  • The orange one is not a mercedes G! It´s a Steyr Puch! :D

  • @LeChar1989 .... puch and mercedes build the car in cooperation. even the engine has the mercedes star on it. the G selled in austria, switzerland, former yougoslavia and opec countrys were badged with the puch sign. The G sold in all other countrys had the mercedes star badge. its the same car without difference. Cheers, wodz

  • Oh no it won't... Oh yes it will!

  • get out of the slippery ruts that everyone else took and you wouldn't slip

  • The silver AMG version of this is the ultimate bad boy rapper daddy mobile! There is one here in Boulder, very nice!

  • Look like stamped Lada wheels XD

  • rear wheel car would flip

  • 1st of all change the tires

  • very nice

  • its diesel?

  • @habibulau ... no it's a four cylinder petrol engine.

  • @wodanowitz no no both of you are wrong... its a engine from the boeing 747

  • Wrong tires....

  • my land cruiser could make it up and over with no problem

  • you suck men

  • god damn that thing is ugly

  • @EDA1X .....

  • hay my discovery II would easily blow right up that ha.

  • @TheBulldozer32 ..... yes, blow or blast up. Even Grandpa in a Wheelchair could do this with enough momentum. Trying to climb or crawl up with no momentum, thats what makes a 4x4 serious. And btw .... I had an 97 Disco, so I know what they are capable. Suspension was awesome.

  • @wodanowitz lol grandpa

  • @wodanowitz It's not about the car, it's just about tires improper for the purpose

  • What year is this Galandewagen?

  • @mgospeed31 ..... Hi, it's a 1983 ....

  • i would LOVE to see a redneck 4x4 hit this :)

  • just lower the pressure as others have pointed out, those look like they're about to explode. not even any "mushrooming" at the contact area.

  • nice, great trucks, i've rode in a few, but i'de still rather have my silverado z71, i would a made it up the hill with snowtires, if he would of lowerd the tire pressure he would of made it too

  • i have a 2006 G500 and I am using 265/ 18 tires. I need to beef it up though. What tires can I use??

  • 90% of the time that I see people 4X4ing on youtube and having problems it's because they have crappy tires

  • That's true......here was no option, as with AT Tires, the rig would be to high to fit into the carbox :-(

  • I have all terrains on my jeep and they do ok, but I won't do any SERIOUS off road untill I put MTs or swampers on it, or maybe baja claws.

  • @RidX4Ricers Actually, the G-class had enough usable thread in the tires but I'm surprised he climbed too slowly thats why kept skidding down. But when he applied more continuous power, it went up easily. The technique is APPLY MORE Throttle. Don't slack through it.

  • HaHaHaHaHA bad driver, keep cool ;)

  • 80/20 rule

  • he did t very easy at the end.. why was he having problems in the begining? not enough momentom?

  • He tried to attempt without low range gear reduction. He failed, switched in to low range and had no problems.

  • worn-out tires, too much tire presure

  • With a lot of momentum. But I bet not from stillstand climbing, not blasting, up to the top. BTW: I drove Chevys for a while, they are rugged and comfortable.

  • back wheels are doing almost all the work

  • thats cool

  • always a great car.needs to lower tire presure and big thread tires otherwise BRAVO!

  • needs to lower the tire pressure

  • NEED BETTER TIRES . STILL VERY NICE.

  • Nice park!!!! and nice truck!!!

  • more speed and momentum would off done it first time

  • Yes, your are right...BUT... the goal was to crawl up there, not blast with momentum. And, I was in High Range at the first attempt, switched to Lo Range and made it up with no problem at all.

  • nice

  • And it is produced in Austria!!!!

  • Thats a Puch G!!!!

  • my dads jeep could make it up there no prob

  • I drive Jeep's myselve and I dondt think he would make it without momentum. This hill is much steeper as it looks on the video.

  • it would climb the stairs better if you took some air out fo those tires :)

  • whats the difference between Mercedes G and Puch?

  • Actualy there is nearly no difference between them, as they were the result from co-operation work. More in your messagebox, thanks.

  • Nice driving. Thats really good control

  • It's down to technique and tyres I think. Most half decent 4WD's with low ratio should be able to do this. If range Rovers were built to MB quality they'd be my preference but I'd still love a GE one day.......

  • Yeah, but if you compare this old G from 1980 with a Range from the same year, you will learn that the G has a huge advantage to the Range due to it's 100% percent diff lockers in front and rear axle. Range with open diffs wich can not be locked, has no chance against the G in heavy terrain.

  • subi mas videos de mercedes g

  • nice!

there so many Brabus and AMG 5 doors G's in Russia. They are used in city only :(

But the real offroad machines are so rare...

  • You are right, they have become statussymbols :-(

  • G 250?

  • GE 230, fuel engine, auto trans, 100% percent lockers in front and rear.

  • That saddens me to hear the news:( Are you planning to get another G-wagon ? I hope so, I look forward to your videos.

  • Yes, I will look for another G-wagon. I have much more videos from this event here shown, that I will put in to youtube in the coming days.

  • would letting out some air help?

  • Not realy, as you take the risk, that the tyre gets loose on the rim.

  • hope you got new tires by now

  • finally damn

  • Thanks for upping this video. Do you know if he was in 4-High on the first try up the stairs?

  • Amazing! You are right! First try seem to be happen in 4high, then second try in 4low. This hill could been taken in 4high, but only if you realy stand on the gas pedal once you go up. Trying slowly in 4high ends like this first attempt in the video. You know very much about G ... thats great!

  • Hi again, yeah it was just a hunch, that gear on the first attempt seemed a tad too long for the stairs. Could you please describe the books you have that cover the G-Wagen? I would be very interested in trying to aquire those.

  • 4 tires are too small and not rough on the stairway

  • Your right, tyres with more agressive tread would have been much better, but having allready snow and ice in Switzerland, I decided to drive with them up to Germany to this testtrack.

  • almost broke the transmotion there on the first try

  • beautiful mercedes! This tires need be larger for clawler

  • Yes, you are right! This ones were the standard 205/16 with winter tires on it.

Take a look at the Gelandewagen in my video MERCEDES GELANDEWAGEN 2 they look much better and are full offroad.

  • Yes, I saw that video too, those tires cleary have better performance. But i prefer this tires... look more "classic" !

  • I have agricultural tyres on mine.

  • like lowlifehippie said, momentum it´s all.

  • Thats true, but not only that. The tire with maximum traction is also very important. Watch my video "Mercedes Gelandewagen climbing power" and you see a Mercedes Gelandewagen just crawling with no effort, up the same concrete hill. He did not have winter tires like this orange one here having lose of traction while crawling.

  • hehe, finaly he switched to 4x4 ... and guess ... no problems. I'd like to see the newer g's in action. The G is famous in bulgaria, like the first gangster 4x4...

  • actually he shifts to 4L. He was already in 4x4, thats why you can see the front wheels losing grip..

  • is this the G they used in vietnam??

  • momentum
