Jorge is one of my heroes!! The first time i watched a doble cabriole derriere this good was his. No wonder why all of the young cubans have so good cabrioles. where is he teaching? Is atill in Houston?
I moved to Havana in 1991 to study at havana University, and i had the enormous pleasure, as a ballet addicted, to see Alicia Alonso dancing her last ballets...Totally blind, and slower, she managed to create a magical atmosphere on stage that i've never seen in anybody else. It was MAGIC.
I totally agree with you 'vedetisima'. Miss Alonso is a real genius. She was 65 yrs old in this recording and almost blind. How can she dance like that? The only explanation is because she was a genius, she is a genius. God bless her.
Hard, hard, hard work, an undying love for ballet and an addiction to the allure of the stage and the standing ovations of an adoring audience. That, and the knowledge of being the only and longest dancing Prima Ballerina Assolutta in the entire world!

It is hard to believe that Miss Alonso is 65 yrold here in this ballet. It escapes my comprehension, how can she do that? Amazing! I have never seen anyone like her.
Feliz Cumpleaños Jorge Esquivel
