  • "Force Multipliers"! Respect for you Green Berets!

  • so how come everybody think seals are better i know i shouldnt be bring this debate up but yeah why

  • @MrMonkeygorilla Easy. Because you hear more about SEALs.

  • I thought green berets were liberate the oppressed, o well any cool motto suits them

  • 5 didnt made it into the special forces

  • Anyone here cooperated with southern europe special forces?

  • Badasses

  • special forces is very effective her in the philippines god bless sierra fox

  • if you were an anti american dictator your biggest fear would be that greenberets can create large, guerilla armies and can overthrow you

  • whats the different between the army and the marine corp??

  • @hmongboy9161 Quantity vs. Quality.

  • @knightdrummer94 ?? be more specific

  • @hmongboy9161 Both are honorable services. One difference is that Marine Basic Training is 12 weeks compared to the Army's 9. Marines are first on the line to go into battle; what I mean by quality VS. quantity is that it's not only easier to make it in the Army, but Marines get more and arguably better training. That's not to mention Army Rangers, Green Beret, or Marine Recon, "Special Forces" from both branches. All about preference really. I'd suggest you research or talk with a recruiter.

  • @knightdrummer94 Army basic is 10 weeks. the extra two weeks marines get is only d and c and basic water survival course. The Army doesnt go on boats so it doest give water survival training in basic; although many Soldiers receive water survival training in their unit. Also D and C wont keep you alive in a combat zone. you get enough of that in Army basic anyway. So the marines dont receive more training in bootcamp. It doesnt matter anyway because you get much more training at your unit.

  • @knightdrummer94 Also if you think its easy to be in the Army youre wrong. youve probably never served. The Army will give you better training and equipment. And the marines havent been first to any conflict since vietnam and even then the Army was the first to see combat.

  • @munkeeman1314 YNo, sir. I have never joined. I am only a 17 year old kid, but I am not biased. To say one branch is better than the other is naive. I have talked to several current/inactive and retired "personnel." I think any branch of service is hard, respectively. I do not think any training is, "easy," either. That, too, would be naive of me. But in comparison, what is the first thought that comes to mind when you compare the two? It's debatible, Quantity Vs. Quality.

  • @knightdrummer94 According to the attrition rates, the US Army is harder to get into. In 2006, the US Army has a 13.6% attrition rate versus the Marines who had an attrition rate of 11.7%. This information is indicative that the US Army is more competitive and difficult. Furthermore, the reason for the Marines small numbers id because of their role, not due to selectivity. The Marines job is to be an expeditionary force for the Navy, not to fight for extended periods of time on the ground.

  • @knightdrummer94 Contrary to popular belief, the Marines are NOT an SOF (Special Operations Unit) nor are they necessarily the ones always first on the front lines. The primary land warfare branch of the US Military is the Army. The Marines are, technically, a branch of the Navy. The Marines are no more elite than the Army and serve an entirely different purpose. Quantity versus quality does not play a role here as you can see. Again, simply a difference of mission statement/goals.

  • @munkeeman1314 I mean no disrespect to any branch/service member(s). I love the United States military system. And no matter what branch or who enlists for whatever reason, I honor them. There are so many factors/jobs, (mos)'s to each branch, so saying one is better than the other is silly.

  • @knightdrummer94 Many Branches not all do the fighting. everyone supports the fighters. they are Honored its just the boys who stick their necks out their farther deserve al little more cudos

  • @spiritwolf50 I agree completely.

  • @hmongboy9161, Originally the army was to hold or gain land and the marines were used to protect ships from boarding and for anti piracy roles. There literally was just a few of them. In WW2 the marines were treated as a quick reactionary force that has a small supply line. The Marines are more likely to be sent on short term missions such as earthquake relief as well as standard grab and hold land. Army training is 10 weeks of basic training plus 6 to 52 weeks of MOS training.

  • Special Forces learned from the Vietnam War to keep a low profile. Alot of their direct action is covert, you hear that they are force multipliers and they focus on teaching. That is not necessarily true. The lessons they teach come from experience. withen a team you have different jobs ,a group of men will focus on each type of basic mission. One group Halo/Haho; Foriegn National defense, counter insurgency, long range recon, water borne ops, and direct action, etc.

  • FORCE MULTIPLIED

  • who dares wins...gotta be a original motto created by the green berets?:D or not :P

  • Glad you enjoyed the book!

  • and i got the book who dares wins! it kicks ass

  • my uncle was a lt col in the green berets from the early 70s to early 80s .

    real pride to know that

  • to liberate the oppressed.

  • I heard that the Army Rangers see more action than Special Forces. That true?

  • @folk658 No, its widely thought the army special forces just teach, and thats not correct they do direct action as well special forces are also taught to live in the enemies back yard and fight the enemy among the enemy, where as Rangers and SEALs are more hit'em and leave, think more like a global swat team when thinking Rangers, SEALs.But A teams were doing Spec Ops mission in the gulf war looking for scud missiles, along with the SEAL teams and the SAS..

  • @harleyqslovechild88 most you guys dont know what the hell your talking about every forces takes direct action some are more implemented in recon some are made for teaching allie forces and gather intell and actually live with the enemy like green berets.Force recon is for gathering intelligence.Seals is for stealth of usually top missions that requir stealth and speed bombing getting top fuckers etc but also dont be fooled they can be on missions that take days rangers are a huge force forfire

  • @TheGloryfighter1000 o ok lol

  • @folk658 You see them doing more FID in Iraq and Afghan because thats there breed and butter teaching and working with the tribal forces, like in vietnam. If it was the kinda war were there is a distinct enemy and 1one to train and work with then it'd alot more direct action mission, which the SF actually do conduct in iraq n afghan ontop of training and force multiplying. There really n awesome group of people..

  • @folk658 yea rangers will be in the gutter and see alot of shit they are preety much the marines of the sf community and are in constant deployment like marines.I know a ranger and he told me how bad it can be but again you will be in action in every force but not as much as most.

  • in greece they are called OYK they put u into shit DISQUST

  • 01:03 you don`t know nothing about afganistan !!! Russian special forces operate in pakistan. It`s was top secret missions at that time. Weapon was comming from pakistan to afganistan. And all other goods, so russian sepcnaz GRU make a lot. It`s just not that spred as mutch as all other forces operation. SAS and Scandinavian Forces make alot hard work. And thx god to Turkish force for supporting in secret missions in afganistan.

  • A Green Beret is a superior indivudual all around. Best warriors that can take up anyone

  • JTF2 and CSOR is still better

  • @Lataraka jtf2 is nothing like the green berrets, jtf2 is strickly combat. so obviously they would be better at it, but the green berrets are more for humanitarian.. the green berrets can be compared to .. the canadian infantry solider, while jtf2 is comparable to the special air service

  • @CrazeKillen Your right man no argue there! But SAS and JTF2 is the best in the world everyone knows that and to tell you the truth i dont really care who the best is i just posted it for the fuck of it:)

  • @CrazeKillen and plus SAS is the one training JTF2 anyway:)

  • @Lataraka they trainined us initially, now we got it ourselves, however we do ALOT of joint missions with SAS consideringthe are our sister unit also the the SAAS

  • de opresso liber means free the oppressed

  • who dare wins the green beret is the name of the book and publishing compant the motto is still the same

  • haha @1:37 is that the guy from medal of honor?

  • Hi. just watched "2 weeks in hell" on the Discovery Channel, love the selection process for the Green Berets. I'm currently in Royal Marine Commado training, one day hope to be in the S.B.S!

I noticed people are commenting on your choice of company motto, "Who Dares Wins", could i ask why use this in place of "De Oppresso Liber".

  • wow, these guys are intesnse!

  • the insertion of special force personnel is directly proportional for the number of fighter they are training!!! damn. what if a company of special forces may be it can produce a regiment size or even division.

  • @IWhoDaresWins haha hell yeah!

  • thought the motto was 'de oppreesso liber'

  • @IWhoDaresWins no need to get all defensive its just a youtube comment. why dont you just tell me its the name of your book series thing. instead of coming across as a prick

  • mexico has good special forces ... so dont say they dont

  • @alesanarocksmexico They don't, so that's why we're saying they don't.

  • LOl no doubt that the this show is american "Best forces in the world" "most unique training in the world"...YEAH RIGHT.

  • @BaFUD notice they used the work unique, not hardest or most difficult. That is because it IS the most unique training....there is no other military organization of other countries that have men that are used to solve democratic controversies, adn become a "force multiplier". IT IS TRUE that few green berets did what the WHOLE russian army couldn't. Other spec ops are for the most part trained in Direct Action, and are most likely better at it than green berets...that why they say "unique"

  • @ownage1894

thats true. The Special Forces are trained to be diplomats and train foreighn militarys and sometimes collect intel. Special op's such as The Ranger's are more direct action and there training reflects that. Neither is more elite than the other they just have diffrent jobs. Thats just the tip of the barrel though, there are special groups such as Ranger Recon and delta who's missions are classified.

  • @ExPILeG3ND I am a former Swedish arctic ranger serving in Afgh 2006-7. We meet the British SAS and Swedish SSG co-op together. I nveer forget those guys! The SAS and the SSG are just as good as any American special units!!!!!

  • @ExPILeG3ND Iserved in Afgh, and co-operated alot with Swedish special forces! Great guys

  • @thechuckyduck Duh-- would you rather De Oppresso Liber?

  • I just have one question, how do they stayed locked in while sitting on the outside of the helicopter?

  • Colonel Robert L. Howard, the most decorated soldier since World War II. The only American service member to be recommended for the Medal of Honor 3 times and within a 13 month time span. He received 8 purple hearts and many other awards. If you have never heard of this man you should look him up, another one of Americas great heroes. Of course, this man was Special Forces...no SEAL even comes close.

  • Who believes longest and strongest. Wins.

  • omg this music...

  • there the guy on the cover of the New Medal of Honor game the beard guy.

  • :55 so badass

  • @Ian3H If you're referring to the part where 4 men sit on the outside of the R-44 avgas helicopters. That's most definitely fun. Two men on either side provide cover fire for the chopper. Used to drop men quickly on rooftops. Similar to Air Assault (sliding out the uh-60 black hawks on the rope). Definitely a good tool for quick drops and extractions.

  • I would join next day if i could but i'm european, damn shit.

  • Europe has some good special forces too man. Which part of europe you from?

  • I'm from Austria, i know but the most interessting for me would be the U.S. Military

  • Austria has the JAGDKOMMANDO. A very good Special Ops check into it.

  • actally you can if you go enlist in the army throught the us embassy

  • Really? hmm i should go there and ask. thank you

  • no u cant im irish and ive already tried and its the same rules for all non nationals of america, i just wanted to join the marines to test myself

  • The Irish can join Great Britains SAS, so can the scotish. SAS and SBS are right there with our Navy SEALs bad ass guys

  • @DarkFoxZero77 just move to the us for a year become a national citizen and enlist!

  • That was the answer i was looking for. thanks..

  • Comment removed

  • and make sure that you're 20, and then you can do the 18xx option, which is Army Special Forces. but by the time you're able to join, you'll probably be in your early 20s anyways. it takes awhile to become a citizen. just make sure you're physically fit, intelligent, and mentally strong, and you'll do fine.

  • I had become 23 last december, i would do that right away but i need someone who guides me throu that process i am sinlge and thats the only thing i would like to do being a solider, living as a soldier, and mentally strong hehehe, i think i am i was married we had splited up and my family dont want to have any buisness with me and im still cool physicaly,

  • ok then. im guessing someone at your us embassy could help you with the process of coming over here. just keep in mind it'll take some time.

  • Don't forget my nationality is Austrian. the next embassy is in vienna or Munich because im from Salzburg.

  • For many years

  • Are you in the military?
