  • Definitely one of the greatest drummers of just not ours, but of all time as well.

  • i like this guys drumming but he must have the most boring job in the world

  • I know that song. It was My Spirit will go on

  • Ok. So, it upsets me that he has those two bass drums there, and he DOESN'T USE THEM!!!! I mean, yeah, they look good, but why not trigger them instead of using the little trigger pads that sit on the ground. I mean, seriously.

  • It's pretty gay that his kick drums are there for looks, and to hide the fact he uses electronics. What a complete waste of drumming. If you don't agree with me about him not using the kick drums watch @ 2:00 and you can see for yourself.

  • From here it looks like he using 2 sets of drum sticks lmao

  • What's wrong with you guys? People use whatever technique they want , I respect Dave for using Heel-Toe , it's a technique to master , which I can't do. And so what, he used triggers for his bass drums, many Metal bands trigger their bass because you can't hear it cleary at these high Tempos. Sheesh, learn guys!

  • @Davemackintoshforce and he starts playing drums when hes 8 and twin kick bass when 12 ..

  • Is he bare-footed?

  • @tomodrum Yes he is.. :)

  • @udleveret I meant is he always bare-footed? I know bare foot works the best for heel-toe but did he always use heel-toe? You seem to know a lot about him. I was truly impressed by his drumming on Twilight dementia and I wonder if he was using heel-toe there.

  • @tomodrum

    No! It is.. Food shoes!

    Idiot!

  • @passionoflovers What are you calling me idiot for?

    Rude ass with lame jokes.

    Idiot!

  • at the end he had a problem with his double pedal, isn't it ?

  • @hanazono31 No. He uses trigger pads. The Pedal hits the pad that makes the sound electronic. If I'm not mistaken, he uses the trigger pad inside to small concerts and his bass drums to bigger shows outside.

  • @udleveret You mean in festivals and stuff he doesn't use triggers? Cause when you hear live performances of Mayhem Festival 2008 or Download 2007 the bass drums sound pretty triggered

  • @terretetetito Yea, you are right.. Then I don't know...

  • @terretetetito Uhh, there aren't any triggers. It is usually the way they equalize the drums on the sound board to get more punchy sound on bass, attack on snare, etc. No triggers required.

  • i hear background music, not like it matters

  • i hear background music, not like it matters

  • I was actuly dissapointed of this.

He is an great drummer, but what the?!?!

    Heel-toe, fuck off dave!

If he really is a great drummer he would have done the same thing with flat foot.

And what the heck? Friggn trigger pads, he dosent even use the base drums, he could just buy himself a electronic drumset it would do just the same job.

Well, althou, his heel-toe is kinda great since he can keep it stable at a those "slow speeds"(yea its actuly slow to be heel-toe).

  • @isniffedsomematrix wut? heel-toe isn't cheating or anything, its just his preferred style, more power to him for doing so, it's not easy.

But yeah the trigger pads bit, I couldn't even believe.

  • True heel-toe isn't cheating, i don't think so either.

But, christ, tis is a shame to heel-toe in my opinion.

And bass drums just for show?

    yeah right, i'm still dissapointed..

  • @krisq14 Whats so bad about trigger pads ? you still play the same fecking beat so what difference does it make ?

  • @lfcbenitez123 I've never been a fan of triggering, but trigger pads are even worse. To take your beater from almost 270' downwards (as is the case when using trigger pads) takes considerably less energy than it does if he were to be playing his actual bass drums. Of course, triggering means he could tap the pad very lightly and still get that same loud sound, making it overall considerably easier to play what he is playing. I understand the need for it, I'm just not a fan of it.

  • @isniffedsomematrix Who the fuck do you think you are, lol how about thinking outside of the box fool, you fail at life.

  • Lol you fail.

Keeping heel-toe stable att those slow speeds ain't that hard, but heel-toe was made for speed, that's why it is a shame.

I think dave should be able to do the same thing with flat foot(watch the dimmu borgir drummer), then it would have been ok ;)

  • what kind of camera do you have that sounds good

  • I have a Sony DCR SR35E but it's not me who filmed it.. I think my camera would be just as good :)

  • bagground music right???

  • What do you mean?

  • What I mean is instead of "background" you typed "bagground" in the video name and description.

  • @tsunami901 does it really matter

  • haha hes playing barefoot!

  • it's for grip.

  • what the fucks up with the pedals

  • there triggers, its to enhance the sound for live performance or something. since hes doing fast stuff its gonna get weaker so its much easier to play with triggers, but alot of people consider it cheating, Dave doesn't use triggeres anymore tho

  • always the same shit does not come out of rhythm fucked

  • that's funny because he and his tech said he uses the 6.5x14

  • I think he´s right(KornSOAD), because at 0:18 - 0:28 he speeds up

    but they are all Awesome

  • He speeds up because fuckin' Herman Li and Sam Totman think they're guitar gods and often improvise as fast as they can. Needless to say is the fact that when you improvise and try and play through scales recklessly faster than the song really is you sound like shit if you don't practice.

  • I find this hard to believe since I have seen DForce over 5 times and never witnessed this.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS GUY!! what a drummer, every1 slags him for just playing fast, but if u dnt like it dont watch it!! i think he's a legend!

  • @drumari0 total punk rock background if you ask me lol hahahaha

  • Thats not entirely true. The beaters still hit the head, theres normally a sensor on the skin sensing the vibration, or attached to the pedal itself.

  • Not in this case...at the end of the vid you can see his beaters aren't up like normal...they hit a pad at the base of the pedal. He may not even have batter heads on the drums. The kick drums are apparently just for looks.

  • actually it depends on the show . . . when its an indoor small venue, he uses those triggers system attached to the pedal that goes to his td8 (you can see them in the reasons to live video live (dragonforceofficial)). For festivals and outdoor he uses the acoustic bass drum . . .

  • yeah whats with that

  • the pedals hit bass drum trigger pads in front of his pedals instead of the heads. they reproduce sound faster than acoustic mics.

  • Apparently he uses the 6.5x14 metalworks and swears by it. I'm looking into one,Been reading some realy good reviews on it

  • he use a 5.5x14

  • there are triggers in front of each bass pedal. the pedal hits those instead of the bass drums.

  • can someone explain to me how his bass pedals work without striking the head. i dont understand

  • check reasons to live (live video at graspop 2009)

  • better than none.

  • 1:08-1:20 He looks funny, but it's his process, and I will leave him alone.

  • bagground= fail

  • hoping to see this october 9th :)

  • Dave Mackintosh a living Legend

  • THIS MAN IS MY IDOL!!!

  • dave is a great drummer. But guys i prefer pearls drums

  • you prefer drummers who just use pearl drums? lol strange

  • Well its commonly known that Tama sound better than Pearl so i dont know why =/

  • The pedals are not even hitting the bass drums

  • He uses bass synthesizers.

  • dont you mean triggers?

  • he is one of the best members besides herman li and sam totham

  • totman

  • damn.. i can barely see his sticks move

  • dave ´´compact dynamo´´.... man he´s a beast... it seems like he enjoys playng that fast

  • he s great

  • bagground loll

  • this man is a monster!!!

  • no shit!!!O_O

  • ...i'd be happy enough to play like that!!

  • I totally agree I'd be happy if I could play just play half as good as him!

  • Thx. Still sounds good even without the back up track. :)
