  • @BF3FAN565 Keely Smith was his wife... Doh

  • 2:39 my favorite part.

  • @dgrome They had great chemistry, eh? Could it ever be repeated?

  • he could hav picked a better girl but am i to judge a legend

  • Very cool!!!!!

  • chick held her own!!!!

  • @tweezee ....Hey,cat...nothing can compete with perfection,my friend.

  • A true Jazz genius - notice how he sings exactly like his trumpet plays - Where does that come from - it's not just training - it's genius.

  • I can't stop grinning ! .. I love them!!

  • I love their style! It makes me laugh even now, many decades later.

  • My wife & I were in Las Vegas in the early 1990's,wandered into a casino to

see Micky Rooney & noticed a pix of Garth Brooks on wall of showroom entrance. I mentioned that Garth had performed at our KC Opry in 1989,& the folks there

thought we were high rollers(we were broke),anyway gave us free meals, told us stories about when Howard hughes bought & lived in Hotel & gave us free tix to Keely Smith.w/Sam Butera & band.WOW!!! Best show I ever saw.Wish Louis was alive then. Can't even imagine

  • and i do wanna sticker!

  • Guys, let's face it . . . we pretty much agree, Keely & Louis (Luigi) were not from this planet, but they make this planet mucho happier!!

  • Seems to me that performers had more fun on stage back when.

  • I came here for Louis but now am seriously in love with Keely's voice.

  • Hahahaha I can't believe how awesome this is XDXDXD

They're messing around and it sounds AMAZING !!!!!!

I wish I saw that live XD I would have died of laughter XD

That's seriously amazing ... I wish music like that existed today :(

Thank you for uploading this :)

  • hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i love it

  • brilliant!

  • Indeed Swell job they both did.

  • Vot eto shtoto best!

  • Louis Prima's such a charmer. Easy to see why ladies would fall for him.

  • Amazingly spontaneous. They fit each other so well.

  • We need a weekly show like this nowadays.

  • As great as Ella or Sarah or Dinah or Doris!

  • keely smith was freaking beautiful man

  • @cdphatty IDIOT,WHAT ELSE WOULD A FOOL SAY IN THE FACE OF BEAUTY.

  • Stunning...wow what an act...and in Las Vegas they were the late show that all the Rat Pack went to after their own shows..to wind down... I adore the two of them...glorious.

  • @LushBudget I was the cinematographer/editor of the 1999 A&E Biography of The Rat Pack- got to meet and photograph the GREAT Ms. Smith for that show. I was born the same week as the Summit Shows in 1960!

  • Bad ass!

  • Supe! Louis, Keely and Witnesess.

  • freestyle battle

  • When I was kid I'd see them on TV and thought they were so cool. I thought she was beautiful and he was so funny. I think Sonny and Cher copied their "bit" many years later from Keely and Louis.

  • That's an incomparable show. I love it.

  • What we are missing in our era now is true showmanship with some exceptions. They could have just sang songs straight and been successful but they instead added humor and Prima had enormous energy and creativity. They could play all night long. But watch Cab Calloway, these cats, these were performers. They made you laugh, cry, stomp your feet, they knew how to open a show, close a show - when you left you thought you had seen the greatest show ever - and they could do it every night.

  • I know it was part of the act but I doubt most any other performer could have managed to sing the song totally straight during the first part without cracking up as Keely Smith did. This is one of the greatest (funniest and joyful) musical groups in all of show business history and it is sad that they are gone and there is nobody even close to this kind of talent these days.

  • XD I love ti

  • I love the personalities displayed.

  • yes it was her style to stand there w/a straight face but she was also American Indian and it came natual for her to look ahead w/out emotions.. LOl she was the greatest..have always loved her music with Louis... they were fantastic together.

  • @bronteteri native american so a natural black head ,,, Sweet

  • epic.

  • im 15 years old and i love their music :D can u believe that ? XD as u can see this tipe of music aint dead :D

  • Love Prima and Keely! Saw him in Ohio must've been 1970. If you can't get a laugh from them....you're dead!

  • Classic, what a great act & great music...

  • I remember listening to Keely in the late sixties and I've always thought what a beautiful voice! I've only just found these links about her - so thanks to denteITV2 and others for uploading the tracks

  • Louis and Keely have chunks of Sonny and Cher in their stool...

  • The precursors to Sonny and Cher?

  • @UA767 Yeah, Sonny and Cher basically took Louis and Keely's Vegas act and turned it into a tv show.

  • ya jaishree im 26 from ny but love this stuff especially with keely

  • You know what's funny, I read that while Louis was fun and great in public, in private he was a jerk to her. funny huh?

  • @jimmym02 - According to her, maybe. His last wife before he died Gia Maione in interview said he was very good to her in their marriage. Who knows what goes on in showbusiness marriages for sure. I think one thing that was confirmed was that Louis Prima was a womaniser throughout his career, the guy was married 5 times and had numerous affairs as well.

  • HAHAHAAAA Don't worry bout me couse I get along...

    LOL!!

  • So great and funny my lil sister and I had to watch it twice!

  • Lol haha trying not to laugh but soooooo super funny

  • cant watch it without smiling :)

  • can you believe i am a 23 year old black male from Detroit i might add and i love this mans music. Louis Prima is one of the best, if not thee best jazz players of all time. and alotta my elders wonder why i don't likr jazz or bigband....cuz its not like it was back N the 50' and 60's. now all i can find is elevator music lmfao

  • I think that would be because the radio stations in Detroit that play jazz play what I call jazz lite - not this bouncy music that makes you want to dance regardless of your blood alcohol level (meaning most of today's music requires a few drinks before I feel like dancing to it) Aren't you glad we have the internet?

  • @tweezee what does you being Black have to do with anything? And why would anyone care that you're from Detroit. You either like Prima or you don't. Please knock the "victim" nonsense off.

  • you don't understand what i mean...lol. all i am saying is you don't hear this kind of music at all where i come from. detroit is murder capital and there are no jobs here at all.....i really mean at all. all im saying is king louis is a name you don't here in a urban neighborhood. here or nowhere else. its more like hiphop and r&b ya know...no real jazz. i don't know nothing about victims lmao

  • @KipJordy1 detroit is a good example of new world order agenda of ruination of america.they want to do it all over, keep populace marginal and weak, with no resouces or hope, depressed and in squalor with destruction all around them. to have grown up in detroit over the last 20 years or so must have been a experience demoralizing experience that only a good inner structure/compass could overcome, homes cheap there . heroin hi qualitry and cheap...

  • @tweezee A 23 year old black male from detroit!? no way!

  • @tweezee I'm Italian and I happen to love rap and my all time favorite James Brown.

Of course I love this kinda' music too. There were guys like Frank Sinatra,Luise Prima ,Dean Martin that made me proud to be Italian.

  • @deakybb where do you come from first of all in italy i come from sicily and louis prima and dean martin happen to also be sicilian

  • @TheChicagogodfather my grandmother is from Piazza Amerina,Sicily. My grandfather from Naples. They met in America. I remember the big Italian weddings and holidays when every relative came over and the great food.

I kinda' miss that... my grandparents were Italian Americans, my parents were American Italians and I'm American...

  • @deakybbmy famiglia comes from vizzini and corleone

  • @TheChicagogodfather Do you speak Italian at all? Parli italiano?

When I was a kid they sent me to visit the relatives back in Napoli. It was great I wish I could do that again...

  • @deakybb no im fluent in the sicilian dialect

  • @tweezee stupid comment

  • @BlacknesUnforgivable why is that?

  • @tweezee dark skin male, man

  • @tweezee well, youv'e certainly got good taste.

  • @tweezee Really? who cares? what do you want a sticker or a cookie?

  • @tweezee Thats awesome. I'm glad to hear that and thanks for not being afraid to be honest. It seems alot of people are afraid to admit that they like certain things because they follow what the media tells them to and are scared of being laughed. I wanna hear this type of real, raw energy in music come back vs. this robot sounding vocals overtop of "bum-cha, Bum-cha, Bum-cha" beats. Spread your love of this music to those that are missing out on it, Grazie --P of NJ

  • @tweezee i'M IN MY 60S BLK AND LOVE HIM TO.YOU HAVE GREAT TASTE.

  • @tweezee Very well put. :-) A legend!!

  • PERFECT! X-PERT!

  • keely smith is amazing!!

  • this has got to be the funniest thing i ahve seen in a long time....He kills it! And she is beautiful..

  • king louie at his best... love it

  • I watch this clip like 3 times a week. It always makes me smile.

  • Sonny and Cher had the same manager as Prima and Keely, hence the same act. Cher was deadpan, and Sonny ran around here in circles.

  • It's the act. They were great.

  • Yes, they are playing it up. She is the straightman/woman to his wild man antics. With her steely manners and sultry voice, it totally works against his wild devil may care antics. If you doubt it, look at other videos of them, live or otherwise on here. You'll see her play with her hair, roll her eyes, making faces...it's awesome. If they both played it straight, or both wild, would we be talking about it as much? It worked for n Martin and Lewis, Hope and Bing, Lucy and Ricky....

  • chill out guys it's part of the act. listen and watch her she loosens up in the middle. it's part of the act. I think it's awesome, she mimick's him later 1:34- 2: 05 "hot dog" and flailing her arms! Chill out. They both seem like they are having the best time. thank God you weren't there!

  • Its part of the act... :) Yes. Thats correct.

  • i honestly don't see how he meessed up as thats what his act is always like, i thought this was a great performance

  • Get a freakin' life. Her seriousness was part of the act - it was a character that she developed - as was his wildness. Plenty of people sang the song, go listen to their versions if you don't like this one. Move along.

  • They were so good at it, just take a look at Sonny and Cher if you want to see another couple who used their "routine". I loved it and them!

  • aaah! cool

  • Great!

  • Saw Keely tonight with jive aces still singing over 80 what a great lady and also keelys and louis daughter toni elizabeth great see them all back in uk

  • One of the greatist acts ever. These two were made to preform together.

  • i can see louis has more charisma and fun with keely on stage rather than his last wife, gia. but RIP to him, love him to the max!

  • Nobody in the entertainment business can compare to Louis and Keely. Simply the best!

  • Did they ever make a movie about Louis Prima's life?

  • All of it is brilliant, Louis Prima Bring excellence to everything he's in.

    God rest his soul

May his music & memory live on forever

  • they are absolutely amazing

  • I like the way it's all a big joke, but then they top it off nicely to show they can actually be professional.

  • Haha, that was so funny! Brilliant. (:

  • I love it !!

  • "I'll get by" is one of my favorite Keely Smith songs!! Beautiful, Powerful voice and an attitude to match!!

  • My god, she is beautiful!

I admire their partnership. But she could have been so much more if only Louis could have let her cut a few albums on her own.

  • She recorded plenty of albums solo - she still tours and was in UK last summer performing

  • Look at jive aces with keely smith uploaded on here

  • they do not make um like that...unless your out there my Louie

  • she is beautiful. he is a riot.

  • LOL I almost cried laughing when she started making fun of his singing, I love this act

  • fantastic

    -Emile

  • How does she keep the song straight with his crazy act? It is cute

  • God, they are so amazing together.

  • What a pair. I love that he CAN'T STOP DANCING. love him.

  • Love these two!! Keeley's voice is still pretty good

  • boy I wish I was able to see them LIVE. They were the act in vegas that all the celebrities went to see after they performed.

I did actually see Jackie Wilson live , also a great performer. Great Post

  • Louis Prima and Keely Smith one of the greatest entertainers of all time
