He did answer the question. The "Wishi-wishi-washi-washi", would be an "intelligent answer". I know its funny right?=D

Maharishi actually has a degree in physics. But your right. He's not really talking in a scientific context because the question itself suggested that no one is accepting the scientific research. So he gave an answer which highlighted the reasons why the research should be taken seriously.
