I've never tried to learn to play a regular piano keyboard in different keys. I'm so glad I never attepmted that after have seen this instrument in progress. Why would anyone want an instrument where the same piece of music looks different depending on what key you play it in. This instrument should've been on the market long ago. I'm trying to figure out the ultimate keyboard for the moment and if this one isn't the best already maybe the Janko is.
After reading the article in the wall street journal and watching demonstrations, i cannot wait to play one of these. Ive always been rather bad at music theory, so i am really excited for the simplicity and complexity in this intrument!!
The Thummer will prove itself to be an invaluable asset to the music industry, especially education in the USA. All it needs now is a hit recording, perhaps done by Weird Al or Wynto Marsailis (sp?)
Good stuff. Great site too. Really honest and balanced, rare these days. I wish these would catch on. Wish I could get my hands on one.

Jim, your a bad-ass for inventing this bastard..
I met your wife down in Austin, and she was telling me about this piece.
Very inspiring.
Though I'm a bassist and percussionist, I cannot wait to get back to Texas, to pick up one of these works.

Sure seems like a great teaching opportunity. Lots easier than the two years of piano I slogged through!
