  • you cam make your own out of tissue paper and string and a fry container from any fast food joint.

  • Don't be FOOLED! It is obvious that the extraterrestials are uploading multiple fake videos to get us to think that all of the UFO spottings were fake! See that guy? He is gone, he's being mind controlled...they have attracted much attention upon themselves and wish to get rid of it.

  • Saw one before. I thought it was a comet. sigh !

  • LOL UFO Sighting

  • I heard one landed on the moon's surface!

  • A goddamned fucking cell phone video with no sound. Whoever decided to incorporate video cameras into cell phones should be shot in the face.

  • There are so many poor people on youtube who think that they've got UFO footage: all because of these lanterns!!!

  • These are the chinese equivalent to the Japanese Toro Nagashi as far as I know o-o They were letting these off on fourth of July.

  • chinese lanterns are kool!

  • i saw a load of these this morning (new year) i thought they where ufos and first but then one flew down our street and it was one of these....

  • @k3ytech - thought similar - took me 5 minutes of thinking ah crap that's not an aircraft - UFO! Then saw another 5 and twigged!

  • UFO xD

  • traditionaly, what time of the year is this done?

  • In the far east it varies, they use them to celebrate all holidays and also send 'ghost money' up with them when someone dies (to signify their spirit ascending), Chinese New Year sees a lot of these launched too.

  • mid/end summer

  • They are released on Chinese Mid-Autumn and Lantern Festivals. Pingsi in the Taipei County of Taiwan holds an annual Lantern Festival in which sky lanterns are released on which date this occurs i am not sure.

  • @MICHELLESIX they are done to celebrate chinese new year in febuary

  • They make a nice change from fireworks and are fun to light and watch!

  • Thank you for the video, am hoping to get some from you either on ebay or your webby :O

  • how much does this cost?

  • Search for Glo-Lantern Sourcing4U on Google, thanks.

  • Why Dont You Treat Flying Lanterns As Weather Balloons Is That A Good Idea

  • about 5 pound, 10 us dollars...

  • £4 each....

  • Hi These are actually £1.99 each if you buy a 10-pack, thanks.

  • @f1lby my god in ireland we have em for 2 euro

  • Is it legal to use these without permission?

  • Perfectly legal, as long as the comprehensive instructions included with each Glo-Lantern are followed, Glo-Lanterns have been tested and approved by UK trading standards.

  • Couldn't be that hard to make, tissue paper, glue, thin wire for rim at bottom, fuel source

  • Wouldn't advise using tissue paper, Glo-Lanterns use fully fire retardant specialised paper to avoid any possibility of fire.

  • It is invented in China about 2000 years ago. it is commonly known as kongming deng or tian deng (sky lantern)

  • Also known as Khoom-Fay!
