Manchester United must be pretty foolish to sign him to their youth team if he's so average. Just because the kid is good now doesn't mean anything. I used to be a prodigy at baseball at at 11 and ended up hating just 6 years later. It's all about the passion for the game. If the kid has it and continues to grow he may become a professional player. Maybe even one of the best. Time will only tell.

Yeah, he is kind of a ball hog, but he's playing with people who aren't as talented as him. It'll take him awhile to adapt to actually playing with people of his ability, but he'll probably be able to do it.
And making a video REALLY doesn't cost that much. Plus, even if he did go to a ton of camps, he must've worked pretty freakin' hard to be as good as he is now. Nine years old and he can pull off some moves in a game that I've never seen successfully done before, in a match, of course.

Kid has skills, I played US Div. 1 from junior into college with Alexi Lalas and Brian Maisanauve, we had those skills working around people at his age. He's tries that stuff in his teens and he won't have ankles or a friend on his team except the other striker who he does feed nice balls. He'll never get away with those reverse spins. I guarantee half his team uses the word: BALLHOG. I wish him well though United ain't quite around the corner just yet.

It's amusing reading posts saying he's not that good. I've played & coached soccer for 35 years...the kid is very good. I've not seen any 9 year olds like this one. Manchester United must be pretty foolish to sign him to their youth team if he's so average. I guess all these other great 9 years olds should get themselves signed by Man U too since he's not that good. Hard to say now what'll happen, but he's off to a good start.

Just because the kid is good now doesn't mean anything. I used to be a prodigy at baseball at at 11 and ended up hating just 6 years later. It's all about the passion for the game. If the kid has it and continues to grow he may become a professional player. Maybe even one of the best. Time will only tell.

Yeah, he is kind of a ball hog, but he's playing with people who aren't as talented as him. It'll take him awhile to adapt to actually playing with people of his ability, but he'll probably be able to do it.
And making a video REALLY doesn't cost that much. Plus, even if he did go to a ton of camps, he must've worked pretty freakin' hard to be as good as he is now. Nine years old and he can pull off some moves in a game that I've never seen successfully done before, in a match, of course.

Kid has skills, I played US Div. 1 from junior into college with Alexi Lalas and Brian Maisanauve, we had those skills working around people at his age. He's tries that stuff in his teens and he won't have ankles or a friend on his team except the other striker who he does feed nice balls. He'll never get away with those reverse spins. I guarantee half his team uses the word: BALLHOG. I wish him well though United ain't quite around the corner just yet.

And, honestly, the MLS is pretty good. The MLS All-Star team has won against the winning teams of some of the top British leagues befpre. We're really not half-bad...the main differences are the number of fans and the paychecks.
