easiest to read? Get the hell out of there!! Have u ever read any other existentialist... or have u ever tried to read The Myth of Sisyphus?
Well buddy, t i can guarantee u to that camus is hard to read, of course if u are try to finish it all in one breath i have no words but if u aim to be inured it u have to pay attention and expend your mind energy.
At last , i feel debted to myself if i dont tell u that what is that sound(music)?
@LaGazzaLadra0 a) the myth of sisyphus is far easier to read than being and nothingness, and b) that music is common, as in the artist. to say that it's merely sound shows just how ignorant you are.
@kyledavidmorgan correct. but no true artist/philosopher fancies labels. nonetheless, we (as consumers of art and literature) use them to categorize such people. and since that's so, it's very difficult to say that camus' ideas don't fall under the same category as other existentialists.
Do you read Camus in French? You said you liked his writing style and i was wondering whether you read the original text or a translated english version.
@krounds12 Yes, it is essentially the same message but sometimes certain impressions or ideas get lost in a translation. I was just wondering about the writing style itself. There, the language obviously makes a huge difference.
I agree, Camus writes in a style that is accessible not for it's lack of depth, but for it's somewhat universal depiction of what existentialism provides for humankind. What is more natural in flavor is easier to consume.
I am a fan of Camus' work as well. I need to ask. In what way has absurdism influenced you? Has it inspired you to create your own meaning, or to live life without appeal?
Or with the 'outsider'. Does living life without hope or ambition make us live day to day with passion? Is it even possible to 'live for the moment'?
Despite what wikipedia, and quotes from the late great Camus himself, might tell you, Camus was an Ex. People have the tendency to believe if someone is incredibly gifted in one area (as AC was in writing) than they are gifted in all areas. Well, it may just happen Camus wasn't especially great at categorizing himself. Or, maybe he feared Absurdism would be used interchangably with Ex. so he distanced himself. Either way he was an Ex - and a great one at that
"There is but one truly serious philosophical problem, and that is suicide. Judging whether life is or is not worth living amounts to answering the fundamental question of philosophy." -- Albert Camus
Post more videos! I totally agree with you on Sartre..he was an elitist who was obsessed with technicalities, and his philosophy was all over the map and full of contradictions. A philosophical text should be to the point, logical, and have things that people can apply to their everyday lives. And, like you said, no one has accomplished that better than Camus!
I just have to say that existentialism and absurdism may be similar but are quite different

i am reading L'etranger in the original French; thus far has Provence to be most insightful existentialist novel ever.

@BARCACROSSESTHEALPS Yeah, that is what is nice about Camus. He is much easier to read than Sartre and especially Heidegger.

I think he (like Neitzsche) wouldn't want to label himself, with a label not created by himself.

exactly exactly, sarte was just too damn academic for most of us while camus was accessible to everyone. good vid, dog.

Sad thing is that Albert Camus is nowadays in the shade of Sartre, Sartre is far more famous, but I do not think that deservedly
