  • virtuoso, pero no me gusta sonido no apreciable!!

  • And tonight on the south bank show; lesbian leftwing dance

  • the best paganini i ever heard

  • Heifetz is the most overrated violinist of all times.Just because he left from Lithuania to settle in USA he's a greatly advertised violinist.Ricci is a Paganini master.I can only compare his playing of Paganini with Kogan's.These two give me the impression that they are demons, like Paganini did! That's the point playing Paganini! To make the others think you're somewhat bewitched or something!

  • Zhujun516, so I answer to your question. I think, if you not hear what Ricci really doing, and Heifetz too, - so you very misunderstand violin arts and violin music. Ricci play "false tones", this is simply wrong. Violin is not a piano, and not a synthesizer. It is also NOT THE GOAL to play as a piano. It is an instrument with a mystic expression, - and to be honest, Ricci play often more clean and correct, than to most other violinists. Especially, Ricci plays on the easiest way I have see

  • I am Ernoe Rozsa, violinist, and short time I was student of Maestro Ricci. I play the capirices myself, and 4 of the 6 Paganini Violinconcertos, on stage, and in recordings, - (here by Youtube also available). I can say, that Ricci was the greatest master of the mechanic of the violin. Statements like "Heifetz is better", - are very superficious. Heifetz never played Paganini, except the 24th Caprice in the Auer-Kreisler-Version. I am sure, Ricci was the greatest technician.

  • @RozsaErnoe would you answer me a question? his skills are great. No intention to offend, but eveytime I listen to master ricci's recording, espacally for his 24 caprices, I feel his notes are totally not clean and stronge enough. it sounds like his bow is floating on the strings, not suck into the strings. For example, Heifetz plays much stronge and clean, and rhythmic for this caprices. To be fair, I'm not a fan for both of master ricci and Heifetz.

  • I think this is his Decca version. His Decca series is his prime, very good. His technique declined drastically when he got old. His sound in slow music is most touching and spontaneous. Well, personally I really hate Heifetz's slides, so ugly. Slides turn serious musics into jokes. But fair to say, no body can beat Heifetz in terms of technique.

  • Did he play the pizzacato part with his left hand only?

  • were can you find this song

  • what do you mean?

  • @bobe346 HAHAHAHAHAHa¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Liszt wrote an etude based on this

    I love both though

  • es precioso

  • I like the way he plays with a some attitude-he just tears into it and goes for broke

  • I don't find Heifetz is better at all. I feel Heifetz's slide is very ugly.

  • heifetz is better? he was pretty much better than every1 else and i think that heifetz did the bit at 3:27 with his bow and left hand right? ricci does it with just his left hand. now even though heifetz was a mental player ricci's technique and playing is still unbelievable.

  • actually shit! forget what i just said. he doesnt do it this recording!

  • how old was ricci when this was recorded?

i wonder if he was so sloppy when he was younger. regardless, that's ricci for you - an unstoppable, fearless, go-for-broke virtuoso.

  • Heifetz is much better

  • Maestro Ruggiero Ricci has been the first violinist to record the complete 24 Paganini Caprices in their unadultered form, and has recorded them since 5 times, the last time at age 80!

He will forever be my inspiration, since I first auditioned for him as a young boy in Berlin in 1987.

    David Yonan

  • lol:))

  • compare this recording to Heifetz's on youtube. I bet your not laughing anymore

  • lol:))

  • Fantastic! Ruggiero...it sounds italien...

I also write classical music (piano)!

    Ciao!

    Ulf Sawert. Sweden

  • :] he was the first to record all 24. i admire this man so much. but his version of the caprice i find are a little too sloppy.

  • Superb rendition of the Caprice #24! Under-appreciated legendary violinist. Among the greatest of the last 50 years.
