

  • there definitely smaller.... here in the uk.

  • Don't you have anything else to do?

  • @GirlFeetSniffer4U i have loads to do, i speak at google partner meetings, do amazing toy reviews and have a job where I work form home, now beat that

  • This is true. I've stopped eating maccas because the down size pisses me off. I refuse to add to their profits.

  • Your video is very compelling and well done and all of your measurements are fair and clever. I'm sure you're right about the size change. The only thing is, I don't see the relevance of the change. A consumer should always know what he is buying when he buys it and in this case we all do. We willingly pay for what we get; our currently sized burgers. If they change again, fair enough, but what happened 24 years ago really doesn't matter. They've been the same for 10 years so yay for that. :D

  • @IamGilgamesh666 you know that's exactly what McD said to me when I visited them, and your correct. I just want a meal which is a meal, not a downsized something of what it used to be.

It's really sad food companies can keep clipping the weights of goods to please the bean counters, smaller portion sizes will always make you more money!

Only ever look back to a time which is convenient to you, not the consumer.

  • Ah my first big mac seemed as big as my entire head, when I was knee high to a grasshopper :D

  • @SalientBen lol

  • i worked for Cleveland, Ohio McDonald's during college and law school, 1969 to 1981. The American Big Mac of 1969 is the same size as the 2011 Big Mac. But maybe the earlier Australian Mac was indeed larger back then.

  • @essessessesq thanks, i would say your right here, McD had all sorts of sizes going on and some countries had quite large serving sizes, the Oz Big Mac used to be huge

it was interesting to see it get smaller without anyone ever really noticing, very clever indeed

  • Will it blend?

  • They just shrunk their burgers AGAIN!

  • I remember back in the 80s--BIg Macs could totally satisfy you, if not stuff you! These days, they are a pathetic imitation of their former glory. The meat has suffered in quality as well. The meat patties are tiny and dry.

  • @bargainmom thanks, I remember that as well, I do now have a cardboard ring and get ready for version 2 of this video, it will really show what happened to the once classic burger here in Oz

  • Comment removed

  • okay, i ordered a big mac this week, which is not something i do that often, not that much of a fast food eater, but i did, and the size struck me so hard. in the occasional times i consume fast food i eat burger king, and i can say their burgers, even those not deemed worthy of the title ''big'', kick mcd's ass.. and as to your question, no, the australian bigmac is by far not the smallest. i didnt do any measuring (kinda weird u went thru all that) but the turkish big mac is like a biscuit.

  • @radovlasic12 from the many comments I have had here it seems as McD said to me there is a definate global standard going on, it's just too bad we had our big mac shrunk a smaller size, but hey McD don't want to talk about it

  • You use to have to hold a Big Mac with two hands and even then it would be hard to eat.. Even one Big Mac use to give you that full feeling to the point you could barely finish your fries. I use to work at McDonalds in the late 80's, and they have definately shrunk by about 35% in my opinion (about 1/3 smaller).

  • @freethrillsdotcom I like that % you have there, it may be closer to 40%, cylinders are really weird once you decrease the diameter by only a little, you start loosing heaps of volume

  • I order a big mac once a week. Then it just hit me this time...

"This Big Mac is pretty damn small"

My parents never took me to Mcdonalds as a kid so I cant say if the big macs have actually gotten smaller over the years. But I can say that I can easily eat two "big" macs.

  • @ItsMeLegit well lets hope McD are reading these comments, sadly the tiny horse has bolted and we have these crappy tiny serving sizes, or global standard as they like to say

  • Unfortunately this video doesn't compare footage accurately. It's easy to argue that: the matchbox may appear closer to the camera than it really is; you can't compare photos & film given distance, angle & lens variations; physical aging and posture; A Lawyer could go on & on - with more characters. But I entirely agree: burgers are definitely smaller. But the quantity vs quality & price ratio sucks anyway. Maccas can't "feed a family for $10" anymore, & that's not simply inflation talking.

  • @evenlyuneven yes your possibly correct here, but guess who has a cardboard ring which used to go around a big mac?

you would be surprised how close I am with my measurements, in fact you would be amazed!

  • Remember it, Indonesia's was even smaller, from visual reference that is.

Burger King was the same, remember eating it in Singapore and it was huge.

They recently opened here and it was -huge. So small.

Carl's Jr opened here as well but they're are big.

Looks like Carl's Jr is the only international burger restaurant here with big sized buns.

  • I worked a short time at McDonald's in 1975....They used to put a cardboard collar around the Big Mac inside a cardboard folding box. That collar (if you can find one) should settle your comparison check.

  • @FryedBurntOut i found a cardboard collar form 1996, it's a competition collar. a second video is in production to find which one of todays McD burgers fit this collar

  • @leokimvideo I can't wait to see that video. I live in the United States and I just tried a Big Mac recently. By looking at the pictures and the name "BIG Mac" I thought it would be bigger than it is.

The Big Mac should be in a kid's meal. Its not even that big. I don't know if it shrunk but what I do know is that it's awfully tiny for a "BIG" mac. Maybe it has shrunk and thats what I'm thinking too.

  • @leokimvideo when is the new video getting released?

  • you know what else got smaller? the breakfast bagels. Those used to be huge and now they're so tiny

  • @SkibopTV our bagels here in Australia are still huge ?

  • @SkibopTV we have only had the bagels just introduced so there is no way to see any change yet

  • I just had 2 big macs with xtra big mac sauce, yummy in my tummy.

  • @19880215 yes it's nice to order extra sauce

yum I'm having a mcD attack just thinking about it

  • I remember weighing a big mac from newcastle in 91, it was over 250g. I bought one today in sydney and weighed it after watching this, 192g. WTF?

  • @poiman99 ah yes buy McD do not admit to this change, and say it's unfair to look back any further than 5 years.

    how convenient for them!

  • I miss ! dollar big mac and 29 cent cheeseburger

  • Man in America today the "Big" Macs are small I can't imagine how much smaller they are in Australia. Go Buy a Whopper or make a homade REAL hamburger.

  • Your totally right, do you remember having to squash a big mac so you could take a bite !

  • @SUBWAYROB1 yes I remember that as well

  • Im from america and have a big mac occasionally, i traveled to quebec city and the big mac was much smaller, even smaller than yours

  • @SPORTSCASTrightnow You travelled all the way to Quebec for a big mac?

  • @SPORTSCASTrightnow that blows the global standard out of the water

  • Wow, Calm down it food. People ain't dieing or nothing. Smh

  • You're right on! The macs used in commercials are much bigger than the ones I eat. I think they they shrink 'em even more when they run specials and coupons. I can clone one now at home that's 98% exact!

  • The Philippines has the smallest Mac, it's crappy as hell and you have to pay more than a hundred fifty for it.

  • here in Toronto, you can get what they call a McDouble for $1.59 by itself which has 2 beef patties, the Big Mac has the same size patties and costs $3.89 by itself with just an extra bun in the middle with some lettuce, special sauce and extra piece of cheese. A Big Mac is definately not worth the money. Just get 2 McDouble for less than one Big Mac and you'll be getting 4 patties 4 buns 2 cheese slices and just add lettuce.

  • @peterm89 wow the McDouble sounds nice

a long time ago McD here is Oz had a huge burger called The Big One, I wish they kept that on the menu it was excellent

  • Hey Leo, check this out, In the U.S.A, the Big Mac has 540 kcal (2,340 kJ), 29 grams of fat In Australia the burger is smaller with 480 kcal (2,010 kJ) and 24.9 grams of fat, Go to Wikipedia's Big Mac page.

So the Mc Donald representative lied to you, Big Macs are different sizes in different countries, Australia being the smallest. There is a chart with all the different sizings from country to country in the link. Global specification my ass!!!

    More lies from MD.

    MUCH RESPECT!!!!

  • @POWERMUSICMAN one thing I respect is McD actually responded to me, that something they did not have to do and I really want to hear their side of the argument.

while we have a company who hates to look rearward even 5 years my efforts in looking back over 20 years must seem a tad strange to the hamburger giant

but i remember many things which were vastly different 20 years ago, McD are in no way the only company re-inventing the classics to suite today's profit addicted accountants

  • Enjoy this video for the greater picture:

    Number 7 Ministries "Supernatural Satisfaction"

  • off couorse theyve changed size, if they didnt you would be making a video about how bad they are for you, so they change it so they dont get videos saying how bad it is

  • @regard60 lol thats not really the reason. The reason has more to do with costs and profit:)

  • @regard60 well McD are very firm all is still big and downsizing is a very dirty word, and that's fine but the customers are generally always right

a very important thing to remember if you respect your customers

  • mabe its big in taste

  • @mariowarcity it still has a great taste, only issue is there is now much less of it

  • @Bossk333 wow that sounds fantastic, would love to see one!

  • The big mac is definatly not as good value as it used to be! I used to only be able to eat one, now I could eat 2 with a large chips!

  • In America, the Big Mac had nice looking clones. The Big Boy restaurant has the "Double Decker" and it's also called the "Super Burger" by Eat'n Park in the eastern US. Same burger, same taste, but different restaurants. McDonald's usually gets more cash than Big Boy, Eat'n Park, and other competitors who created similar burgers because of marketing.

  • key word in that letter was 10.

your comparison is over 20 years.

  • @translego1 yes, it seem McD only want to look back as far as they fell comfortable, I was hoping they could confirm with me the sizes of their product from say the mid 90's

Pretty sure the cardboard ring was there at that point and would indicate a overall size.

I dare say silence is golden...( arches)

  • Too bad about this video.

  • @Nightshroud99 ah yes, dare say it's a lesson that sometimes stunning content can completely fail on the tube, this video has been put neatly away in a dark corner of the tube.

What advertiser would want to be connected to a downsizing story, especially if it's a iconic product.

Dare say downsizing is a very dirty word.

  • now you have made this you could compare a big mac from mc donalds to a whopper or angus from burger king and you could say which is better value all the things like that all in all you should say which is better bic mac or whopper or angus

  • Ok, So mcdonalds lie thats one reason why i hate the mcdonalds people or whoever wrote that letter,

And thank you so much for posting videos like this! I now know what products to stay away from because of there smaller size, less food contents and BIGGER price!

    Thanks again, Danielle <3

  • @cadbrycreamegg thanks, seems no on is prepared to put up a show and tell like me. and just on your user name what has happened to the classic Cadbury cream egg, it's been tiny now for 2 years.

Seems nothing is missed when the downsizing accounting gets set in place

  • @leokimvideo woah i didnt even know they changed! they are dear in price for what they are mind anyway arent they lol

  • Well I thought it was a really well-made video.

An interesting comparison that you didn't include is how many calories there are in the big Big Mac and the current one? That's kind of relevant as well; McDonald's is always trying to make meals with less fat, sugar, salt, etc. but with the same taste, so maybe downsizing works in some way?

  • @Adamstrang there is no info on what the old size was in relation to calories, when I spoke to McD I was expecting them to bring up portion size, but now, this is called a global standard

soon there will be a follow up video to this, I have a stunning piece of evidence which will shine a new light on this video

  • @Adamstrang Thnaks, but the video has been put aside in a dark corner of the tube, almost as if it's a little too close to the Mc Bone!

Considering the amount of time put into making this video and the risk I dare say it's just not worth chasing these giant companies who basically write the rules for themselves.

There is a follow up video soon, as I found a 1997 cardboard ring which went around the McD burgers. A little bit of Mc history which will surely be a must watch video.

  • fuck mcdonalds. stupid ass liers saying their burgers havent changed in size at all. MY FUCKING ASIAN ASS. IT IS SO TINY NOW. COMPARED TO like 20 years ago. and yes its partally profit and them wanting to save money. and supersizing got banned due to some stupid stuff

  • As a kid i remember a big mac was BIG and yeah now they do look smaller but not surprising because companies are getting stingier and people are getting fatter so downsizing isnt a bad thing

  • @kornkernal666 but how did they pull this off without anyone really noticing?

  • @leokimvideo They didn't make that whole change at once. The trimmed off a bit at a time until it added up that 1/2 inch. They're sly like foxes.

  • Comment removed

  • that's why i go to BK.... : )

  • @elias13oso Issue with BK is all their burgers taste the same, at least the Big Mac has a taste like no other. I still love Big Mac's, I just want the big one back.

  • I don't have any proof but I'm very certain the Big Mac has gotten smaller. I have to eat bloody two of those things to feel full. So thats why I go to a Hungry Jacks instead whenever I can, a tad more expensive but their burgers are larger.

But really, what I want is a Big Leo!

  • @MokousSister what is Hungry Jacks?

  • @dowling1981 The australian equivalent to burger king :)

  • @dowling1981 Fuck you thats what it is.

  • @MokousSister Why are you being so rude? Please do not take your anger out on others.

  • @dowling1981 Sorry, I'm young and I thought you were young too, and hence wouldn't take my words so seriously.

  • Everything at mcdonalds has downsized we used to get breakfast from there occasionally and noticed the pancakes have shrunk a lot. And most of the burgers not just the big mac And compared to hungry jacks they are small.

  • 28 people work at Macdonald's

  • @TheJazofski Those 28 are my fan club, gotta love the hate trolls they put so much effort into making sure my uploads fail, keep it up boys!

  • Homemade one: sometimes healthier.

  • they are still super delicious and just as unhealthy, actually probably more unheathly these days

  • @TangyTangoJuice yes they are still delicious, just a shame they are tiny now

  • i bought one 3 days ago and my 1st bite was bread an lettuce so i poped the bun off only to find the meat was the size of a breakfast sausage and as thin as a slice of bologna i had not had one in a year and i will never enjoy that great burger again rip big mac

  • @GrayWulf316 It can be hit and miss, i spent months out at Broken Hill and was served some stunning McD meals, the manager out there even had a few chats with me. It had table service and the burgers were well assembled. Some of the bust Sydney stores need to pull up their socks, some very sloppy made burgers from some.

  • I would say your comparo is very fair, I have noticed a lot of chains making their products smaller.

IMO they are trying to make more money off less product. even though it aint so big, and they should be making the Big Leo burger, I will still buy them :D

  • @Aussie50 I have no issue buying something for a little bit more if that's the way to keep it big, BUT it seems as you say all companies are on a downward spiral of making things smaller.

  • MMmm Bigmac's :D

Shame so many fast food makers are downsizing their products, I miss the original Burger King, before they became Hungry Jacks and changed their burger formulas.

  • Whilst your argument here seems sound, I am a little confused. When measuring the bun, why did you measure it from the curved side and not the flat side? Arent you losing a more accurate measurement in doing that?

  • @CobraRoll measured it as per the relationship of the old footage, the bun is round side up, flipping it over would give you a more accurate measurement, issue is I can't flip over a burger locked up in a old video

I was always generous towards McD in this video, I now have a cardboard ring which used to go around their burgers, it is dated 1996 and measures 115mm dia, thats bigger by 5mm to my datum measurement here. I dare say McD will be getting a follow up video.

  • @leokimvideo Another thing I picked up on with the video... I noticed that the letter written to you implied that there had been no change in the 'past 10 years' Could this be clever writing on their behalf? There is a chance that this downsize may have taken place beyond the 1996 'ring' test.

  • I miss old maccas!

  • @2009Buzza so do i, remember the Mc Oz, and a long time ago a burger called The Big One, and how about those shaker fries

    Hell I am hungry again

  • @leokimvideo Im not sure but still Im hungry as w
