  • okies for all u pple who dont know lilota is not coplay okies do ur reseach b4 u say thing like dat

  • Lolitas don't hate her because she wears "lolita inspired" clothes in this video. It's because she CLAIMS to be a lolita expert every where else! She might have said "inspired" in this video but have you seen any of her other stuff? Would you really have noticed that she said "inspired" if it wasn't mentioned in the comments?

  • @SilliiBoo THIS. yea i though about quitting. It's becoming stressful on me instead of fun cause i can't shell out 400 bucks whenever the hell i want too. =(

  • Perfect for my cosplay Gothic Lolita. :"">

    KAWAIIII.

  • I love your clothes! And yay for Malice Mizer <3

  • so much second hand embarrassment

  • i love those boots!

  • you sound just like my friend xDDD

  • Man, people are stupid. who cares if its not actually Lolita, it still looks beautiful!

  • pretty

  • I knew this was some fugly american girl... why did i click this shit

  • @Makachuk Cause she's Canadian :)

  • The comments are why I hate the lolita style. After following it for as long as I did, I realized that it isn't as much about fun and originality as I thought... It's about shelling out 400$ for a dress that looks exactly the same as your friends 400$ dress so you can look down on other people who aren't doing it 'right'. Yeah, it's not perfect, but as others have already pointed out... "INSPIRED".

  • I bet if she was talking in japanese no one would say anything...owned.

  • Tetsu era malice mizer hell yea!

  • 1:03 kawaii

  • COOL...

  • Your skit is a bit to short but you look great! More Ero for most lolita's tastes but I like it. :)

Although you could use a few more accessories, maybe a black shawl, a long freshwater pear necklace, and different socks. Maybe try curling your hair or look up some popular lolita hair styles to help take it to the next level.

  • I love the boots!

  • I'm jealous!

  • Ugh people with no pictures or videos have NO right to be so judgmental. If you THINK you do Lolita right, Put up a damn video response! Otherwise keep blowing it out your arse. And I have seen goth loli's wearing heavy dark eye shadow. That depends on the person. Why be a follower when you can do your own thing?

  • I think that a lolita's makeup is by choice. Skirt length is also by choice, yes it is suppose to be knee length, but personally I don't think it matters much. To me it's all about the style and clothes. And you don't have to act sweet or have a sweet voice to be lolita. Just be yourself and that's what she's doing. So stop hating. I think she looks good even though I've seen better.

  • ugh i want a lolita dress but they're so expensive and im unsure about the ones that sell cheap dresses cause they might be a scam >_<

  • @ahhchaosx bodyline is your alternative then. ^^

  • Dammit... I wish I was a girl. The clothes are soooo much more fun. Mens clothes are boring.

  • @Lostfaith1980 incredibly untrue!there are also plenty of interesting and fun mens clothes, just perhaps not the main stream mass advertised stuff you see. it's the same for girls, like she said, you won't see lolita on every street corner, same goes for guys if they want a unique style. and if you're into the whole lolita fashion thing, theres actually men's lolita-type clothing!

  • @Lostfaith1980 lolita for men is more centered on male clothing of the era(s) lolita was inspired by, rather than ladies. most of it is gothic lolita and inspired by the victorian era. it's just as extravagant though and rather pretty, but slightly more masculine or gentlemanly, often there are still ruffles and what not so it still has some of the similar aesthetic features.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lostfaith1980 ---was about to go on a trying-to-be-helpful rant about how many different types of interesting clothes there are for men, and being a girl, what i find looks aesthetically good on most types, and how even i'm tempted to buy mens clothes i see that are particularily nice, sometimes.

then i wonder if perhaps you just want to dress like a girl:

thats perfectly fine too. and i say, if you want to, and it suits you, go for it.

  • @Lostfaith1980 but if you just want some interesting looks for men i suggest looking at anything that originated in harajuku, as lolita did (that is, im quite sure.) styles like visual kei, oshare kei, fruits, etc. theres also a peculiar sort of style a lot of individuals develop for themselves over time, consisting of them just seeing what works on them and what they like, which i really recommend.

  • @Lostfaith1980 if you aren't cute-looking enough to pull off something like that, or want something more mature, i really suggest some western fashions as well.

not necesarily the overmarketed, artless, junk you see everywhere, but perhaps going for a more retro look? suits, vests, oxford shirts, bowties, ties, and a number of types of hats (fedoras, etc), you get the idea are very attractive on most people. things like that. it's sort of a universal look thats both modest and striking.

  • @Lostfaith1980 although im not sure if you'd find that boring or not-- there a lot of chances to accesorize however.

well, whatever your tastes are, i suggest you look around for different types of clothes you like, try less commercial places, like indipendant stores or go thrift shopping (you really can pick up some great clothes) and use the internet to research styles and order things you might not see much.

  • @Lostfaith1980 see what works for you, what you find interesting or 'fun' and try to find your own style, good luck, and sorry for flooding :3

  • your skirt is ways to short.

  • proper or not, she is as cute as can be!

  • You people don't like it then don't watch! Besides theres no such thing as a (PROPER) lolita everyone does things THERE OWN way, and this is her's .

  • I LOVE GOTHIC LOLITA I LOVE JAPON

  • I see nothing wrong with it, she does say "Inspired by gothic lolita"(or something like that) she isn't actually trying to be a lolita. If you take off the label "lolita" she looks awesome :/ Change her hair, makeup, boots and socks and you all wouldn't be so pissed off.

  • @XAngelintheDarknessX Well said :)

  • ewwwww you voice >:P

  • She said "Inspired by lolita fashion", not that it was lolita. Get over it and fucking listen.

  • Why is everyone so angry about this video? She just shows a very simple gothic lolita outfit off and gives tips. Yeah it may not be 'correct' but isn't the point of fashion to be an individual?

  • i dare you to go outside, into a mall! heheh

  • @iRapebubblegum I wear clothing like this in the mall all the time, that really isn't a dare xD

  • What is the magazine with all those goth pictures in it.

  • she was close but she should alil more research like goth lolita will never wear black eyeshadow

  • she said it's inspiered by gothic lolita...

    ....

she never said it was propper gothic lolita...

    Sorry for crappy spelling o.o

  • skirt too short o.o this is more of an ero-loli. lol

  • god i hate her voice

  • Wats the big deal about Asians that everyone loves ??

  • I think you looked amazing and your adorable!!

  • where did u get those boots??

  • Hey, I know you ignore all those jerks who claim you don't know anything about GothLoli, and that's good :D Cuz to me, it seems like you know what you're doing. And tell Basil he's a cutie ^-^

  • THATS BECASUE IT'S GOTHIC LOLITA, NOW IF YOU DISAGREE THEN DON'T WATCH THE FREAKING VIDEO!!!!!!

  • LOL I Think it is so freaking funny how there are so many comments of people thinking they know what true lolita fashion is.I like this video and she looks cute

  • I can't believe this video is real. This is not Lolita.

  • I think her outfit is adorable! Why does style have to be caged by idiots who don't understand that style has no rules. Plus she did say that the outfit was INSPIRED by gothic lolita style, so piss off hater's.

  • @chibiXsushiXroll but the style has rules :s

  • @miena25 Yeah...and it's kind of scary how some Lolita's can be strict

  • she's a real gothic lolita chek out her channel ;)

  • How do you get those magazines?

  • @Duckychann Japan or Ebay/Amazon because the English version of Gothic & Lolita Bible is discontinued

  • her voice is really annoying

  • you idiots look at the begining that is way more cloths. do not critisise, her u box brains that is proper lolita get a clue

  • @znnz113

That isn't proper Lolita, even if it covers way more then that outfit that hardly covered her. So, why don't you get a clue.

  • @znnz113 The actual Lolitas out there in the world will know this isnt true Gothic & Lolita fashion. Her outfit can be considered "inspired" by the fashion but if she claims this is actual lolita fashion, then she's completely off.

  • Cover everything up? She should cover some more because her skirt is to short fot sure.

  • Where did u get the shoes?? ive been wanting them forever! how much also..

  • very nice

  • This is more of an Americanized gothic lolita look

  • i. want. your. skirt.

    ugh.

    <3

  • Ita.

    Simply said.

  • i dont understand why ppl think gothic loita is asian. i meen come on it even has gothik in its title... all it is is the western goth in western old fashon clothing... ower western rocers wer dresing like this in the 80s for crying out loud... so you see its not a asian style its just on an asian who chainged the name slightly.

  • @gorillaconna

*snorts* It IS an asian style. Don't mistake the goth fashion with the gothic lolita. And learn to spell.

  • @MicukoFelton i have already won the argument because you cant come up with anything constructive to say you just pick on the lowest common denominator. :D

  • @gorillaconna Actually, you were far from winning the argument. MicukoFelton just proved your entire point incorrect. Get back to the kitchen.

  • @xXtubtubXx no he diddent all he did was disagre with me. lol nether of you have proved anything xD

you are all probs just asian enthusiasts how think japan shits rainbows lol.

  • @gorillaconna no, it's not even that. gothic is completley different from gothic lolita.

    gothic lolita is cute.

gothic is... not so much ahah :P

but yeah, gothic lolita IS an asian style ^_^

  • @innitoddsod no its not its a sub of gothik ... it was made in the west... its western xD

  • @gorillaconna firstly gothic was primarily a style of architecture, followed by the 'goth style' which is the western style. I stand by my comment, they are different.

  • @gorillaconna Lolita means more than the style of clothing. Elegance and modesty are part of it. "Western goth" and Lolita are not exactly alike. Lolis wont have heavy, messy black eyeshadow (maybe eyeliner), ripped clothing, safety pins, piercings, tattoos, jeans, or other things considered goth or "rocker" style. The only real similarities Goth and Gothic Lolita have are black clothing. Also, Lolita started and first gained popularity in Japan, therefore it is considered an Asian style.

  • @sudachinohi wrong... gothic lolita and loli both started in the west but it was just called goth. japan just chose to re-name it... that dosent meen they made it :P

  • @gorillaconna No. Right. And nothing about Classic Loli or Sweet Loli looks anything like Goth. Anyone can put on some black clothes and call themselves Goth. Lolita is a lifestyle. ;) Did you read a single word of my response? Lolita is an extremely specific, unique style, and quite different from your typical goth look. It doesn't even matter WHERE it came from though, does it? It's a lovely style regardless.

  • @sudachinohi I agree with every thing you just said except one thing. Not to be rude, but.... Goth is a lifestyle too. It's not just black clothes. Just sayin. But I do love lolita too. One of my friends is a lolita :)

  • @gorillaconna I'd also like to mention that Pink House, Milk and Pretty (later known as Angelic Pretty) started selling Lolita clothing in the 1970s. In Japan. You yourself pointed out that over here Gothic styles weren't really worn until the '80s.

  • @gorillaconna You don't know, don'tcomment. ^^ Doyour research. And yes,I DO know: I'ma Lolita. ^^

  • @sudachinohi Actuallywe canhavepiercings, tattoos, safetypins andstufflikethat, itdepends onthe style of loita you are wearing.^^

  • I'll admit it, the outfit is lovely but it isn't lolita.

  • o.o Cute but not lolita.

  • I don't know why some of you are making such a big deal about whether it's lolita or not. I think as long as you have fun with it and you don't care whether it's perfect of not, is all that matters. (Just because her skirt is a bit shorter than what you would wear, does not make it non-lolita)

  • 0:14 ewwww no no XD

  • short skirt is short.

  • fantastic clip

  • Would like to note that she says the look is merely inspired by Lolita fashion

    Chill, lolita gals!

  • Anoying voice

  • Oh my god.

    No.

  • That is way more VK(visual kei) than lolita. Her skirt is so teeeny tiny. It is a mini skirt in the shape of a bell skirt. A proper lolita skirt (unless punk or wa) is almost always no shorter than three inches above the knee. She still looked kawaii, it just was not lolita.

  • FOR THE LOVE OF CAKE NO NONONONONONONOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Please PLEASE don't call this lolita.

  • Sorry but... where are your Bloomers? And your skirt is a little too short for Lolita. That's not cute enough..

  • beautiful

  • Can I have your hand in marriage? :D

  • i love the felix the cat poster :D

  • i LOVE your hair!

  • Too short. D;

  • Ehm.. Gothic Lolita is not only black...

Victoirian Doll? Gothic Lolita isn't Aristocrat you know.

If you want to be a Victoiran Doll, be inspired by Hizaki from the band Versailles.

    And your voice is anoying....

  • @AngelsOfAnCookie Yes like what the person said down there she said inspired by loita fashion, so quit being but hurt over her type of stuff, have a nice day ^_^

  • not a proper lolita. do some research on the style first before you make a video like this. dislike.

  • @kittykat12211 o...o ? La Carmina is a cool hunter and a top fashion blogger. I'm quite sure shes done enough research. Perhaps you should have done yours and looked her up before leaving such a rude comment. She looks perfectly lovely! Keep it up La Carmina <3

  • @kuuchan12 that not the point this i notlolita at all weres the eleglance and modisty. her out fit is so cosplay it hurts if shehad done her reserch she would know skirt is WAY to short, not all black makeup and 1 pony tails are not normaly a lolitas first choice do YOU even know wat lolita is or do you think that the girl with the annoying voice isright over the real lolis that are say it is not!!!

  • @lolitaloveshetalia but still she never said she was a propper lolita -.-'

  • @M9243 she calls her self lolita in tons of her vids and the vid says Japanese Gothic Lolita fashion, hair, makeup implying she THINKS she knows what shes talking about and if im wrong then she shouldnt make a video like this then if she doesnt know wat shes talking about

  • @lolitaloveshetalia But she still said inspired. And when something is inspired by something they don't need to be 100% like the thing they are inspired form

  • @kittykat12211 Fuck UP

  • T^T my mom doesnt want me to wear any kind of lolita cuz she thinks its perverted.....but~! its sooooo me so im most likely gonna wear it anyway

  • LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you're going to make a "Gothic lolita" video, do it properly, or change the name and actually say "Gothic lolita INSPIRED look" because this is like totally Itai-lolita

  • Dress Fail!!

  • what the fuck? it's not true. learn lolita style more, girl.

  • where can i get those magazines in the us

  • @sarkura123 Order them online. it's the only way. You can also try contacting Borders/barns and noble but considering their recent business plunders, ordering the magazines online will be your best option.

  • @SuperLoli101 oh thanks so what web sight should i try

  • @sarkura123 Try amazon or just google "gothic lolita bible". I bought some of them a while back before I realized I cant sew for my life =__= and gave up lol. I'll inbox you if I find a direct link though :)

  • EHERE DID YOU GET THOSE MAGAZINES!?!? ME WANTS!!

  • I wonder where to get that mag in USA

  • @sakura55555115 try ordering from Borders or japan :P

  • CUTE!!

  • i realy love the shirt its so cute

  • If there is something I have learned from the look of Lolita, it is that everyone has their own opinion on how to dress in it. I would hate seeing 10.000 mini-manas running around the streets instead of 10.000 creative lolitas with their heart on the right spot. People who wants to attack my statement, think twice. Im not attacking the style, Im just saying that everyone thinks diffrentley and atleast according to me, that is quite a good thing.

  • GothLoliPunk plus MilitaryArmy plus "something else" is upcoming trend here in tokyo. GothLoli fashion was seen as silly and unstylish those days when i was young. but it has been unofficially admitted as one of the Japanese street styles(thanks to the foreigners like you who loves it so badly), and it's been mixed with other styles, as well. whichever you like it, or not, some new styles will be born from the GothLoli fashion this spring.! tokyo calling you.

  • I'm reading all these comments and I can't help but laugh. Many of you think you are a bunch of know-it-alls and probably haven't been to Japan in your life. Being a military brat, I have had the honor of living in Okinawa for 9 years now, and have had many vacation trips to mainland. What she's wearing is definately considered Lolita. I've seen girls dressing up on Kokousai Street, at Harajuku, in the Gothic Lolita Bible. Many of them look like this.

  • @kikiKREAM I'm sorry, but what you have seen is not lolita, but a revised version of it. Lolita's are meant to look sweet, young, pure, childish even. Even the gothic lolitas. Lolita is inspired by victorian style (mostly children's) clothing. This more of a mixture of gothic with lolita inspiration than actual gothic lolita. This is cute and will draw attention, but is not actually purely lolita. I hope I helped clear up some misunderstanding. :)

  • @Azreal1373 Not trying to sound mean. I'm sorry, but revised or not (or it's not "purely Lolita), it's still Lolita. Maybe it's not the classic style. But please consider purchasing for yourself the Gothic Lolita BIBLE and take a look.

If you don't consider this Lolita, that's cool, but Japan does.

  • @kikiKREAM I will look into the Gothic Lolita BIBLE, and if I like it I might just purchase it. :) As Mizuko said "Everyoen has their own opinion on how to dress in it." So for you and oethrs gothic lolita is this, for me and others it is similar. At least we can agree that not one look will be labeled teh same by everyone. :)

  • @Azreal1373 Yes, I agree. (:

  • @kikiKREAM Um... Japan DOESNT

  • @SuperLoli101 (.____.)"

  • @kikiKREAM Bell, cupcake, semicircular, or a-lined skirts, OP's and JSK's? Cutsews, scholar-like blouses, or any other blouse with a peper pan or high collar or some such? Skirts and dresses aren't shorter than four or five fingers above the knee? Petticoat and bloomers? Shoes and socks that compliment the outfit? No? then it's NOT Lolita. We have simple rules to follow, if you keep up with them, then you can call it Lolita, otherwise it's a HUGE no-no... even if it's Japanese.

  • @akissy Hm.... This comment is probably about some argument I don't remember. (.____.)"

  • This is very misleading and the information is not to be trusted. Her skirt is too short, and the makeup shouldn't be gothy and all-black. The only good thing about this is the Malice Mizer songs in the background. :(

  • @EchoesofDarkness22 YES! Someone that agrees with me! :'D

  • @EchoesofDarkness22 well, that's a common misconception, because compared to japan, america is really uptight about the loli fashion, especially gothic lolita. for example, in japan they'd use combat boots when wearing loli, but in america, they think they HAVE to wear mary jane's or any other commonly used loli shoes. It isn't bad to use your own unique style to add to goth loli ya know? just saying!

  • @EchoesofDarkness22 she said it was "inspired" by the style, that means it's her own interpertaion. :)

  • where did you get those shoes

  • OMG I WANT UR BLOUSE!! so kawaii <3

  • yeah uh gothic lolita skirts are knee-length and uhm,,, not so much make up

  • im waiting for my hair to grow cos i cut it and eregret it so bad,

I look like a dick withought long hair, and i look even more of a dick if i dressed up as my fav lolita aswell,

so in the meantime i gotta be a chav >:(

  • That's not exactly gothloli. in gothloli the skirts are usually knee length and that one was a little short. A lot of dark makeup is usually frowned upon in lolita fashion. It is also more about being cute and innocent than being "goth".

  • um i think your skirt is a bit short and that a more natural makeup would look better on you lacarmina.

  • Kawaii indeed. :3 She does look like a doll at the end. The makeup is fine. There are no lolita rules on make up. I've seen people go heavier.

  • Love the Moi Dix Mois :3

  • OMFG Malice Mizer songs!!! ><

-dances- I love them <3 <3 But I also love Lolita fashion and have a lot of Sweet Lolita x.x I never really got into the GL because I never though I would look well in it but I really want to give it a try now! =^o^=

  • I'm a lolita as well. This is a cute outfit, but there isn't rules on only black makeup.

A lot of the lolita style involves trying to look like a doll, but there aren't really rules for the makeup area. If there were I would say, pale up your face and put some light blush on for a doll look, sure eyeliner black would be a must, but dark colors other than black can be used as well. ((Some people use a blood red, dark violet, or a bruisy blue.))

  • is beautiful and very very Fun :D

  • @sephiroth7xx

Thank you soo much for such a quick reply ^^ I was desperate haha :3

  • Hey, I know one of the bands here is malice mizer but I can't remember what the song is called...any help guys please? Just when she's putting on the make up :3 x

  • @urbanislands

the first song is malice mizer tetsu era's baroque

the the second one is color me blood red (gackt era) then the third one is illuminati (gackt era) ^^

  • wow..i thought every lolita wears dresses...awesome video ^^

  • Um....*raises my hand shyly* Can I ask a question without being attacked please? D8 Does anyone now some good online Gothic Lolita shops? I've been using Milanoo so far....Some of the stores I find don't have a lot of selection. I'm a 16 year old black girl in America so it's not very conveniant....Maybe some wise elder Lolita will take me under their wing some day. XD I'm not very accepted anywhere. And I'm new at this... 8)

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul We all have that kind of feeling. xD For begining lolita and if you're not too worried about quality and more worried about the cost of outfits, go to bodyline (bodyline.co.jp) They're stuff is cheap but they have a wide range of things and different styles but their quality is far below brandname standards. But it's the perfect place to go if you're a begining Lolita (in my opinion) because they have different styles from sweet, punk to gothic. and you wont spend hundreds.

  • @SuperLoli101 Alright, thanks. 8D I went there and you're right, the store is pretty cheap. They have some good stuff there...but yeah I don't want stuff that will rip on me and such. XD I'll probably buy some stuff from there often, since I don't have a lot of money. Not a rich sixteen year old, you know? XD

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul Lol no problem xD They wont rip on you unless you try to stuff yourself in something that's not your size. I buy from there occassionally when i dont find something at BABY or AP. xP And the good thing about bodyline is that they have a wider range of shoe sizes and you'll usually get what you ordered in 5 days or less. :) All the stuff I got from there, I kept in good condition and worn them many times xD

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul

:O ahhh, i'm new to trying this style too. I always loved Gothic Lolita (over Sweet Lolita anyday) :D

It's also tough finding lolita-like things. :O But i'm gonna try my hardest! :) We should grow together! :D Lolita sisters<3

  • @darlingaiko Yeah, me too. 8D I wouldn't desribe my style as sweet, ever really. XD Yeah, lolita sisters. 8D I'm going to send you a friend invite.

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul I know a boutique that has US locations so u can look them up in your area or you can just order online. You can see their site in english. Its called Baby the Stars Shine Bright. Hope it helps!!

  • @mnNekogirl

Unfortunately, BABY and Angelic Pretty only have a store in San Francisco. And Last time I checked, they do not provide shipping services so you'll have to travel to San Francisco...

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul Oh no! Don't use Milanoo! They're ripoffs! Their dresses are commonly 'lace monsters' and usually nothing like what you ordered. I heard from elder Lolitas never to use Milanoo that site rarely gives you correct lolita, but cosplay stuff.

Try brand name places like 'Baby, the Star Shine Bright' or 'Angelic Pretty' or try and make your own Lolita.

If you've already ordered from Milanoo and it isn't what you ordered you can just alter that.

Or if you like it, then great :)

  • @NaruSakuSasuLver Yes, I had alright bought it before it was too late. TOT I was likem "CRRRRAAAAAPPPPP!!" I wasted $76 on boots from there. 8( Thanks for helping me. 8)

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul

OMG I'm a 16 year old black lolita too :*)

Milanoo is definantly a cheap rip-off site to say the least. To be safe, I use US outlet stores that carry Japanese fashion. Tokyo Rebel is a store in NYC that sells brand name lolita as well as othe punk and goth clothes. They ship across the US. I wouldn't buy anything lolita from ebay, but buying from the EGL community sales is always promising. I recommend checking out the livejournal communities EGL & lolitas.

    Best of luck!

  • @DanielleDeleasaGoDIE Really? O_O Yay, I'm not alone! I thought I was the only one. *jumps up and down* Does this Tokyo Rebel have a website? 8) Can you send me these links? Thanks 8D

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul Hi there! if your looking for some brand name gothic lolita clothing they might have an english website that you can use to buy their clothes and have them shipped over to you. but if your new i suggest using bodyline or anna house. they have some really good quality stuff and its not to expensive (thats where i get most of my clothes) hope this helps :3

  • @sasuke0491 Thanks for the help, yeah I've found a few websites. But, stores like Angelic Pretty who have an English website are too expensive for me. XD

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul lol same for me and even from anna house (which is cheep and really amazing) i had to save for months cause i dont have a job lol oh well. hope you find some

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul - Milanoo isnt the most safest place to buy from. There are a few gothic loli brands like Moi Meme Moitie and even Alice and the Pirates. These brands have their own online stores. Its probably easier to go through replica websites like Qutieland and pick your 'gothic' pieces out from the rest. A good place to learn and watch from lolitas is EGL on LiveJournal. They have FAQ, daily co-ord posts and you can ask your questions there. Hope this helps a little.
