David Suzuki is a self rightous big mouth that is using this global warming scam to fill his pockets with the money from the little guy that thinks he is helping the cause. The David Suzuki foundation takes in over $10,000,000.00 per year and their overhead is about $5,500,000.00 and only about 2million ever makes it to any cause. $5.5 million in overhead, that is not a charity, it is big business and people are getting rich from it.
Whats the ulterior motive to sign the Kyoto Protocol? Can anyone give me some?
Whats the ulterior motives to NOT sign it. The U.S. is extremely dependent on use extreme amounts of energy. The economy needs to use alot of energy to keep it running.
Tell me why would people lie about global warming?
When Kyoto equally applies to all countries than maybe it can be considered but the fact that it gives certain countries exemptions it is silly. David Suzuki is an idiot.
No YOU are the idiot. If all countries should be treated the same then the US with 300 MILLION people should only be allowed to emit the same as Seychelles with 84 THOUSAND people? I'm sure you wont disagree with that then eh?
This is yet another pig ignorant Exxon talking point that is used to capture the delayist non thinkers.
China has 4 times the population, manufactures US goods and hasn't yet industrialised while the US has been polluting for more than a century... sheez...
Kyoto is the usual mistake made by folks who do not understand what they are up against. The real power game is played by those who "own" the earth and to whom we have given the right to charge the rest of us for access to our own planet thus enriching them and making us slaves. Question this and the powers that be will fall over themselves to implement Kyoto in order to save their free lunch. To not question what is indefensible is to enable it all the while claiming victimhood. Get real.
we only have 20 years to act or the possible elevations in the worlds temp will be self sustaining and iriversible. Immediate action must be taken NOW on the issue. hard core decisions which will change the way we live will need to be made. in some way it all starts with society.we need to change the way in which we think about how we are living.
k so, its kind of nieve of the many people who are blaming different country's. Just like when David used the anology, "were driving towards a brick wall and were all arguing where were gonna sit" And for the matter of the earth is cooling: its definietly getting warmer in certain areas and colder in other areas. (thats why its called climate change). And its interesting how you used brainwashed, which is pretty much calling every world leader brain washed.
all targets may not be met but atleast there are targets and there is a world wide cooperation between nations. However...we cannot dance around the issue of climate change 4eva..
I know they meant well but the original authors of the U.N. really screwed up. This is not their roll they think they have more pull. On a U.S. list of things to be concerned with the U.N. ranks like 247th. Don't they see that.
Kyoto is supposed to give developing countries a chance to develop. Greens here are demanding coal sanctions against poor countries like China and India. But India and China are legally allowed to import coal and food under Kyoto.
Global warming is a real threat and needs real solutions. Australian green party policy is to sign Kyoto and break any of its conditions which don't suit thier extreme insane ideology.
CO2 emission sources: Oceans-------59.5% Decaying vegitaion----17.9% Plant and animal respiration--17.9% Human made----4.7% (factories, cars, fireplaces, breathing, etc.) The human input of CO2 into the earth is insignificant compared to natural sources, i.e. 4.7% to 95.3%. Quit worrying about global warming.
The Oregon Petition — signed by 18,000 scientists world-wide states:
"There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate."
Suzuli is completly off the wall on this one. The Tories are on the right track. Killing KYOTO is the smartest thing done yet. Canada's impact is only 2 to 3% of the worlds polutants. We could only make our commitment by throwing money at the third world countries.
Right not just the third world, but Russia the worlds largest energy exporter. What the hell is wrong with David by the way many of the EU signatories will not meet their goals, even more where out done by the USA per Cap.
Only countries accounting for 1/5 of the world's population are held to limits under Kyoto. Even if the science behind it were solid (it is not - it is in very serious doubt) the agreement would accomplish virtually nothing yet cost OECD countries $1 trillion a year (Ref - George Taylor, U of Oregon)
It's not mentioned in this short clip but it's much easier for some countries to reach their Kyoto targets than others because the targets are often different. Some countries are totally exempt. Ironically, i think Canada is one of the countries that won't meet it's target
People need to hear more about this in the US! It's sad that so many people have not even heard about events like the Kyoto agreement. It should be on the news everywhere, as it is a subject that will greatly affect the lives of the next generation.

The credential of the report is doubtful, and the National Academy of Sciences stands clear on that.
Oregon_Petition on Wikipedia:
"... the manuscript was not published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences or in any other peer-reviewed journal." And
"The petition does not reflect the conclusions of expert reports of the Academy."
