  • hockey athletes , are top ....like boxers , and mma ...its not important that u be able to bench 300 ..10 times or squat alot of weight , its about endurance , and speed...ever try to fight someone on skates??? i have , and its no joke!!!

  • If you've never played hockey, stop right here. Ive played and trained for both and hockey requires going to hell and back if your going to be the best. Football training is a cakewalk compared to it.

  • actually dumbfuck super34trooper12, jump training is very important for hockey as it improves your leg power and skating stride and vertical jump testing is used in regards to a players skating stride, so thanks, come again dumbass.

  • yeah, there strength coach has some shit to fix lol. and how bout the powercleans with only a 25 on each side, i mean holy shit how can u be in college and not even have the ability to powerclean more than 135 pounds. u should be doing reps with 200 pounds, even if ur a guy who weighs 160

  • I know you'll probably think im full of shit, but hockey players train different... its more about core and legs than bench... its important but not at the same level... being on skates is completely different than being on your feet... you gotta train different as a result

    and every sport ur gonna need core strengh. u need core strength to be better at deadlifting and squating.

    these guys are not powerful or strong.

  • hockeys a speed game... more about explosion... its just a montage try finding their workout online or something im sure ul be impressed by the core and leg strength... but also hockey players are not that big... its the sport of the average sized white boy

    weight training is good for all sports :) i mean shit u need explosion right? and what better way to get it from powerlifting.

    clean squat, squating, deadlift, box squat.

    but i see where ur coming from cause hockey is close to basketball and soccer in a sense of finess and athletic moves and stuff

  • I weighed 170 my senior year of hs, played puck, football, and benched 235 five times. But I also squatted 450 and power cleaned 275. Your probably just another fucking benchlete.
