Googoosh wasn't born in Iran. She was born in Azerbaijan from an azari Mom and Dad. Of course she was an Azari and a suni muslim. She was when her mom and dad came to Iran and after a two years her mom got divorced and her dad raised her.

she is the turk singer not persian... ;-)
