Ending abortion is the most important issue of liberty. If a right to life is not guaranteed of all individuals in a society then all other rights are superfluous. If a right to life is only guaranteed for some individuals but denied to others then we are a nation of tyrants.

Ron Paul was one of the few GOP Congressmen to vote against the Defense of Marriage. He also opposes both a Human Life Amendment to the Constitution and a Marriage Amendment to the Constitution.

At first, he said he was against Amending the Constitution. (Is that more important than supporting life?) But recently he said he supports changing the 14th Amendment to stop "anchor babies".

Being personally against abortion but unwilling to do anything about it isn't pro-life in my book

But you must understand that we don't live under a monarchy. We have fifty states and we must respect that those fifty states have rights. I would LOVE to end the death penalty, but if I was President, I know that I don't have the power to do so. If we ammend the Constitution too much, we lose our roots, our freedoms, etc. We can work to get each state to ban abortion, but the President has no such right to impose such a law throughout the nation.

Harry Browne was also pro life but he felt that laws spacificly aimed at abortion would fail just like the everything else the Fed trys. So leave it to the states and local courts to figure out if it is a violent act and put guilty (if they are found guilty in jail.
