  • What's the song that starts at 1:16 I want to know so I can find it and by whom?

  • It cracked me up at 4:08 when Raoul is trying to break down the mirror. lmao

  • This is quite a movie. Though the Phantom doesn't look as creepy as he does in other film adaptations of the story.

  • @MDthornton83 Not yet in this scene.

  • @MyCoffeeLove In the 1989 film, the Phantom was played by Robert Englund, (Freddy Kruegger) and he was absolutely freaky.

  • what is that thing over his mouth....noticed it before...

  • the persian is verrryy disturbing

  • 05:48 I love her face.. "wtf o.o" hahahaha

  • Lid scream to if i were christine with a freakish man that takes you through the mirror

  • Looks like thats where webber got his chandelier........

  • it was a video with another music, and with singing too!!!!((((((((((((

  • The Phantom is not supposed to be sexy or handsome, but rather mysterious and creppy. He is a "monster", not some attractive man.

Amazing what Chaney did with this character. AMAZING.

  • I heard Lon Chaney put paper clips in his nose to make it big and put cottonballs in his cheeks to make it cheeky. That is how he is creepy. he also did those tricks in other films

  • @9021062 As far as it is known, he didnt implant anything( while he did as Quasimodo). He used a strip of animal glut glued to the tip of his nose, pulled upwards and backward, then glued to the ridge of his nose and forehead.Adhesive and cotton was used to shape the cheeks from outside, and he glued his ears flat. Gutta-percha(rubber material used by dentists) was used for the teeth. Apart from a cap to heighten his hairline and a wig of course, the rest was done with paints.

  • The Persian lives! Take that, remakes!

  • ah k ricas las del balet pa darle por el culo.:!!

  • I was like "What the heck?" when I saw his mask. This version is scary. Lol. The 2004 version of the Phantom (Gerard Butler) brings alot of sexual tension and a romantic mood to the film. Chaney is just creepy. Which is awesome. =D

  • @Pretoriafly In my opinion it's better this way since in the novel, Erik is supposed to look along the lines of how Lon Chaney appears in this version.

  • yeah In book Christine practically ODed lol.

  • @beautifuldreamer80 Yeah on his voice and charismaxD

    sexy<3

  • 4:47

It looks like Erik has something in his mouth. It's all weird and splotchy there.

  • at 5:56, Christine looks drugged. what is going on. She is suppose to be mesmerized not high

  • Actually, in the book, she is drugged.

  • these effects are pretty good considering what resources they had back then

  • persian dude is master of the stink eye

  • lol Christine looks drunk and evil at the end xD

    it's funny

  • I love how the Persian always looks so sketchy in this movie!

  • he has a ugly mask LOL

  • Comment removed

  • this is an awesome movie its amazing how this is still an amazing movie without crazy special effects and for that matter actual dialogue

  • well .. it's a bit different compared with the newest film but i still like it. i like that kind of stuff .. old movies and such things .. u know :)

  • I like at 4:01 where Christine is like la la la... and Raoul's totally freaking out

  • Wow Andrew Lloyd Webber's version is pretty daang close to this one

  • I like this one better, just because it's closer to the novel

  • I believe if you watch this in the dark, no lights. I mean, NO LIGHTS, and no sound. it gets really creepy, because you see this "masked" person coming towards you.

  • trivia: Lon Chaney put egg membrane on his eyeballs to give them a cloudy look.

  • Really? That seems like that must have hurt!

  • no argument here

  • Suspenseful than the 1943 remake.

  • anyone have a link to the text slides or music scores?

  • Are those his real eyes behind on the mask? Creepy...

  • The set at 6:57 looks a lot like one of the scenes used in the old 1940s Frankenstein movie...

  • luv the expression of raouls face from 1:09 to 1:11 lol! its like.. sudden woah!! funny...

  • I love silent films!!!! My two favorite actors are Lon Chany & Fay Ray! (I know Fay Wray is not a silent movie actress) I used to own the phantom silent film on DVD but I lost it! =-(

  • wow those people run fast

  • that's allways with silent movies.

  • Is there coming more? this is not all
