  • Here in Ecuador everything is different, cable is cheaper, provides more channels by dolar spent and both provide pvr, however some people have told me that satellite quality is much better than cable. Is it? Both claim excellent quality for SD channels AND 1080p, dolby 5.1 for hd channels... Should I switch to cable?

  • There is much more compression on copper wire plus Cable lacks reliability. I don't know about Fiber but a lot of compression is bull shit. Make your own choice but Satellite is best.

  • This is nothing but advertising!

  • A geostationary satellite orbits the earth at over 22 thousand miles above the earths surface. In order for satellite providers to send their video feed from space, they have to compress their signals. Satellite uses the most compression of any provider out there (fiber, cable). It all has to do with bandwidth. When it comes to internet speeds, it goes Fiber Optic, Cable, Satellite. Satellite internet is capable of around 1.5mb. What makes you think their HD video is going to be any different?

  • We were paying $60/month for 60 standard-def channels on cable. But on Dish Network, we pay $55/month for 200 high-def channels, plus the Dish Network DVR is better. And during the install, the local satellite co. that installed our DN called to make sure it was going alright. Classy company.

  • cool page

  • bullshit..cable tv can have more channels than satellite tv..depends on ur provider..

  • Satelite saves money. I dont think so. Nothing saves money! The economy is shitty! Oh and does satelite have over a thousand on demand choices? No satelite has pay-per-view so u have do go on the channels time not ur time. If satelite is trying to compete with cable cable beat them to the punch with on demand. And alot of the stuff is free that is on demand on cable.

  • @bakedpotato1678 only dish network saves money =) come on people 39.99 for 120 channels which are NOT the same thats nice

  • @Thenicedude3 I disagree. I have cable and its cheaper....... It also gets a better signal. And satellite dosent have over 1000 on demand choices or on demand at all. I think cable is a better value. Satellite is junk. And 30 bucks for a 120 channels? Come on I have 900 and its only 90 bucks. Beat that!

  • @bakedpotato1678 LOL does your cable (the basic) triple play have all commercial free channels NO! you have to pay for on demand movies. dish basic dont have movie channels but still they offer 300 channels which are not the same including hbo cinimax showtime and more for 100 dollars. i have cable internet and phone but the tv is alright but i switched to dish because i a;so wanted international channels which cable cant offer

  • @Thenicedude3 You dont do much research do you. I do have alot of commercial free channels. And you dont have to pay for every movie! Only newly released . So before you start guessing you should do a little more research.

  • @bakedpotato1678 ok w.e its a draw

  • @bakedpotato1678 1000 channels? really the basic dish goes up to 9000 top that! actullay cable goes up to 235 channels of diffrent ones the rest of the 765 is pay per view, same channels as the 235 cable offers! dish is the same with all that so get your facts straight!

  • What about the people without credit cards? Score one for cable. Both are great though. You can have a DVR with cable too now and sports packages have been around for awhile with Comcast. I do agree with the prices getting really jacked up.

  • BULLSHIT!

  • Satellite has a 100% digital signal. Well cable does too. In fact, they transmit their signal twice, once in analog and once in digital so that everyone can enjoy TV. No doubt satellite has more channels, including sports packages. They pay big bucks to keep it exclusive to satellite. Free installation, free equipment? Definitely, if you sign a contract which you might end up regretting down the road when you're not satisfied with your service. And also, a DVR is not exclusive to satellite.

  • i hate cable because they are always jacking up my bill, and they're customer service is lacking. i cant get it where i just moved in georgia, but im not too bummed about it.

  • Hey wow you know that too that CABLE has a 100% Digital Signal wow and here I thought I was the only one too lets make fun of her some more now lol holy crap do the expect us to (oh this is a good one Snap!) Beye that.... well some might that must be like 5% of people but then again Satellite has to fight back some how right I'd just go with they both have pros and con's but hey here's a trick DO GET EITHER of em... That's wat I do heh heh :) come on ppl's lets let them control us more.

  • @HellBoyAKABadBoy no cable is not 100% it has like 70 channels that or anlog if it was 100% Digital Signal thear me no anlog feeds
