Its supposed to be aimed at a mid/high end family saloon/sedan price range, so here in the UK thats about £20,000.

Now that is expensive for alot of people but people who buy Audis, BMW's and high specced family cars or 4x4's WILL be able to afford them.

Once they start selling, prices will probably drop, and then we'll have 2nd hand electric cars which will be affordable to the rest of the people.

However, GM deserves to be fucked by everyone for killing the EV1 back in the late 90's EV1 was able to make over 100 miles on a charge without gasoline backup WITH NI-CD batteries. And with new lithium batteries, they can't make more than 40? What a scam. FUCK GM.

Because they plan on selling these cars, not leasing them to those who live in a certain area of California. Both cars run off of electricity and use batteries. The only difference in the hydrogen add on, once the battery tech gets better, we wont need that add on anymore.

Another hybrid / electric eyesore! Why do all the fuel economy cars look so stupid? The car companies preach it's for aero reasons but last checked the average mile per hour the american goes is like 30 - 35 once you calculate in stop lights, stop signs, drive up windows, etc, etc. I'm all for fuel economy and not shitting on the planet but I'm thinking Hybrid / Electric Camaro, Hybrid / Electric Challenger and so on? Electric cars just shift the emissions from your tailpipe to the electric plants. That is true, BUT

Most of those giant electric generators actually work out to be more efficient than the thousands of individual gasoline engines they would replace. (they run full bore at peak efficiency) Plus, if all cars were electric we could focus out efforts on making power plants even more efficient.

Coal and uranium are also domestic products. We need not import them from countries that hate us for it.
