i just got here its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. FIrst of all no native is going to do anything stupid because frankly we are this area's life blood. Secondly, if you are looking for a medical school with five star beaches or bars, or casinos then this is definitely not the school for you. and Jamieandsdam Carribean is higher ranked than both Aussies and Ireland...At least with ross i can practice anywhere in the US...frankly its med school do what you gotta do and you'll be fine.
@abeed87 that is, if you can get a residency. with acgme closing out DO's, who are preferable over carib grads and are actual US grads, from their matching, what do you thinks going to happen to fmg? in 4 years? haaaa good luck!
That looks nice to me in all honesty. I'm an outdoorsy "rough it" kind of guy, and so long as theres the "rec room" and a gym, I couldnt care less about the surroundings or low budget, so long as I can practice in the US
@hackingtime88 I only stayed one semester. They're program just wasn't for me. If you want a quick MD, this is your place. I hate to say anything bad about the school but I can't say that I would recommend it.
@TheJamieandsam What was it that you didn't like about Ross, and where did you wind up going to finish your medical studies? I got out of MUA because I felt the program was horrible. I was considering Ross after hearing nothing but good reviews about it, but I also want to hear some of the bad reviews.
@iMaKeUsHoOk Ross blows, its nothing but a bunch of petty admins and professors that hate you for some reason, hence all the lame rules and worthless mandatory crap they pile on you you that doesn't relate to you main objective, becoming a Dr. Ross is the antithesis of simple and the island is definitely in need of development, which is strange since the students bring a lot of cash to the locals yet some still treat you poorly.
Oh wow, thank you for the feedback. I felt the same way at MUA. The faculty seemed like they were doing us a favor by doing their job. The professors were all fresh off the boat from India and barely spoke English. I can get used to living in a Caribbean environment, with the black outs and the stray animals etc. but what about the actual teaching staff? Were the professors truly helpful or did you find it easier to study on your own? Also if you dont mind me asking: where did you transfer to?
@menofsin wtf r u white cause only white ppl will think jus bcus u hav money ppl r suppose to worship u...u arent god. n i live in canada i hav a good income n i still get attitude everywhere ...get off ur highhorse sum ppl r nice others aint,,,,n its far frm 3ed wrld go to slums in the states retrd
@hackingtime88 I'm currently a 4th, and many students here and in higher semesters are very happy with the program, those that can "hack" the program anyway. This is a weeder school, and not everyone is cut out for it. Hence why some people leave after only 1st semester. Any US hospital you go into, you will find Ross Graduates in any specialty. Ross is ranked within the top 3 Caribbean Medical Schools, and they are ranked just after US medical schools. I would highly recommend Ross.
@rpl02001 thanks for your comment. It's good to get lots of opinions on something. If four people see an accident, there will be four different stories as to what happened. I was only speaking about my experience and I personally did not like the program or the 3rd world-ness.
@rpl02001 LOL at all the LIES. One look at ValueMD shows all of the subpar students ross lets in and the graduates who cannot find residency. Majority of Ross graduates are in primary specialties, one anesthesiologist grad in 10 years is the exception, not the rule. Only 50% graduate. Diploma mill. "Ranked within top 3 caribbean schools" Geeze what an HONOR lmfao! Ranked just after US medical schools? On what list, what ranking? PLEASE provide me with that!
They put a door there? In that hallway which leads to the bank and Subway etc? In my 4 semesters there, there was never a door there. How are you liking it so far? If I'm not mistaken, you guys start your semester on Monday already huh? You live really close to the school. I was kind of hoping you lived a little farther so I could see more. You'd be in second right? Classroom 5 became the 1st semester classroom if I'm not mistaken.
