  • i did see this on TV before it is very educatianal but on TV they didnt show the whole video

  • project vortex very good and excelent video very educatianal very infromative very enjoyable needs to be put on cable tv is a excelent learning and teaching tool

  • lol @ the RFD at 6:30..if it was around a 90 mph gust out of the west..( knots and mph are not the same )...why werent they blown over?

  • It depends on the vehicle and the direction its facing, among other variables. Lets just say they got lucky. I was in a pickup and got hit by 90 mph winds a few years ago, you will think you are about to start rolling when winds like that hit you. All it did to me was rock the truck around some.

  • makes sense i guess

  • That is some of the most incredible video I have ever seen. They are playing awfully close to that wedge. I like to get close, but I dont know about that.

You can always mark it as a good chase when you get hit by powerlines and see asphalt pulled up.

  • yo. nice vid man. im right behind u. 2 years, and im out there.

  • I taped a program off TLC back in 2000 called "Tornado Chasers" that made the same mistake.

  • Awesome uploads Colonel :), thank you :)

The tornado at the end of this clip was a BEAST, I had been trying to find the rest of the video clip of that particular tornado, and so, I'm glad to see that footage in more detail :)

    Top rating :)

  • You're welcome, Willie!

On another tape I have a few seconds of Tim Marshall's footage of the Allison tornado (that's actually his vehicle passing by at 9:00) that I may upload in the future.

  • Now that would also be worth watching for sure :)

I had a feeling that Tim Marshall would have been on the road that day too, I think just about every well known chaser/researcher was on the road that day :) lol

The tornado at 1.00 looked to be a very nasty multiple vortex mosnter, and I think that was the tornado that had scoured the concrete on the road shortly afterward, as I barely remember it being shown on another documentary :)

  • Amazing compilation of an amazing day. The ropey vortice at 8:20 becoming ingested into the main tornado is an interesting air-mass ciruclation problem to consider. I would give a great deal to participate in this type work.

  • Great vid and awesome tornadoes !!!
