The M3 licence is too easy, getting access to the every band with no effort needed. The M3s I,ve come across think Ohms Law is somethink you do when moving house! The twats at the RSGB has doomed Amateur Radio for the sake of numbers. Quantity not Quality! Make my words, 3 or 4 years time, Amateur radio will be another form of CB radio. As far as I,m concerned, M3s are not Amateur radio Licence holders, they might as well get the callsigns from Toys R Us

I passed it easily....but then with BSc Electronic Engineering already under my belt it was a 'scoosh'. Good job I didn't expend any effort getting my licence cos then I would have been disappointed!

LOVE amateur radio... HATE contests!! Come the weekend, a bit of free time to play radio and have a chat... switch on.. WALL TO WALL contest stations over the WHOLE band!!!! I am very much live and let live but contesters are the most selfish hams I know, thats why you find them on SSB in the CW section.. Total Dickheads.

And if you hate contests so much surely you can find something else to do for a weekend (the dates a published months in advance you know) There is alot more scope to ham radio other than HF.
