  • Okko Diablo or Twin Sonic?

  • The whammy bar seems a little redundant when you can bend the neck that much, and it would probably knock the whole thing out of tune. I love the resonance the metal of it adds to the sound though. Very fresh.

  • where are the melody maker original pickups? i like those more

  • this guitar has been converted by the pre-owner (and sounds great)

  • you have made a crestwood

  • wow, this guitar sounds amazing! Love the tone of those minihumbuckers! Great playing also... I don't really like the Okko Diablo a lot - bought it the other day but soon switched back to the Xotic BB-Plus which sounds rounder and tighter than the Okko in my ears. Surely a matter of taste, but no matter how I tweaked the knobs, the Okko always had a little harshness in the top end I didn't like.... Yet, the Twin Sonic here in this video sounds very good the way you use it!

  • @SonicStrings What was the real problem with your Diablo?

  • That's a great sound you're getting out of that guitar there. I'd be too scared to rout one of those for mini hums, but it sure sounds great!

  • good enough for me! thx. btw, do you know Eric Johnson? He is a friend of mine. If you know him you should tuen him onto this pedal. If u don't know him try to meet him next tiem he's in Europe and maybe give him a few to try out. He's a really nice guy and I'm sure if he started using them they'd boost their sales tremendously. thax again. keep on rockin'!

  • wow. wonder what that thing cost new, $175 maybe? sounds great with those minis though. can you even tell what kind of wood the body is? looks like rosewood fretboard but can't tell much more. do you have any early '70's LP's with mini humbuckers?

  • It is a Epi form the 60ths made by Gibson! mahogany body. I do not have any 70s LP anymore

  • I still have a 1971 Goldtop with mini-humbuckers that is still the sweetest guitar I have ever owned. It has only gotten better and better with age. Is there a reason you don't have anymore '70's era Les Pauls? did you not care for them?

I have another question for you but the posting restriction has cut me off so I'll continue with a second one.

  • Les Paul Deluxe are great guitars. I will get me another one when I find a good one

  • My second question is this:

I came across your name when I was researching the OKKO Diablo. I really like the sound you get with them and was wondering if you think they are truly worth the money? Please be honest. I can't really afford to plunk down 300 bucks plus shipping right now. As I've said, you make them sound great, but from what I've seen of your videos you could plug in a huge turd and make it sound good.

Still searching for the "holy grail" of tone. your admirer in Texas!

  • If I don't think that the Diablo is the best Overdrive pedal ever - I would not play it on every gig!!!

  • actually, it's a mid-60s Epiphone Olympic, to which someone has added two mini-humbuckers and altered the pickguard to make them fit. i'm guessing it was originally a one pickup model?

  • correct!

  • i have a question. i have a gibson sg with a same tremolo unit and i don't have the arm of it. is the unit good? i've heard that it puts the guitar out of tune vwry fast. so can you tell my your opinion.

  • the unit is like sh... I use the wrap around bridge on this guitar

  • Hey Gregor. I love your videos. Thanks for taking the time to post all of them.

What model of Epi is that? Is it a newer model?

  • this is a guitar from the 60ths - I think it is a wilshire

  • love it
