  • You are also making things harder for yourself by trying to assess what position the polariser is in whilst looking through the neutral grad - which will make the effects of the polariser on the sky harder to determine. I don't know why you said that before doing this you would note what position your Neutral Grad is on the holder's scale, as you didn't even touch the Grad filter and it's not as though it slips up and down accidentally when you take the holder off to check the polariser.

  • Every shot is going to have the horizon at a slightly different level - so you basically have to guess (and having those markings along the front is little help - you are guessing how far down your horizon is when you compose in the veiwfinder of a rangefinder camera and then you are still guessing how far down the filter needs to go. Knowing where the EXACT centre of the filter holder is doesn't really help when the task is so imprecise and relies so much upon guesswork.

  • LOL - so WHY exactly would a non-circular polariser interfer with a "rangefinder mechanism" ?? Also your point about taking a test roll of film to see where you want the filter on a rangefinder camera doesn't make sense. You can't develop the film there on the scene, can you ?

  • Terrible intro sound but very informative video. Looks like more Lee goodies coming through the post now!!
