Deanna Durbin's singing is something from out of this world! Her style and poise are a treasure. There are so few who could ever come near to her beauty-inside and outside.
Deanna was born in Canada but her family moved to California when she was a child. Her father's doctor advised him to move there to get away from that "cold, clean" air for health reasons.
Why do all the exceptional singers and great actors come from Canada? What is it? The cold air and clean air produces pure genius. I am from Illinois (land of the crooked.)
This is great! Thank you. Yes, the style is different. Sounds like a lower key - maybe a half step or step down from many of her movie songs. But it does something for her singing and is great! Brava, diva Deanna!
Have you watched Deanna sing "Largo Al Factorum"? It is usually sung by a male, but Deanna really nails it. Her range is A below middle C - up to E above High C.
Very nice version, the tempo is much slower here:) I love this film, Deanna Durbin & Donald O'Connor were amazing in "I Love A Mystery" & I love "The Turntable Song"! Thank you!

Deanna Durbin was simply not from this planet. There never has been, and never will be, a voice to compare.

This version of the song is from the cd Kiss me Again. It's great, but I love the movie version, with the intro by the Williams Brothers, better
