  • I'm sorry, but I have to say it

    M-E-T-H-O-D...MAN!

  • 6 MIN's for a single can you say that for any other pop hit oh sorry l forgot to mention Johaun Strause the the beautiful blue danube.

  • Oh, shit. He fell off the roof and died and finished the song from a cloud in heaven.

  • sorry , that was real music, not the garbage we have today

  • I don't understand why Hall & Oates are not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Makes NO sense to me what so ever.

  • @wendya1972 I agree. THEY SHOULD BE. It's because of videos like this that they became The Biggest duo in The Music Industry. One of these days, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will get their heads out of their asses. Until then...

  • @wendya1972 there pop

  • @wendya1972 It's because their music actually awoke the subconscious of people...something THEY don't want. Hall and Oats were the prime example of the wonderful abilities of human beings.

  • Ah, the eighties.....

  • @redredshoes yeah man, pure feeling!

  • From John Oates: METHOD OF MODERN LOVE was a real studio creation. Daryl had the initial idea in his head, and that really came together through a lot of unusual recording techniques and the new technology -- a lot of early sampling and things like that that we were into those days. It was pretty much constructed in the studio.

  • @Supersweetguy a perfect creation!

  • @jorave777 Thanks.

  • do you hear any saxophone at 2:14 ? nuthin but steam comin out of the sax -.-

  • @Jensiebo lol!

  • This is one of my favorites by H&O; they are fabulous. I always had a crush on Daryl....still do, in a way, lol. I'm enjoying 'Daryl's House' nowadays, check it out if you haven't already. I swear his voice has gotten even better with age.

  • M.E.T.H.O.D.O.F.L.O.V.E

When I was junior high school student, I remember the word "method" by this song.

    I'm Japanese.

  • I love them..classic!!80's !!

  • THe Magic of Music...Glorious Music....As I sit watching and listening wishing I could go back to 1984 just out of high school enjoying being young and free. Everything was a new experience , though we can never go back , the power of the mind and magic of the music can put you right back to where you want to be . I guess 47 years old now isnt so bad, just keep the music rolling !

  • 53 people enjoy sucking nasty disease ridden donkey cock..lol.. i bet these same 53 people think Britney Spears is an undeniable self made talent too..and that Lindsey Lohan is like...totally an awesome actress and great person..stay away from me 53 dislikers!!

  • @shanedangers of course!

  • Neg all videos with ads.

  • Great song, is a method of my pants getting tighter!

  • M.E.T.H.O.D. MAN ;D

  • Method of modern love? 2 have money and a modern car!

  • By far their funkiest track of all time. T-Bone are you serious dude? unreal talent.

  • Sometimes I regret having been born at a time that I could grow up listening to this music. Today's musical melodies and beats are the equivalent of a run on sentence, with people who repeat a hook over and over that can't even usually write music or play an instrument. I miss real singing, variety and change ups in the music, instrument solos, and people who made music mostly for the love of it, not to make money for their corporate puppet masters or just to be famous.

  • Hall, rapping, nice! This guy was soooo bad!!!

  • 50 people didn't like this cuz this isnt auto tune....suck it up!

this song is the shits :D

  • Weird Al brought me here

  • G.E. Smith looks like Ernest Borgnine.

  • this song is the jam method of modern love is a twinkling of an eye handshake blue eyes hello etc

  • this is a smash hitter no doubt about it lyrics sizzl................g

  • I used to get sick of watching this vid back in Philly now I cant stand it

  • That B.A.S.E !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fags

  • This was written by Daryl Hall and Janna Allen, the sister of Hall's long term girlfriend and songwriting partner, Sarah Allen. Janna Allen also co-wrote Hall & Oates #1 hits "Kiss on My List" and "Private Eyes."

As befitting the modern theme of the lyrics, this was Hall & Oates most up to date single yet with a rap-like ad lib in the song's closing verse.

I like this song a lot by them. I think it's pretty cool and catchy.

  • "Method of Modern Love" got to # 21 on the R&B Chart in 1984. In the early/mid 80s a lot of funk-ish music crossed from the R&B chart to the US / UK pop charts & vice-versa. Melba Moore's "Love's Comin At Ya" reached #15 on the UK pop chart in 1982. A few more examples, the US R&B Chart: "Shock the Monkey", "Miss Me Blind" "Out of Touch."

  • You may find that it is worth the time to take a look and listen at the song lists that have been posted to Itunes Ping that meld together rhythmically & stylistically compatible early/mid 80s R&B/funk songs and early/mid 80s synth pop/new wave songs. Lots of music that was either forgotten or not ever learned of but was very enjoyable or would be very enjoyable if it was rediscovered or discovered for the 1st time by people that enjoy this type of music. People like you?

  • I have researched these music categories for the past 9 years

and I have rediscovered tunes I had forgotten about or I discovered

new tunes that totally deserved the time it took to discover them.

In Itunes Store or Itunes Ping if you use the search terms "electrofunk" (as a single word) or "80s funk" the search result shall produce several lists that have "electrofunk" or "80s funk" in the playlist name in the "Playlist" category at the low left corner of the search result.

  • Click on the "more" link and once you have opened the next page that has

all of the Playlist search results for "electrofunk" or "80s funk",

you'll quickly find a bunch of lists that use the title "Ebony & Ivory Electrofunk".

  • These lists have songs that (1) you may have heard before and enjoyed but forgotten or (2) songs that you may enjoy now but you have not heard before. These lists also include album cuts that were not released as singles and songs from lesser known yet solid groups/soloists such as Fatback, Kashif, Laid Back, D Train, Boys Don't Cry, and Dynasty.

  • Mullets aplenty here. Yow. Pretty catchy but goofy as hell vid.

  • Yeah I agree the video is a little corny but so were most of the 80's videos...... But great song though

  • This is just soOo embarrassing that I had to look away. lol We were talking about worst songs and videos at work today, and this one came up. I honestly think we have found our winner.

  • @IvanMtl dude you are an idiot. this is an amazing video and a great song! i think it looks so great, so realistic, no special effects or editing bullshit. and hall and oates perfect music sound in the 80's. but who cares about the video, its all about the sound, style, and makeup!

  • m-e-d-h-o-e-r-f-l-o-v

  • HEY!!!!, they totally copied Method Man (M E T H O D- man) in this song!!

  • @saganemc2 You got it backwards. M E T H O D-man was released in November 1993. H&O's Method Of Modern Love was released in the fall of 1984, nine years before. It was Method Man who copied Hall and Oates.

  • LLLL love!!!

  • the M-E-T-H-O-D....MAN

  • I Love this song one of my favorite Hall&Oates songs.

  • No, they were not the first band to bridge the color gap. Back in the 60s, Sly and the Family stone gets that credit. A true pop group where race made no difference.

  • @Trolleymoose In a way, they are both white and black:) I didn't even realize the other singer was black. I never thought about it. I just like the music.

  • I heard this song yesterday for the first time

    It's my favourite song now!

    i keep singing M-E-T-H-O-D O-F L-O-V-E :D
