  • Great Japanese teacher ne.

  • Sorry as you can see I need to practice my kanji the kanji for time and samurai look the same except for the first part

    Thanks for the correction

  • @Madame43

Ah! You meant 時 . Yeah, looks like it. Kanji is fun like that.

  • The kanji on your shirt is used for time. I studied japanese for six years. I learned old school no english letters like konichiwa. I can't believe teachers would do this to their students that's double work. Nice page

  • @Madame43

Used for time? It's 侍 samurai.

  • Konichiwa Viktor-Sama.

I've recently watched many anime and was wondering if the..san, sama, etc is used in daily life? For example, Viktor-Sama, To call you lord? San being a friend! I'm only 13 and i'm looking forward to becoming fluent in japanese and your videos; i love them! Make more! Thank you.

  • salam alikoum wallah ca fait plaisir comment tu a appris tu ca !? c´est drole , grats man good continuations and good luck.

  • hahaha this really cracked me up/made my day xD great job!

  • Ah Victor sensei, ohisashiburi desu (new xpression, never heard. Thank you)

Anata wa ogenki desu ka. Watashi wa genki desu ne!

    Kochirakoso hajimemashite ne.

Omedeto gozaimasu , anata no YouTube peeji wa sugoi ne! Domo arigato gozaimasu, dozo yoroshiku onegai shimasu.

    Ja, mata ne!

Musume san wa (still) onaka ga suita (My daughter is still hungry... Do not know how to drop that STILL in the sentence. Dictionary mentions "demo", "datte", "tatte", "temo"... wakaranai. Gomen ne!

  • @Laura17T

Well, you wouldn't usually say SAN to your own daughter first... but how is this....

Musume wa mada onaka ga suiteiru.

    or

Musume wa mada onaka ga suiteimasu.

  • Hi Victor

thank you...I started learning Japanese this week ...it's an amazing language.

  • im still in search of the ever elusive japanese word that does not end in a vowel, or the letter N.... hmmm the search continues =)

  • @worldtravel101

You're joking right? You realize that that is impossible?

  • @Gimmeabreakman its about like trying to find an english word that ryhmes with ORANGE... yes... i have to much time on my hands haha

  • can you please use some more katakana, it is easier to use, thanks for making videos like this, you'r awesome!

  • @Norgegutten

Katakana would not fit these words.

  • @Gimmeabreakman ok, then i better learn more hiragana.

  • Very helpful man!

  • Thanks for the survival lessons.

  • :atsui desu ne?

    :soudesu.

    is this convo correct?

  • I'd say

    soudesune.

    BTW, more lessons on GIMMEAFLAKEMAN.

  • ok

    if oyasuminasai means

    im going to sleep now

    how do you say

    wake up!

    and

but i dont want to wake up

  • OKINASAI! = Wake up!

OKITAKUNAI! =Don't want to wake up!

but probably IYADA! would work fine.

Check out Gimmeaflakeman for more lesson!

  • i want your shirt!

  • thanks very creative maybe you can teach us in the street, if youre in japan of course. Keep going ;)

  • wooow thx!

  • i just watched all three of your japanese expressions videos..they're all great (even as someone whos been speaking japanese since a young age)! my american friend is actually coming to japan with me this year (i'm half japanese), and i sent her the link to this!

  • Thanks! Check out GIMMEAFLAKEMAN! TONS of vids there.

  • watashi wa genki desu arigatto ^^)

  • You're a phenominal teacher man, keep it up. I wanna see a million vids from you.

  • Check the playlist on my channel and now my gimmeaflakeman channel here on YT.

  • aasou sounds just like the way we say it in germany haha. we say achso, and it means the same thing. i mean they literaly sound the same.

  • Great stuff, Thanks. Love the lessons.

  • hey can i asc somehting erm isnt so desu ne meaning is that so\?

  • i love the omedetou gozaimasu part you say it so fast lol

  • When speaking japanese do I need to worry about how I pronounce words or will people just figure out what I'm trying to say?

  • Well, as with bowing, speaking is the same way. No matter how long you've lived there or studied the language, you can never get it right even if you are fluent in japanese.

  • I agree. It's almost impossible. But you can get close enough.

  • what about watashi mo or watashi ga?

  • Watashi MO is ME TOO.

Watashi GA is just differentiating Watashi as a subject as compared to other nouns in the sentence.

  • arigato gozaimasu!

  • Victor....if I had a dollar for every good video you make I would be a million dollars richer.

  • ありがとう!I enjoy these lessons.

  • thank u, u vids r very helpful

  • Im currently in japan but Im going back to the philippines because I cant stand the RACISM and XENOPHOBIA of Japan anymore...

  • どもありがとうございます。

  • Okay, so forget the critical part of my first post to your first video a couple of seconds ago. This was great!!! You have planned and taught very well and clearly. -Jonathan

  • sugoi!! your funny and cute too...Ja Ne..

  • ogenki desu ka? Warui desu nee. :(

  • well i dont want to use asso what if....well im talking to someone in japanese in america and someone walks by and i say Asso! and the person turns around and says WHAT DID YOU CALL ME.

  • these lessons are awesome, better than anything you could learn in a book.

  • I thought は was only used instead of わ for particles, but it was used in konbanwa... which was a little confusing?

  • わ is the actual hirigana character for "wa". so if its in an actual word its no longer a particle but a part of that particular word. i know im late on this but i just found this channel lol.

  • well the character you have there is not a particle the particle that sounds like "wa" is actually the "ha" symbol which is used to kind of separate subjects

  • this is great i really want to learn japanese and travel to japan, it looks like a really great country

  • I've just been browsing videos and such (Aploosh, etc.) to just learn Japanese, as it's not offered here at my school, and just from these videos I've been more interested and it's really been helpful! =) Thanks, and keep them coming!

  • Thanks a lot for the kind words. I appreciate it. I have a bunch more on my channel.

  • thx ive been trying to find a good ez lesson and i found u haha thx alot

  • Is the female speaker your wife by any chance?

  • YEp.

  • Aasou? I've always wondered that.

  • Thanks it was fun! I live in the city of over 200 languages NYC and I only know phrases in 6 languages, this will help add a

    7th.

  • this vids are awsome realy helps alot.

    you chould keep at it..

  • Like these videos, arigato Biktor sama !

  • Your videos are superb, and very helpful. Thanks for what you're doing!

  • Great videos, love them. Keep it up please.

  • How do you answer Ogenki Deska with a negative statement? For instance if I was feeling bad or sick, how would I answer to Genki Deska?

  • genki dewa arimasen

  • great video it is very helpful and i appreciate the time you took to do this YEAH!!!!

  • really good vid keep it up man

  • how long did it took you o learn and speak fluent japanese ?

  • I really like your lessons.

  • yoku dekimashita.....

  • WoW I wish u could replace my spanish teacher in 6th grade. XD I love ur videos, they are both very educational and fun to watch. I allways believed I could be more fluent with the Japanese language then French or Spanish. Unfortunately I tend to do better visually then reading lol Keep up the good work!!! ^_^

  • Assou = ORLY? , Soudesu = YARLY!

  • how come when the hiragana for konnichiwa is translated it spells "Konnichiha" ? is ha and wa the same in japanese?

  • Sometimes!

  • When "ha" is used as a particle denoting the topic of a sentance, it is pronounced "wa".

  • Lord, this is a blast from the past; I took three years of Japanese in highschool a couple of years ago. I swear, I could hear my teacher saying it all to me again. All the words came flooding back. Thanks!

  • Thank you sir for the very cool and very helpful video!!

  • thanks for these vids i plan to live in japan some day and im using these vids to brush up on my japanese

  • since you live in japan could you tell me how the gov. works? i mean what kind of rights u have and all that.

  • In a comment!? I recommend you google that, buddy.

  • how come in some animes i watch they pronounce the u in desu? like when they say itadakimasu. they dont keep the u silent?

  • Sometimes it is for emphasis. Or to show anger or femininity.

  • k thanks

  • Very interesting... Ha It's funny that I want to learn Jap but I will probably never use it.

Still I like this guy... Victor you're cool!

  • wow thank you for this, most of my friends knows and speaks japanese except me so i'm so glad that you put a video to learn japanese, arigato gimme

  • check gimmeaflakeman for similar vids or the playlist on my page.

  • Thank you this!!

  • LOL Your funny XD Thanks this really helped. =D

  • Useful. But could you say the expressions slowly aswell as normal speed more often onegai shimasu!

  • Just play it again or look at the gimmeaflakeman response. It JUST reviews the expressions.

  • nice video wierd guy

  • Thanks EMO guy!

  • Funny!

HA HA HA He ses it like 3 times which is gud but its funny!

  • brilliant! brilliant brilliant. thank you SO much for these, i'm desperate to learn Japanese, and these lessons are a GREAT place to start. really useful and easy to follow. THANK YOU!!

  • Your lessons are the best I've ever seen. You're fun to watch and entertaining while you teach.

  • aaah oh my god!!! i already know all this, but i just cant stop watching you lessons!

you are doing an AWESOME job!!! <3

  • ....

  • thanks. hopefully i can use some of these when i go to tokyo this spring

  • werid!!

  • Thanks for these! I have one question.

    'Ogenki Desuka. Genki desu.'

If someone asks that to me, and I responded 'Genki desu', can I immediately after that answer with 'Ogenki Desu ka' If I wanna now how he/she is doing? Or do you use an other phrase?

  • Hiroko: Ogenki desuka?

Takeshi: Genki desu. Hirokosan ha? (Here, "ha" is pronounced "WA".) Ogenki desuka?

Hiroko: Genki desu yo! ("yo" is like an emphasizer)

("u" is almost silent in most cases of "desu" and "desuka")

  • I really like your lessons thank you for having these up here.

  • Hey! Thanks for watching!

  • I learned in class that you shouldn't bow while still talking, wait til after. Not totally sure how accurate that is.

  • Your teacher may have been CORRECT but I see it everyday. Especially on the phone....but I think in a truly polite setting...face to face.. maybe that is correct. I never thought about it. I'll ask some natives.

  • thannksss : )

  • i was wondering if we could replace hajimemashite for "doozo yoroshicu"?does it mean the same thing?

  • Yes, in certain circumstance, but it has a completely different meaning.

    hajimemashite=nice to meet you

dozo yoroshiku=thank you in advance (please take care of me)

  • dude you rock i have been learning japanese from anime of all things and actually learned quite a bit thanks to you i can polish it up and can now hold a small conversation in Japanese. =)

    Thanks from a new subscriber

  • Anime is NOT a good way to study! Sorry. Watch dramas instead! If you REALLY want to learn watch dramas instead... OR, at the very least, balance out your anime watching with news an dramas.

  • u teach good

  • is the character for ohayou right?

  • afrockingirl,

Good question! It's actually almost always spelled in hiragana. Like this--> おはよう. Rarely use kanji, but my kanji is correct.

  • domo arigato gozaimashta ... I think you spell it that way :P

  • Close enough. I am not a stickler for spelling Japanese in English.

  • that u soooo much for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • shit i mean thank u!!not that u!

  • No worries!

  • さようなら Not さよなら!!

  • Actually both are ok. Like Japanese say both nippon and nihon. In classic Japanese you are correct ーさようならー, but since "sayonara" is also used by people from all over the world I have found MANY Japanese in real life and online - including Japanese online dictionaries - spelling it さよなら。 Check out yahoojapan or alcdotcodotjp for more examples.

  • Great video

  • I was wondering if, Shibaraku de gozaimasu, was appropriate for women to use or is it better to use Ohisashiburidesu? Is the former reserved for younger women? My Japanese is mostly baby talk (from my grandmothers), inappropriate unless talking to children, or Samurai lingo (from Mifune Toshiro-san) from movie-going with my Dad. also inappropriate since I'm a woman. Thank you for the videos.

  • I don't know that I have ever heard SHIBARAKU DE GOZAIMASU spoken alone.. I'll ask.. and get back. If I don't PM me!

  • Thanks , how come youre there? you work there? .. seems you have plenty time to do this things

  • Teach here. Have my own school... so I guess I do control my time... however, I don't really have a lot of it.

  • I am 17 and a Japanese. This video is good! It's just natural Japanese word for conversation.

  • You're so awesome! Even my mom (who admits she is really bad at learning languages) understands you~! ^.^

  • Arigato, You`r the best!

  • Asso sounds like german "ach so" wich means really too, thats funny!

  • ども ありがとう!! ^3^

  • はい, はい

    そう ですね^^

  • ドも ありがとう!! ^3^

  • These videos are so awesome! Please keep up the good work!

  • These are excellent, they are very entertaining and informative, although I watched the videos in reverse. Excellent.

  • This man is the cutest thing. lol

  • Thank you very much for this. Not only is it informative, but it is also pretty darn entertaining! Thanks!

  • hi, i wanted to ask you a question about japanese, but i dont know where to put it, so i put it here... here it goes:

at the end of many japanese frases we can hear sometimes a termination that sounds like "A I O"

    sometimes its like "V A I O"

sometimes iv heard something like: "TACTEVAIO"

    what does this means?

    Thanks in advance

  • Omedetou gozaimasu! :D

  • Great stuff! I;m looking forward to the next lesson.

  • needs moar desu :P

  • Watashi wa ninongo ga scoshi wakarimas, okage sama de, arigato!

  • You understand a little Japanese? Well, you'd know it's not scoshi; it's sukoshi and you just pronounce it scoshi. :P

  • sorry for that, my japanese is learned from tv and music, thats why i cant write 100% right.

  • It's just Romaji so it's no problem (as long as the message gets through). I need to stop procrastinating and learn the alphabets already 'cause the Romaji is taking over my life!

  • but hey..., why i hear in one song sed "sukoshi" with the "u" read as "oo" from "too" and not scoshi?(as you sed to me before?) the somg it's in my channel, called "Hane", you will olso find the lyrics both in eng and jap, so pls esplain, i dont wanna' learn something wrong.
