@sdseals2076 I know people get confused, but Peter left first, then Mike. Davy and Mickey performed for a time then they too went on individually.
Then Peter came back with Micky and Davy I believe for a record in the 1980s, and then Mike joined them for a reunion in 1996. They haven't done anything together since Justus Monkees, but as far as I know they all still do some sort of performing, though the saddest news is Peter is fighting cancer.
Hey mate! what part of england are ya from? "I'm a manchester girl" Moved here to the states about 6 years ago. Don't ask why? I've been to Burbank, but ya know what mate, I think Manchester,England is better. (smile) cheers....
I am freom Shepherd's Bush in London. I must point out that I have never been to the USA. I'm just a 50 year old fart who remembers this show and its catchphrases very well (Verrrrrry interrrrrresting .... goodnight Lucy .... news of the future ...... sock it to me ...... by Henry Gibson)
I don't think your a old chap, if you remember all the catchphrases! from this show. I think your a great person to talk to. Great to talk to british person. I miss Manchester!! Thinking about going back there to live. (smile) cheers..
Dont forget Sammy Davis with "Here comes the judge", remember the Farkeles, the kid on the bike with the raincoat and Edith Ann. Oh and last but not least The fickle finger of Fate award. Im 47 does that mean Im an old fart too? (New York)
My folks caught it the first time round and loved it, so when ever it was shown in reruns they watched it, and I grew watching this classic stuff! I just wish Rhino would release the DVDs properly, not just a few episodes here and there. Sigh...
It was a book written in the early 60's about a transgendered man who went through a lot of mental hard times before he got it straight in his own head. It was written by Gore Vidal and was considered rather provacative for the times. Compared to what goes on today, it's kinda tame but it made my eyes open wide when I read it as a teenager.
oh, thanks alot for replying, even thought i was not around when the monkees were preforming in the 60and 70 but i wanted to know who is your fav monkee. i love them so much.
Mike has always been my favourite Monkee, followed by Peter and then it's a tie between Mickey and Davie. Any question I can answere, I will! And I just dug that book out to read it again last night...
mine also has been mike to i just love his accent and i think that he is so hot, i love that daveys voice is so dreamy and that mickey gets all excited over things and always jumps to conclusions and that peter is just so adorable!!!! hey one thing, how come people always say that peter is the dumb one actually to me he is pretty smart.. do you agree
and with the chicken, there's turkey to go with the beef,too-the guys were great on the show,Mike's performance on it was my favorite because of the biasy but, I like the other two as well the same way that he said that even though he did, his favorite was Micky
Thank you for sharing these clips of The Monkees on Laugh-In! I have always wanted to see their appearance on this show, and you have now made it possible! Thanks again!
@NamiSuiteheart I believe that Mike, Davy and Micky were doing the Revolutionary War classic "The Spirit of '76."

Davy was not the lead singer. They ALL sang songs.

I think most people thought he was the lead and he is still the better looking one. Calm down, it's just a comment that hurt no one.

@sdseals2076 That is sad that he left the group. I guess he was tired of doing acting and stuff.
