this build is a gaming htpc. A regular htpc build is the norm (streaming, torrenting, etc). To make it somewhat capable of gaming I can look into energy efficient graphic cards.(at the time I made this a9800 gt was the norm.) So depending on what you want it to do makes the cost fluctuate.

Looks very nice, one small question, did you do anything to the blocks to give them some sort of heat protection for the off chance that something goes and ends up overheating?

Nah, The computer would have to get crazy hot for it to spontaneously com-bust the wood. I have another wooden mod built the same way and it hasn't caught fire in the 16 months i have had it :)

Oh wow this is just as impressive as the original mage case. Did you consider making the eyes glow when you turn it on? That would be badass!

I tried to make them glow but since the mushrooms eyes are black i had to use black stain glass and I couldnt get any LED's to penetrate through it. I tried though
