It a style of music that defy's genre... It cant be categorized... This band is as unique as Tool... I dont know where my head was for missing out on music that inspirationnal
@Firebirdshite They are sort of in a way, Queen told stories through out their lyrics and songs. All of their CD's are Acts and each song is a scene and not only are they interesting but they're unique and make BEAUTIFUL music. They don't try to follow anyone's trend which I LOVE.
@ASonOfRevolution They are definitely Progressive, I wouldn't say Ambient but close, it's more like experimental, and DEFINITELY indie lol. Also I'd say Alternative
@sam9008 I can see a little bit of King Crimson in the rolling rhythms that makes The Dear Hunter's sound. I agree about the experimental part. Which is what makes it so great. When you have people creating music, it is about pushing the limits; making new sounds. When I uploaded this video I did not expect to get as many views as I have. So thank you guys for getting into TDH. Spread them!
@ASonOfRevolution Well I mean the only reason why it's Progressive and Alternative (mainly) is because of how unique they are and they have jazz implied in their music (which is progressive). Thanks though for putting these songs up, I haven't had enough money to buy their albums yet, and I don't know where to even get them. They're never at hot topic or anything :(

A good way to describe them is Out Of Body Rock. It kinda suits it, don't you think?

Well, regardless they're amazing.

What kind of music are they?
ROCDUC 1 year ago
Most people categorize them somewhere between Indie, Ambient Rock, and Progressive Rock.
ASonOfRevolution 1 year ago
@ASonOfRevolution
or experimental rock, the whole "The Dear Hunter" story is just one big, epic, instrument-driven, rock-opera. :)
joemcbobinite 1 year ago
@ASonOfRevolution IIIII would consider them Progressive Caberet Music =]

indie is short for independent. pretty silly label for the way something sounds.
thevoid330 1 year ago 2
@ASonOfRevolution I wouldn´t even categorize them ;) they make their own sound. act III sounds a bit like queen, but with teir own style :D

@ASonOfRevolution Is it just me, or do they sound a little bit like old Genesis' Selling England by the Pound?
SecondEgoMusic 8 months ago
@sam9008 I would classify them as more Progressive than experimental.
fr2ncm9 1 year ago
@ASonOfRevolution They're also considered experimental rock.

@hcvideoproductions I don't think they have a defined genre, because it can go from Indie Rock Band to orchestral masterpiece easily
