  • Hey tssf, would you mid giving me the notes to the background guitar… thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • so you are the famous valente

  • This piece brings tears to my eyes and a warmth to my heart. Very well done sir, its a shame square-enix did that to you. I suppose I sort of understand them protecting their copy rights. But they have not done a damn thing with Chrono Trigger WTF!? They just keep porting it but change hardly anything. Have any of you thought of just taking the concept and coming up with your own time travel tale? Cause that they can not stop you, you would be only borrowing the concept not the same story.

  • So, you're the genius behind Ressurrection music?

I honor thee, ohh mighty musician!

  • I've said this before... I HATE the original version of Corridors of Time. Something about it seemed depressing to me.

But I LOVE this version. The instruments used, and the overall tone brings the mystique of the original, but doesn't drag me down.

  • @chaosd1 you've obviously never been to zeal then

  • @cronochos Oh I have, and I stand by what I said. The place depressed the hell out of me. More so then the post apocalyptic future stages.

  • @chaosd1 but the game is so amazing! and zeal was the best place in the whole game! but i guess everyone can have an opinion. i just never actually heard or know of anyone that doesnt love the magical kingdom which is zeal!

  • @cronochos Well, I don't, so there ya go.

There was something seriously wrong with Zeal. An oppressive monarchy, magicians and scientists run amok performing what manner of twisted experiments on their own populace, as they floated above the world as gods, leaving a whole population of people to die in the Ice Age. I really think Square was trying to convey that something was WRONG with the place under all it's glitz and polish, and if what happened later was any indication, then yes. It was.

  • @chaosd1 you read way too much into it man.. now your just makin me depressed

  • One person doesn't have ears.

  • @Kinitawowi OR one person in particular just like to prove other people wrong (cf. comment of @FlyAwaySpark from 7 months ago) ;)

  • BTW. I just checked out your youtube page. So, it seem strange, but could you finish your arrangement of World Revolution? If I recall, it was never fully, properly completed.

I would be most delighted if you do. Thanks.

  • Hi. Quick question. Are you Matt Valente? and if so, are you the person who arranged this music? I remember several years ago when Chrono Trigger Resurrection was still alive I did some extensive readings about the group. Most notably I read on how the group was formed.

The one name I still remember coming across by is Matt Valente.

  • Over 10,000 views and no dislikes as of 11/21/10

I amend you audience of Youtube.

  • I really like this! I love how this song can be interpreted in many different ways!

  • Absolutely great work!! Thank you very much for this!!

  • I've heard this exact version but also remixed with drums in the background. Does anybody know where I can find it?

  • i love you for this

  • ...wow... this rendition just takes my breath away... you're incredibly talented to make this song. Where can I download the mp3? it's perfect for a moment to contemplate about things.

  • So sad this project was forced to an end by Square Enix.

I guess you made them envy you guys. You should re-form the team that was making CTRessurection and create your own RPG game. You guys sure do have some talent!

  • Incredible, I thought nothing could top zohar's piano arrangement, but I guess I was wrong!

I love how you mixed in the Chrono Trigger theme seamlessly

  • holy crap man is the guitar synth or recorded? That is one awesome lick. Amazing music.

  • bonne fête à ceux que c'est le fête!!! mais condoleance aux morts, ma joie aux mariés et vive le pyjama!!!

  • This has always been my favorite version of it too. Other than zohar's piano version, this is the best one I've ever heard. I love the guitar work. I think you actually added to Mitsuda and there aren't too many remixes I can say that about. I wish I had those guitar samples though lol.

  • 0:53; I got shivers down my back.

  • @templar19 yeah, exactly what I was thinking.

  • this has always been my favourite cover of corridors of time. are you really matthew valente? what did you use for the choir? EWQL?

  • Rofl, ya this is really his channel.

  • Woooow!

  • This remix was the first video game song I showed my dad that made him say "Whoa..."

  • @xdjvenomx Lucky you :]

  • Really? That's a huge compliment man..

I wish I still had the giga samples I used in this song. Ugh. Maybe Xavier can help me out

  • This is a beautiful version of this song. My personal favorite, but I must ask, is there any tabs or such for the guitar used in the song?

  • @Drakaji learn by ear man! it will help you alot in guitar playing.

  • Why won't they remake this in 3-D like they were ORIGINALLY going to? Not that I'm complaining about the DS one, of course.

  • The 3D one was actually being made by a very talented group of fans, and not endorsed by Square Enix themselves. It was actually Enix who threatened them with legal action. That's why there's no 3D version ):

  • A 3D would completely suck out all the nostalgia and charm of the game. What next, voice acting?

  • So what, you're saying Chrono Cross wasn't good? It was 3D. And besides, if you REALLY didn't like a 3D version, you could go play the original.

  • @CheatMasterK It would be too much for us to handle apparently when they stopped some freelance people from making Resurrection.

  • Hmm. I think this is the best song in the world. Quite an achievement, if I say so myself. Hmm.

  • Without dispute...the Best song ever! Praise be the ones who created the masterpiece that is the Corridors of Time

  • This is my absolute favorite song from Chrono Trigger and this is an amazing remix of it. The quality and talent of your work has improved greatly over some of the stuff have in other MOD related formats from the late 90s.

  • Great work, as always. Will you post a rendered version of this in your web folder (MP3, etc.)? I love how you reworked the drums.

  • its only the 16 but you posted this vid on 19? wow. chrono music has the ability to travel time like the story.

  • Uh.. lol. 2008?

  • Wow, this is amazing. This was the most memorable song from the game, and ever time I hear it it sounds like the first. I'd have to say that's some massive nostalgia factor because this game was released when I was 3! I would like to ask you, Tssf, did you ever think of using steel drum/sitar where you used piano/guitar?

  • Nice Job on this Mat.

As always, amazing quality from your work!

    -altima

  • The mixing is a little off, but its a great reworking none the less.

This is my favourite piece of music from Chrono Trigger :).

  • I really love this remake D: Too bad resurrection never made it out T_T

  • oh it made it :) but its private and i doubt u can get ur hands on it... unless u like go to the guy's house and play it on his pc lol

  • wtf r u talking about they shut it down unless they got millions of dollars of their own they cant make nothing...

  • dude i've been listening to this song on repeat for the last 2 days while studying for midterms

    very peaceful and relaxing :)

did you guys happen to also remix any of their other songs? i only see undersea palace and secret boss on the main website

  • Check out Chrono Resurrection "The Music", they're other videos that I posted..there's tons of other remixes :) Most stuck true to the original songs though, unlike this where I took some slight creative license.

  • I did notice the slight creative license as you put it, but somehow, it seemed to be some lost part of the song or something. This is one of my favorite songs in the game. And you did it justice. I'm looking through all your videos of the Chrono Resurrection or Chrono Trigger music, and I'm loving them so far.

  • Nice

    5 stars

    How is that programm called?

Is it for free? If not how much cost it?

  • Kudos for an awesome remake of the song. And Square lost out on at least 50 million easy by canning Resurrection.

  • Why 50 millions when they can just produce a better version and make billions? LOL.

  • If by "better version" you mean a direct port of the SNES game without any relevant change for the DS... I don't see how that is any better than what Resurrection was.

  • Best song ever made by matthew. Congrats pal!

  • Man. I still recall the scenery in the sky village in the Dark Ages. I think this song was composed by Valente, Mathew and originated by Mitsuda Yasunori. Oh, the nostalgia..

  • Well, at least you remembered by name. ;)

  • Oh my gosh that was so hot. Beautiful.

  • excellent. What'd you use to make the original recording?

  • A combination of Impulse Tracker, Cakewalk, and GigaStudio with some very very high resolution giga samples.

  • Awesome. Well it sounds great, I'd like to get into the video game music field myself and this is such a great thing to see. Thanks for putting it up!

  • You did an incredible job making this song your own, that guitar really makes it stand out from the original version.... I learned the old version on piano, maybe I'll have to make some sheet music for this version ;p

  • Dear god, this is outstanding. Corridors Of Time was always my favourite piece from the original, and this version is absolutely gorgeous.

  • Definitely my fave remix of "Corridors of Time" -- the voices made this the essence of perfection.

  • this is great

  • Absolutely awesome, you deserve more props for things like this. Big ups

  • The 1st instruments sounds like a harp, but in original is "gamelan"

  • The first instrument is actually a Piano, but rather than ruin the song trying to find a suitable "Gamelan" (I actually did have one, but it didn't "feel" right) I opted for a Piano instead, and it works. The original feel of the song is there, that's all that matters.

  • the Gamelan of original sounds like from KORG AI2 Synth,ie KORG X3.

Roland SR-JV80-14 Asia has good Gamelan too, but sounds not match the feel. And the original insturments of melody is KOTO,Japanese traditional musical instruments,I think more ethnic will match the feel^^

    Gamelan,Tabla,Sitar,KOTO....etc

  • I absolutely love what you've done with the music in CT, and I hold your OST in high regards when it comes to CT fanwork.

I was wondering if pro tools 7.4m powered version you have posted is the same as the track you released on the website. Thanks!

  • Sorry for being so late responding to this.

The fact is no, the Pro Tools M-Powered mix is a new version of the Corridors of Time mix.

I was planning on re-mixing all of CR's music like this, then releasing an OST. As soon as I get a lot more time that's exactly what I'll do. The original CR mixes were amateurishly done, despite everyone loving them so much. lol.

  • I thought so, this version seemed more refined and crisp. No worries on the late reply, I'm just now seeing it anyways.

Anyways, I'm sure I speak for the majority when I say I'd love to see this revised OST released someday. I know it would make my day.

    Thanks again!

  • I want to know what happend after...

    in this five years

what do you think about it ?

  • touching.

you seem to do this very well. keep this up!

    although u dont get paid...i think =[

  • Wow, great job. Sounds beautiful!

Do you plan on uploading this song to your site one day? I'd like to get the high quality version of this song instead of ripping it off of youtube.

  • The high quality version's been released for a few years now on the Chrono Resurrection site. Check the media section of the old website.

  • As always, nothing but the best from you. Maybe SquareEnix will get their head out of their asses one day and have you guys complete this project for them and have it released on the DS.

I know a lot of people would love to see that happen, and there's a good amount of money to be made with commercial releases.

    Take it easy, Mat.

  • Heh, you really have a nack for what you do. Glad to see you are still at it. Also I was glad to see a bit more from the original Chrono Resurrection game. Granted, it was just the start menu, but it's something I haven't ever seen before. ^_^

  • If Nathan gives me the OK, I would love to actually do a video capture of the demo itself.

Though it would probably gain some unwanted attention.

  • Which is perfectly understandable. I'm pretty sure that's covered somewhere in a part of the C&D letter from Square. I imagine that'll be under lock and key for... heh, ever.

    Heh, anyway... no worries. =)

  • Hope you don't mind me bumping our convo... but I think Nathan beat you to it. There's a video of the start of the game with a timegate skipping to the battle on zenan bridge. Not sure if that is Nathan or not, but never the less...

  • Very nice. Keep up the good work, and never forget!
