@HiveshipCommander I've seen the show many times but I do not understand why immernooch Commander Lee Adama, the Pegasus he has the base star can fly! Pegasus could have easily run away with the Galactica!
@93Archangel The reason the Pegasus didn't jump away was because Lee flew into into the middle of all the Basestars to draw fire away from the Galactica but by the time the Galactica could jump the Pegasus's FTLs were offline and they didn't have the crew or the time to fix them so they did the next best thing.
really nice video. My favorite scene in the entire TV-show is when Tight gets down from the Raptor and meets Adama - very dramatic. It would have been good if you stopped the music when the battle is over but its your video, so anyway very nice work

Im not one to put my emotions out there usually, but BSG was a show that showcased humanities flaws and at the same time its incredible capability. This "plot" sequence is so incredibly...magnetic that you can't help but feel uplifted by the actions displayed by the heroes of Pegasus and Galactica.
Love this clip. Great music, great editing. The part when Galatica jumps into the atmosphere is the best scene of any Sci-Fi show/movie. Funny how they can do that when in the pilot a "jump" was such a big accomplishment.
@Judous: I think it wasn't so much that "jumping" was more difficult in the pilot, but more to do with the fact that it simply hadn't been done for a while. Remember that by the end of the first proper episode ("33") they had already performed hundreds of jumps, so they'd had plenty of practice by this point.
I know, it sucks BSG is gone. When the finale was over, I sat there and thought "fack, now I don't have shit to watch on TV anymore". BSG was incredible, and AMV's like these remind me why I loved it so much.
I always thought that this was the real way starfighters would have to fight it out in space, with thrusters always keeping the ship in the right direction and spinning around completely on the X Y or Z axis. none of these George Lucas movements where everything flies like a plane.
reader111089, hardly real at all. Space is vacuum, so Newton's Laws of Motion have alot of precedence. So unless you plan on fighting in a linear fashion, you will run out of propellant very quickly. Or your fighter will be bigger than the Galactica in order to hold all that fuel to dogfight. Don't get me wrong, BSG is a great story and fun to watch, but not real even in theory.
Considering this day and ages level of technology concerning fuel, yes of course its theoretically impossible for them to perform that long. I hate saying this because its the show was pure fiction, but who's to say in the future we won't find a fuel capable of pulling manuevers off like that for extended periods of time?

Ok that makes sense, but I wouldve wished to see the Pegasus and Galactica take on more cylons in some kick ass battle scenes. But I guess, the show is Batlestar Galactica , but none the less man, that last battle was epic.
Well, Pegasus had to be sacrificed in order to buy time for remaining civilian ships on new caprica to take off and jump to safety.you see galactica wasn't up to to the task even though she gave a good fight. Cylons would have destroyed her and then turned their attention the the civilian ships on the ground or in the orbit if it hadn't been for Pegasus.
Thank you, I sure it would have made it a more even fight if the Pegasus had survived, but hey, I love the show and couldnt have asked for a better ending then what they had in store for us. It is a brilliant show with the most well thought out plot. It will be a genuine classic for a long time to come, a paradigm shift in the way things will be made in the future.
The sight of the BSG falling through the atmosphere to me at least, outdid any SFX that George Lucas ever did for Star Wars. And Commander Tigh had more depth and balls than any frakkin' Jedi.

The operatic sound is natural for sci-fi. For someone to blare big sound through his tribute is hand-in-glove natural. I understand how the music for the original BSG is about the Colonial Fleet. The music for the re-imagined BSG is about the full epic plight of humanity. I also respect not wanting to alter the creation of an artist. That is a valid point. As part of a TRIBUTE I think it is acceptable.
Any reason why every single Battlestar Galactica Exodus video is butchered with added tacky music? Is it a copy rights thing, or are people just adding salt to an already perfect dish?
I'm pretty sure that media companies serve takedown notices for clips, but "tributes" and remixes are in a much murkier area that doesn't impact their bottom line as much, so they don't care.
I wish I had the software and hardware to try making my own videos. Some people just don't have enough of their own raw footage, let alone a SFX budget from their parents to be able to run high end graphics required for shows like Galactica. Honestly, what would your parents think if you build a battlestar bridge in the kitchen? Give the kids a break. One day all of this might pay off for them in ways that it won't pay off for you and me. If it pays their way through film school, so be it.

pegasus had to cover the civilian ships in galacticas place and by the time the cicis were all gone it was too badly damaged to jump I guess

Thank you, I sure it would have made it a more even fight if the Pegasus had survived, but hey, I love the show and couldnt have asked for a better ending then what they had in store for us. It is a brilliant show with the most well thought out plot. It will be a genuine classic for a long time to come, a paradigm shift in the way things will be made in the future.

The sight of the BSG falling through the atmosphere to me at least, outdid any SFX that George Lucas ever did for Star Wars. And Commander Tigh had more depth and balls than any frakkin' Jedi.

The operatic sound is natural for sci-fi. For someone to blare big sound through his tribute is hand-in-glove natural. I understand how the music for the original BSG is about the Colonial Fleet. The music for the re-imagined BSG is about the full epic plight of humanity. I also respect not wanting to alter the creation of an artist. That is a valid point. As part of a TRIBUTE I think it is acceptable.

I'm pretty sure that media companies serve takedown notices for clips, but "tributes" and remixes are in a much murkier area that doesn't impact their bottom line as much, so they don't care.

I wish I had the software and hardware to try making my own videos. Some people just don't have enough of their own raw footage, let alone a SFX budget from their parents to be able to run high end graphics required for shows like Galactica. Honestly, what would your parents think if you build a battlestar bridge in the kitchen? Give the kids a break. One day all of this might pay off for them in ways that it won't pay off for you and me. If it pays their way through film school, so be it.
