Go back 2 Snow Leopard....Ive been having midi issues since upgrading to Lion osx.... Im reverting back 2 Snow Leopard, never had any issues until upgrading....Good Luck.
can you guys help me .. i started noticing that my mac book pro 15 inch made in california intel i 7
gets crash and broken graphics.. when i start using ati 3d graphic card in windows it happens automatically .. sometimes it happens because you use 3d graphics and sometimes automatically.. i can't really understand why and how to fix it..
I think you should try the clean install of lion, and re-install all your apps one by one so that they will be configured for Mac OS X, and the will also be fresh and clean, but your setting on the app will be set back to defaults. Be sure to have a backup of your mac before you clean install your mac. Good luck, my dad also uses logic 9 and he had the same problems and that's what he did...
Damm my 2008 imac is not having Lion, it would probably kill it. I'm kind of done with Apple anyway, great O.S but there not the company they used to be. Still like there handheld though.
I've had other programs crash as well. I've had 2 kernel panics since the release. I'm thinking about going back to Snow Leopard. Many programs just don't want to work for some reason. Did any of you guys go back to Snow Leopard?
Thanks, I too am now having issues. I am running Cubase 6 and I blame the issues on Cubase, but now I see others are having issues. Man, this is very frustrating. Surely they will come out with a fix, but now my workflow has slowed down. Wasted many hours thinking the problem is with Cubase.
dude, i really though you had lion but you dont. 1) the pushbuttons arent square, the scroll bars arent ios style, the street light windows buttons arent super small, and checkboxes arent that glossy in lion. sry.
@mickyd110011 you can change all of this on lion, simply change theme from aqua to graphite and change colors, change scrollbars, but in Logic pro theres no new ios style scrollbars.
@mickyd110011 the scroll bars depend on what type of mouse/trackpad/magic mouse you have and I'm not really sure were you saw the other things u pointed out (yes I saw the checkboxes but they look about right to me)
Its a new OS/code base. Their will be bugs in the os, and or ball dropping concerning drivers and or librarys left out or changed that will not reflect against configuration files. the thing i find funny is you actually paid extra money to "upgrade" ;'D
In any case though, I do agree that it's best to wait for the first or second update before upgrading... new OS releases are always buggy, whether it's OS X, Windows, iOS, or Android.
My friend with a early-2011 MacBook Pro is keeping Snow Leopard because he just thinks Lion isn't worth the upgrade. To me, Snow Leopard is still perfect.
I mace a comment that all of my issues with os x lion magically fixed themselves. Well guess what....over the things that were were messed up are back!!!! I'm tired of this...
When Snow Leopard came out pretty much the same thing happened, but little by little over time everything became compatible and worked really well. I really like this new operating system and it's new features. The bugs will be fixed indeed.
Hey I still have snow Leopard and really wanted to upgrade to Lion, but keep reading about countless issues about it, and I don't want to take the chance. I've even read about people's Macbook's battery performance cut in half after the upgrade... I love SL it works fine for me, but I want Lion. Is it worth downloading, or should I wait.
I'm not sure whats going on with Lion, but yesterday my graphics card started making lines go up my screen about every ten seconds. Now with this on top of everything else that has happened I was about ready to throw my mac out the window and I love my mac!! Now this is the weird part. I shut my Mac off and didn't use it for about 4 or 5 hours and when I turned it back on everything was fixed. I mean everything!! There is no lag all monitors work great and it has never run this fast!!
@derracsdl I am not sure if I am correct, but i heard once you install Lion it does a thing called "Indexing" which i am not exactly sure what it does but it can last anywhere from 20minutes to 2 hours i believe. Temporarily slowing down your mac. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
Wacht out whit focusrite products ,,,,,,they dont have à driver ready jet ,,,,,,,mixcontrol wont open ',,,,,,,,,,,,end my Spectrasonic steam map whas missing ,,,,,,is is worth it ?
i'm havin an issue wit my logic as well... the new osx lion needs more cpu and hd power, e.g. the projects that worked on snow lion perfectly, stop playing sometimes now wit logic saying cpu over capacity (I'm usin a german logic, so i don't know the exact error in the english version). i thank god the validation of the native instrument sounds (usin complete 7) worked fine. one validation failed too though.. melodyne.
logicpro08 wont work whit lionosx?!!!!!!!!! if i knew this before i upgrade i wouldent do it logicpro cost so now i must haveit?."You can't use this version of the application Logic Pro.app with this version of Mac OS X.You have Logic Pro.app 8.0.2".that is the message when i try to open my studio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@djnoamk If you contact apple customer service that should be able to help you, considering they give refunds for apps purchased on the app store. I'm not saying they will refund your money but they may send you a snow leopard disk for free to reinstall on your system. I'm only suggesting that because if you can't afford to upgrade to logic 9 then you will have to eat the $29.99 and go back to Snow and if you still have your snow leopard disk just say goodbye to Lion.
@ADKIc3mAnX36O Yeah I'm really not liking the gestures to much. It seems like every time I move my magic mouse it swipes the screen or does some other unwanted gesture. I haven't looked yet to see if I can adjust the sensitivity of gestures.
@derracsdl Oh you can turn them off just there are so many more problems like Time Machine won't work then FTP is no longer on Macs and it's just really annoying this was suppose to make Macs easier they made them 1000000X harder to use
my macbook keeps crashing and randomly force quitting applications. If i try to force quit or relaunch finder IT DOESNT WORK. Now I have to hard shutdown my macbook about every 2 hours of everyday. Sometimes it takes for ever to startup and shutdown. I am very disappointed with this operating system and its performance, and i hope apple is working on many future updates
Yeah It making my 13 inch macbook pro over heat, and I'm having compatibility issues with my SNES, Nes, and Sega Emulators. Onyx doesn't work either. I might be rolling back to Osx Snow for right now. This reminds me of the Vista days.
@ej6060 I received a message from user sackajapeanuts reminding me that older software that requires Rosetta to run, will not run on Lion. If I'm not mistaken if your program runs on power pc it will not run on Lion either. Don't jump back just yet to snow, because if we know one thing about apple, its that they fix bugs and glitches fast. As for your older programs you can run both snow and Lion on the same system. you will have to google that because I have no idea how to explain that.
@derracsdl Guess i'll stick with Lion for a bit to see. I'll just have to use Windows XP in Bootcamp for my Emulators. As for the heat it is kinda staying around 50c to 60c. It used to with Snow hang around 42c to 50c.

A list of my software that will not work with Lion OS X:
Abbyy FineReader Express
Front Line System Solver
And when I quit Safari and open it back up it won't go to my homepage. I've set the homepage, but it still opens with a blank page.
