  • Oh my goodness I got to 20 seconds and had to stop, poor thing! I'm 2 days overdue with my first baby and I nearly started crying just now. I hope he's doing okay now and hope I never hae to hear this with my son.

  • Heartbreaking! Couldnt watch more than a few seconds.hope he is doing okay. Wishing you and your baby the best

  • oh thats horrible! poor baby, my aunt died of the same when she was 18 months. that was 1928 though. dont make fun people. its an awful thing.

  • @DENAANN1000 sadly babies are still dying from this :(

  • Hi there:( poor thing! I can't bare to watch the rest:( I keep thinking my son has a slight cough?:/ I wanted to know what the very very early signs of pertussis was for your child? I've already been vaccinated 5 years ago and am thinking I should go in to get a booster now even tho it lasts 10yrs . I've had a cold but I'm the only babysitter for my son because we don't hvlave ananyone to help.... he's only month old :( ahhh unless I'm just a paranoid new mom because this is my first child?

  • @StarsComplex Jaxson started with everyday cold symptoms, runny nose, little cough, a little bit off a temperature cough just got worse and worse. I'm from the uk and we don't get a booster so i really don't no to much about it. sorry i couldn't help you with that xx

  • Oh this breaks my heart! I hope your son gets better. My son is 6 weeks old. I'm just looking up things that can happen to him if I'm not careful. Thank you so much for this video it really helps.

  • @fuglychick21 Jaxson will be celerbrating his 1st birthday in 2 wks :) he is better now but seams to catch every bug going. i'm glad the video helps people, makes me feel better as i felt awful at the time having to film him. and congrats on the birth of your little boy :) xx

  • poor baby

  • He will cough so bad and turn deep redish purple in the face and then blue around his lips, he cant catch his breath, he is always worse at night. They keep him for a few days then send him home cause his stats will look ok but I keep telling them he cant breath when he starts to cough like that, his poor belly retracts when hes breathing so hard and he is soooo misserable! He is to little and he cant hardly handle the coughing fits when he goes into them!

  • @jstover25 The only thing i can really suggest that you do is film your son's coughing & show them. i'd also ask for them to do another nasal swab to test 4 w/c. Jaxson got sent home so many times it wasn't until i filmed him coughing that we actually got taken seriously. It's so worrying/scary/heartbreaking watching your baby go though this, i hope he gets better soon. ((big hug)) let me know how he goes on x

  • This is exactly what my 7 week old son sounds like! I have had him at Children's Hospital 2x in the last 2 weeks and they have admitted him first for 4 days they tested him and said it wasnt pertusis or whooping cough but broncialitus and then sent him home, we was only home one day and he did the cough seriously bad and turned blue, I called 911 and they rushed him to Childrens he was admitted and released next day but he is still really bad and im scared cause he sounds just like your baby!

  • Ahh... Poor baby...

  • how did i get here from snoring videos

  • :( poor sweetie pie. I hope he gets better :,(

  • Agh, that's the worst sound in the world....

  • Poor little dude

  • Aw what a poor little mite. I hope he is okay. Thank you for uploading this and bringing knowledge of this to us...especially first time Mum's. Bless your little one xxxx

  • Thats heart breaking.... I cant imagine going through that with such a small baby... pertussis is no joke thats awesome you posted this it could definitely help another family..

  • This baby is cute like a majority of cute babies.

  • aw, poor thing! glad he's doing better now :3 i searched for whooping cough videos because my little Sahara woke up with a cough today :(

  • @ilikefosters......what was done as far as treatments and symptom relief. my son is only 4weeks and the bed elevation, humidifier and saline drops with suction really is not doing anything. I am very interested in your course of treatment and symotom reilfs that worked. thank you so much and I am glad your baby is better.

  • @lilsnortbugz Hi, when Jaxson finally got diagnosed with whooping cough WE ALL went on a cause of antibiotics, before the diagnoses he just had saline drops and paracetamol which didn't do anything. The antibiotics do not help a baby/child/person get better from whooping cough it just helps to stop the spread of infection. Their is really not alot to help they basically just have to ride it though while you pray it doesn't get even worse :( has your baby been diagnosed with w/c ?

  • So stupid of the docters to send home a baby that coughs like that. Sounds terrible. Poor little baby. :( Hope everything went fine.

  • What a precious little fellow, he is so cute. I am so glad he recovered. It was horrible to watch him being so ill.

  • @JDferret47 f*cking troll.

  • Gosh, thanks that he is alive. Poor little thing...what a bad time he had. I'm so glad that he got better.

  • 2 mothts

  • my baby sister have the same thing and she is in the hospital

  • @jakyfraze i'm so sorry to hear that your family are having to go though this, i no it will be a difficult time for you all. how old is your sister ? i wish her a speedy recovery x

  • i couldnt even watch a full minute of this, much less the whole thing! =( poor baby... did the sickness cause his coloring to get like that (yellow on top, red on bottom) or was it the lighting? Anyways, this video almost made me cry, the only reason i didnt was because I knew he is all better now. I am very glad he recovered =)

  • @brynblue93 ...the lighting on the clip isn't that good, when jaxson had a coughing fit his face would turn bright red as he stuggled to cope & his lips would turn blue as it came towards the end the colour just drain from him and he would go white. i'm also glad he recovered, thanks :) x

  • @JDferret47 your a real peice of work, I hope you get really sick!

  • @JDferret47 NOW LISTEN HERE ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I happen to know this baby, and I happen to know he's doing amazing now! He's a smart and STRONG little fellow. Who the f*ck do you think you are??? HE'S A HUMAN BEING... He was suffering, and how DARE you make such a heartless comment like that.. Your mother ought to be ashamed of you. Heaven forbid you ever have a child of your own who ends up this sick.

  • @youbelong2me I haven't even looked at JDferrets comments and i refuse to whatever he/she said doesn't even deserve the attention he/she so desperetely wants. I hope this beautiful baby is much much better poor thing.~

  • @JDferret47 you sick fooker!!!! i hope you die! painfully and slowly!!!!

  • @JDferret47 ... no he is not dead, unlike what you would be if i knew who you were !! trying to cause misery to people while you hide behind your computer screen hahaha i feel for your mother raising a fucking loser like you...

  • Poor little dumplin'. :( It makes me sad when baby is sick.

  • Omg!! So very hard for me to watch.. I can not imagine any baby out there out through this. I know Your baby is doing good now but please take care..

  • @luvpixi thank you :)

  • poor fella :(

  • I'm terrified that my daughter may have this, she's a month old and she has a cough and she sneezes a lot, we just recently got to bring her home because she was a preemie. Whenever she coughs though it sounds as if air puffs are coming out? Not sure if that's the right way to describe it. :|

I tried to call her doctor and her doctor wasn't in, hopefully she'll be in tomorrow..

  • Awwa baby this is suffer I don think no baby any age go threw this its scary an sad mann poor baby

  • I, like you, was looking for a video. I found one, but I looked at this one to...i couldn't watch it all, made me cry:( but turns out Acelyn is positive for the whoop:) thank you YouTube eh? lol

  • aww made me cry

  • omg this is sad. I think I have whooping cough right now also. I hope the little one is better

  • @blkrican2009 ... Jaxson is doing great now :) thank you for asking x hope your better soon x

  • @ilikefosters wait, that makes no sense, my school nurse said that if a baby gets whooping cough, the baby will die :(

  • @123viperdude ... Really ??? Wow and that just proves health professions get it wrong. A baby can be given angel wings from whooping cough but there are many survivors, with my son being one off them.

  • @ilikefosters

I don't think it's a 100% fatal disease, but it can be pretty deadly in babies. At any rate, thanks for putting this video up and helping to educate people. :)

  • @123viperdude: No no no!!!! Some may die but these days babies do live through the whooping cough. Tell that woman that my grandmother had it when she was a baby and of course she's still alive.

  • @Eternalsummersong ty and yaya that means i dont have to take a TDAP shot! woooooohoooo!

  • Try punching it .... it might work.

  • @ajaykeer23939 ... bet your mother is proud of raising a loser like you !!!

  • @ajaykeer23939 Good one dickwad.

  • He coughed like that and you were just "filming"????? He was too tiny to be struggling like that!! You should have been at the EMERGENCY ROOM WITH HIM!!

  • @JaciesDada Do you not think i took him 2 the emergency room or even the doctors? Because i did over & over but once i got their the coughing would of stopped. He had been diagnosed with Acid reflux & bronchiolitis but i knew it wasn't that so filming him was my only other choice 2 prove 2 staff that they were wrong & it was only then i got took seriously. That 3 mins of filming was the hardest thing i've ever had 2 do believe me.

  • @madirishman01 he is so much better now just turned 8 months old x

  • This made me cry poor baby!

  • this made me cry <3 my heart and prayers go out to your family and your baby <3 i am in Nursing school hoping to become a pediatric unit nurse, so thank you for sharing this and helping me to understand the severity of whooping cough. i hope he is doing better! <3

  • @ocgoldielox ... I'm so glad the clip is helping people. Jaxson will be 8 months nexts wk so is a hell of a lot better now although he picks up every bug going :( the cough lasted months it caused him to burst a vessle in his eye and he also got a small hernia in his belly button, luckly he could handle the coughing fits, things could of gotten alot worse.

  • Poor little bubba, I came here because I have had whooping cough for the last 10 weeks myself and I was immunised as a child. I hope he was better very quickly, watching this I'm crying right now for him. xxoo

  • @Odette321 .... yeah the vaccine doesn't last into adulthood thats why you should get the booster shot, jaxson is nearly 8 months now so is alot better although he tens to pick up every bug going :( i hope you get better soon x

  • Thats such a shame :( I want to take his pain away

  • I am curious, if a baby is vaccinated against it how come so many are getting it anyhow? My son is 22 now and he had a reaction to the vaccine when he was a baby and so he cannot have it and only had the one. He and his wife are due to have a baby in 2 months. I hope the baby is not allergic to the vaccine too.

  • @mommadog1 ...babies get it for a couple of reasons one is that they are too young to be vaccinated (that is the main reason) another is that it takes up until there 6 month vax to be immune, so they need to have there 2, 4 and 6 month vaccination before they have built the immunity.

  • That is just horrible. You must have been just beside yourself trying to help him. Good for you for not taking the doctors word for it. So many people think that if the dr says so he must be right. They are human and make mistakes all the time. And some just do not take the time.

  • Awww poor baby seemed so miserable then... Thank god he is feeling better..

  • Oh my gosh, poor thing <3 Hope he is better!!!! I nearly cried watching this.. couldn't imagine my daughter going through this :(

  • We need way more Third World peole in our countries to bring over diseases that we already elimiated from our country.

  • Comment removed

  • OMiGosh hearing this makes me feel so helpless to hear such a tiny preciuos thing cry like that:( i think its a woman thing that make us want to run and help a baby crying :( i hope ur little one is doing better an with great health

  • This just breaks my heart! This is why we've just had a fight with my husbands parents because we asked them to get the vaccine and they didn't see why they should have to so I told them they weren't going to see our newborn until they'd been immunized!

Glad to hear your bub is doing better now

  • @dylantel07 How about you show this video to your husband's parents? And if they still don't care to get a shot, congrats -- your in-laws are sociopaths.

  • What is sad is that there are some people out there who are convinced that babies and children do not need vaccines and that they gov't is trying to poison the children. I really, really wish those people had to watch and hear this as well as seeing what tetanus and diptheria do.

  • @InnannasRainbow1 What is also sad is that people who KNOW the dangers of vaccines and the lack of unbiased studies on vaccine effectiveness and adverse effects are demonized by people who have no knowledge of vaccines other than the multi-billion dollar industry says it's good and necessary for them. These vaccines don't always create immunity and sometimes create more problems, sometimes long term, than they solve. Educate yourself at the National Vaccine Information Center.

  • That was hard to watch, poor little thing.

  • OMG, that is so scary to me. My son has a cough now. I was thinking it was just a cold until my hubby said he saw a commercial about whooping cough. I think I will as the doctor to swab my son when we go in. He is about 7 weeks now too. I am so sorry that your family had to go through that. That would make me feel so helpless cuz there's nothing you can do. My sons cough is not that bad but I will still get him checked since they say symptoms start mild anyway, just like a cold. Thanks 4 this.

  • @EJMsMOM ... hi, yeah symptoms do start out like a cold so your doing the right thing in getting your son swabbed. its better to be safe. its heartbreaking having to watch your child go though it. fingers crossed that your son is ok x

  • I'm crying :( I had this when I was a baby :(

  • Poor thing:[ Is he any better?

  • @amandaisthaabombify yes he is alot better now, thank you for asking :)

  • Also...Some medical professionals are ignorant. I sent my bro to dr with "WC" and called his RN. Told her everything. Whoop, newborn in fam, "felt like he was going to pass out" etc. He came home with a "sinus inf" diagnosis and no atbs. Thus we all got it. I called my supervisor at hospital and told her my broprob had it - what should I do? She said come to work. I ended up with "bronchitis" along with my mom two weeks later (2 week incubation+2 weeks before cough really starts in). Horrible.

  • Thank you so much for this video! I think I have finally found the answer to my almost 7 week olds cough that just started a week ago. He hasn't reached big episodes like this yet, but he puked for the first time this morning during an episode. I am finally glad to have an answer although it seems pretty sad to figure it out as I took him to 2 drs already and one said silent reflux and the other said nothing and basically told me to buy a soother. Thank you I hope your son is doing better

  • @rebesalsa ... this is the reason why i put it up, i'm so glad that it is helping other people. i would suggest that you ask your doctor to swab your baby asap. whooping cough can be extremely dangerous. i really hope your little man gets better soon, nothing worse then seeing a newborn so poorly. Jaxson is doing great, he still coughs a little but nothing like in this clip x

  • Oh my this breaks my heart. How is he doing now??

  • @Shannindhall ... Hi, Jaxson is now 22 weeks old and he is so much better now, he only coughs now and again mainly when he cries or is laughing. he is amazing :) thank you for your concern xx

  • Its hard to watch a poor baby suffer! i wish the best of luck for your child!

  • @sparkybigptalkshow ... thank you, he is so much better now x

  • God i hope the Tdap really works!

  • is there no cure for whooping cough? i just couldn't see that baby suffering like that.... :'(. this must be really painful for the parents as well:(

  • @foxglove360 ... No their is no cure for whooping cough it can be prevented by having the vaccination but some parents choose not to give it to their child, Jaxson was to young to have the vaccination and yes it was awful to watch Jaxson coughing like that and not being able to help him. extremely distressing. xx

  • Oh, this is SO SAD!!!!! :-(

  • @DMBalways ... below u agree that vaccines 'makes symptoms less severe' isnt that enough to make u want to vaccinate a child?? why would u want to see them suffer more than they have to? surely the benefits of vaccinating far outweigh the risks? i don not agree nor disagree with vaccinating but i will always vaccinate because the majority of people who are vaccinated have a better immunity to diseases such as this.my sister was vaccinated for pertussis & still got it, doesnt stop me vaccinating

  • Oh poor kid. I couldnt watch the rest. A newborn with this is breaking my heart. I looked to see if its what my 11 month old sons cough was like but its not so bad. Just a cold. Thanks for uploading. I hope your baby is alright and feeling better!

  • @MichelleLeBelle88 jaxson is alot better now still has a ongoing cough but its nothing like in this clip. hope you son is ok :) x

  • ilikefosters, please keep us updated on your little one. :(

  • @stanselmdoc hi, Jaxson is now 16wks old and is a lot better then he was :) there is another video on my page of his cough 8wks later you can see a huge difference. x

  • Oh, my. It was incredibly hard to hit the "like" button for this, but I like the importance of it. Thank you for attempting to make this horrible experience you had into something educational and constructive.

  • Oh, your poor little boy. It is absolutely shameful that the doctors didn't take this more seriously.

I hope you don't mind, I intend to use this video as an illustration to anti-vaccinationists of why they are actually endangering children.

  • @thethinkingcat ... hi no i dont mind at all x

  • @ilikefosters -- thank you.

  • @thethinkingcat oh please.... being vaccinated does NOT make you immune to passing it along!!! Please do your homework before you blame the non vaccinated. It was a fully vaccinated nurse in Australia who passed it onto newborns a few years back - just ONE example! These thoughts are so damaging.

  • @DMBalways Vaccination is not a 100% guarantee that you will not catch the disease -- on the other hand, if you are not up-to-date on your vaccinations, there is a 100% chance that you are vulnerable to catching it and passing it along. I have no idea what you think your logic is, here. And, further, the statistics for outbreaks are entirely clear: they happen where there is a pool of unvaccinated, providing the disease with a vector.

  • @thethinkingcat Non vaxed are 100% Chance of being vulnerable to catching it? How do you explain all the unvaccinated people who live near and among outbreaks who do NOT catch the disease, but yet, as the outbreak in California, 2/3's of the infected were fully vaccinated and up to date? There are PLENTY of ways to ward off disease without injecting toxic substances into a babies arm. I think you need to find a new resource site to read, one that ISNT funded by GlaxoSmithKline.

  • @DMBalways So first it was Australia, now it's California...and you have yet to document your claim that it was primarily fully vaccinated people who caught the disease. Can you do that?

I get my info from the wide variety of studies available on PubMed and from immunology. You need to stop getting your info off of anti-vaccinationist sites, who specialise in selling fear and lies to people who do not understand either disease or medicine.

  • @DMBalways Amen!

  • @DMBalways -- as for your claim that it was a fully vaccinated nurse passing on the disease to newborns: I can find absolutely no documentation of this. So, [citation needed].

  • @thethinkingcat PLEASE use these videos - my little one also had whooping cough (video of whooping cough in 3 month old/infant with pertussis) and she likely caught it from another baby in day care who wasn't immunized. My little girl was too sick to get her first round of shots, but she is doing much, much better now @ 6 months old! Kids deserve to get their immunizations!

  • Thank you for sharing this. If most people who refuse vaccinations really knew the consequences of leaving their child unprotected from pertussis and other diseases, they'd be lining up for their shots.

  • @drtadmyers and so what happens when its a fully vaccinated person who passes along whopping cough as it USUALLY is?? Please do your homework on the subject. Being vaccinated does NOT protect you from the disease, it CAN make the symptoms less sever but JUST as possible to pass it along to little babies like poor Jaxon.

  • As a registered nurse working in general practice as a nurse vaccinator I found this video extremely distressing. I have passed it on to my fellow health professionals including doctors, nurses and mdwives. I hope that the suffering of poor Jaxson and his parents will help other babies avoid this awful condition. Thank you Kat for this brave video.

  • @sianmorton What is scary is some nursing schools only require a Td and not a Tdap booster. I only had a Td and they said nothing about it as I had been vaccinated as a child etc, so....I got it....from my brother...and my mom got it too. I heard him whoop and knew he had it, thought I was protected, and my mom had immunity being 80. NOPE! Horrible. Then they would not vaccinate my mom when we had a newborn in family.

  • Heartbreaking to watch a baby in such agony.

Please vaccinate everyone, including so many adults who need boosters, so that this does not happen.

    Ilijas.

  • Thank you for sharing this. I'm so sorry for your child and for all of you worrying about him. Whooping cough is horrendous for babies and I know your video will make adults and teens get vaccinated to protect the babes in their lives. Very brave of you.

  • Thank you so very much for sharing this. Oh, my heart goes out to you and to him. Like hank1oz, I kept trying to breathe for him while watching this. I hope he's 100% very soon, poor little guy. I'm just in tears.

  • This is why vaccination should be compulsory

  • Thank you so much for sharing this Kat. Poor little guy had me breathing for him throughout the vid. I'm glad he is on the improve. Your video will ensure many others see how horrible this disease is for infants.

  • I got the chills watching this. I'm so sorry!!! It's heart wrenching to watch.

  • OMg this is def not just a cold. I would be soo mad at the doctor. Sue there asses!!

  • this is my grandson, and still makes me cry to see this, the cough last for months after to, its horrible to watch your child go through this , and is disgusted by the way my daughter was treated by the hospital. stick to your guns mums.... persist if needs be, jaxson could of been cured a lot sooner, luckly it wasnt fatal.
