snake head ripped of some guy balls while bathing in a lake kenyir in Malaysia. They also saw a snake head jumping out of the water and eat a baby monkey dangling on a tree branch above the water.. they did not manage to capture the moment.. but the anglers definately saw and reported that in the local magazine in Malaysia. It seems they saw a 12 foot snakehead.. but they still have catch anything that size, the largest caught was close to 5 feet.

@NOLIMIT331 They're illegal in the U.S., pretty much the only places you can get them is in big city black markets (Such as NY, LA, CHI, DET, etc... or just go catch one in Florida. Chances are though, if you get them at those black markets, they're gonna run a few hundred bucks just for a juvenile.

djityme, have you not seen how much damage these fish can do? These things aren't native to US waters. These are predators, and they will kill, just to kill. I have seen video clips of various species of snakeheads, attack and kill live prey. Some of the time, they don't even eat the prey they kill. They just bite it in half and leave it to die. They wreck havoc on the environment. They eat native kill and eat native species. As for keeping these fish as pets, that is ill-advised.

How big is he? Mine also has it but all his fins are intact. I'm pretty sure the discoloration is from them growing.

he grew to be about 22 inch himself

had him in a 150gallon alone.

i remeber waking up many of nights to put him bank into the tank because he jumped out and i heard him floppin on the floor...lol

great fish,expensive though. i spent nearly 3 thousands dollars one year on goldfish for him ....lol
