  • He talks so fast, doesn't fumble over words and he's not looking at any notes! He has a gift a believe! :-)

  • Mark driscoll you are such an inspiration!

  • Love this! God bless Mark Driscoll. Love the man. Pray he'll always stay true.

  • it depends on who and why you kill.

  • Love it. Truth all the way.

  • How can you discern?

Um...... by their fruits you shall know them?

Did you listen to the scripture that this video was addressing?

Now of course you can not discern from a small sample and are not to judge people but situations.

But as the scripture says bad trees do not produce good fruit.

So you may know someone you don't agree with on some issues but if they are producing good fruit then you need to look at that.

  • i dig it.

  • Driscoll presents an interesting claim here. If I understand him correctly based on the "good fruit" passage, Christianity makes people behave better "from the outside in".

Notice that this is an empirical claim - it can be measured. So, if we were to conduct a large-scale survey of Christians and non-Christians, measuring crime rates and antisocial behavior, do you think there would be a significant difference between the groups? How would he explain it if there was no difference?

  • @inf0dump True-it is an emperical claim. Do you know what isn't one, though? The number of people who are Christian in name only vs. the ones who are Christian in spirit as well.

Many, many of the people I know who identify themselves as Christian only mean that they were raised to believe that there is a God. They don't go to church unless someone makes them and when they're there they don't listen, yet they call themselves Christian. How will you distinguish between them and true believers?

  • @feioo Good question! How DO you distinguish between true believers and Christians in name only? I'm honestly asking, because I don't know the answer. It seems that all believers probably think they are "true" believers. If believers themselves can be wrong, then who can know for sure?

  • @inf0dump Well, that's the thing, isn't it? It's not quantifiable. I have no right to decide whether or not someone is a true Christian; I can't see what's in their heart. Only God and perhaps they themselves can judge that.

I think, though, that most people who are Christian-in-name-only never get that far. They call themselves Christians because their mom dragged them to church when they were kids, not because of any personal salvation, so they honestly just don't think about such things.

  • Truth

  • It's supposed to be "murderers" not "murders"

  • Not gunnu lie, probably one of the best clips from Driscoll I've ever seen in my opinion.

Really articulates grace & the gospel well

  • this was so good

  • whoo hoo...I'm the first to see this video :D

I really do like the message of this video.

  • @FoxyAshley07 I thought i was.

  • @alehug maybe :D
