Exactly ZekeAsakuraX, good point. Now in the Western World people are smoking ciggs less and less than ever before. Not by jailing, drug testing and fining smokers, but by educating and give them free choice. If weed was relegalized eventually the novelty would ware off and the number of smokers would go down. Number of Americans that have tried weed is 42% and in the Netherlands 20%. The Dutch gov't has made the image of weed boring..especially to high school students there.

The DEA knows that millions of Americans have died and are dying of nicotine addiction. It's a dangerous drug. Yet the tobacco CEOs and tobacco farmers aren't being arrested and executed for basically the murder of Americans. Thousands of Americans each year are being murder by guns yet the US gov't won't ban guns...it's in the Constitution. As long as you're not hurting people and property it your right to use drugs and guns responsibly.

How come nobody would of cared if Phelps used the 2 mostly deadly drugs of all time-Alcohol and Tobacco. Look up tobacco on wikipedia-an estimated 100+ million people died of nicotine addiction in the 20th century alone. Including millions of Americans. How come the DEA isn't arresting Tobacco CEOs and tobacco farmers?

Tobacco in itself is very addictive and toxic. While they do add other chemicals (to keep the flame going and such), smoking just tobacco is harmful to good health, although so is living in big cities and thousands of other things.

Because it would start too many illegal drug trading and although tobacco is illegal, tobacco companies are very heavily taxed therefore lots of their profit goes to the gov't and funds supposedly good programs for our country. A lot of money is distributed through these companies and people make choices to do tobacco it is not decided by the farmers, they're just trying to make a living..CEOs are just milking money out of the people who do buy

Because people generally associate the use of marijuana with losers and lowlifes, and when someone who was in the media that much for being the biggest "winner" has a slip up, there is a hay-day.
If Obama or Bush came out on TV for being exposed of smoking RECENTLY, there would be a field day... it isnt really newsworthy for channels to cover a story along the lines of "Obama got high 20 years ago, we'll be back with more on this breaking story after this!"
