  • Such an underrated artist...

  • people forget that apart from this ridiculously good singing, george is one of the best guitarists to ever walk the planet.

  • lindo demais!! essa música é uma viagem sem passagem!

  • George Benson yeaaaaaaaaaaah.................

  • I used to have an arrow in my knee, then i listened to this song

    DOESNT MATTER,I GO ON

  • I remember when I first heard the Whotney version, I said "She can't sing that! It's George Benson's song!" Eventually, Whitney made me forget George Benson. Watching this video made me remember how much I loved the original. I'm starting to forget the Whitney version now.

  • MY anthem of all time! As well as should be everyone's else as human beings.

  • @SolidRockTelevision I agree totally, closely followed by I Will Be - Christina Aguilera

  • One of the best songs ever. George Benson is one of those rare talents which come once in a life time.

  • there is no other song that talks about how to learn to love yourself and with such background

    and harmony

  • TREMENDOUS ! LOVE DIVINE IS ALWAYS WITHIN ! onlinemeditation . org

  • This is the original singer of this song, it wasn't popularized until Whitney Houston recorded her version of it. It's always wonderful to hear the original version of the song.

  • makes me tear up everytime!

  • God knows what all the fuss was over Whitney Houston's rendition of this classic, when you hear the original. A truly inspirational song by the Master.

  • @GillsFan55 i couldn't agree more..sung with soul and feeling and not shouted..

  • simply the best!

  • Enjoy.

  • His nose just gets smaller and smaller.

  • my favourite Benson Song!

  • I like her voice!!

  • I like when Eddie Murphy did it lol But this is the best though

  • With the way things are going in my life at the moment there is some weird synchronicity going on also - I was meant to discover this song

  • I saw George live in Sydney and took my two sons then about 28 and 29 who I had introduced to his music. Forget all this hip hop crap...........this man is "Mr. Music" is all they could say. The audience would just not let him leave the stage !!!!

  • Lea Salonga the singing voice for Jasmine-disney Alladin did recorded this song too in1981 when she was probably 9 years old. check her for this song.

  • Beautiful and touching :)

  • When was this masterpiece recorded- check out George and Jill Scott- doing Summertime Live- recently- PERFECTION

  • El señor Benson es sin duda alguna el mejor, la señora Houston hizo una buena version pero le falta !!!!

  • Great Guitar player and Vocalist!!!

  • my dad used to sing this as my lulaby to make me sleep <3

  • Great Great, whitney was great to. I love the original because he mean it.

  • houston butchered this song by comparison.

  • there isn't any blessing this guy wasn't born with!!! his parents must have been great people to have recieved such a gift from god!!!

  • It is definitely a great honor of meeting and be able to assist as you and Al Jarreau when the both of you had a concert here in Manila,Philippines few years ago. Thanks a million for the fun memories and the opportunity of personally meeting the both of you.

  • @tristantupaz

wow when was that Thats great sana balik siya Pilipinas

  • @Darthymerej No word yet amigo. Hopefully when they are able to make another project bro. It sure was a great honor of meeting them few years ago.

  • This is my all time fav song. And I don't understand people comparing Whitney or George's versions. I'm just glad that 2 of the most incrediblly talented artists of our time covered this amazing song. Twice the level of appreciation as far as I'm concerned. I love 'em both. And Andy Abraham did a pretty good version too I recall.

  • This song inspired me when I was 12 years old. Even until this day, I love it, because the lyrics are so powerful and heartfelt. At that young age you don't know enough to know you don't know anything, but after I heard this song, I repeated the words over and over until I believed in them. It so inspired me and I am so grateful that George Benson through this song showed me the way to ultimately believe in myself. I can never say thank you enough...Thank You!

  • greatest love of all - l'amore più grande di tutti. oggi ho capito il vero senso della parola "meraviglioso" e ancor di più quello della parola "amore" TI AMO

  • fav song of all time - ty

  • pathetic to people who dislike this

  • the best version is from RANDY WATSON & THE SEXUAL CHOCOLATES.

  • my man george.....

  • They should do an Usung on him

  • George owns this rendition hands down

  • Whitney is truly the voice, but somehow, I like George Benson's original better. Somehow to my ears, it has more soul, depth, meaning when he sings it.

  • George hit #24 in Billboard, 10-8-77. From the fim, 'the Greatest', 'bout Muhammad Ail. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • the only original genius singer and guitarist to make it the hard way no x factor or britains got talent here the best

  • Ascoltala e mantieni la promessa.... hihihi bacissimi

  • whitney is the best for this song hands down

  • Truth in a song...

  • Many people think Whitney and only Whitney sang this song. George had the honor of singing it first!

  • classic song!

  • Totally, I mean totally under-rated. A tremendous talent. We don't hear from him often enough. Smooth as silk; reminds me of Johnny Desmond of the 40's. Great band behind him too; really in sync !!

  • i think Randy Watson from "Coming to America" did it best! lol

  • voice

  • The Greatest is the title of Muhammed Ali's Autobiography. I'd heard that the Champion had something to do with the writting of the song. It is a landmark song originally presented by a landmark artist in George Benson

  • I wish men would sing like this again! George sang the original hit on this amazing song, and it still sounds incredible listening to it today! What a vocalist! Wow!!!

  • Whitney killed this song... she should have be \en charged!!!

  • Never tire of this version . George is wonderful and the songs has the best lyrics ever !!!

  • My favorite song, the song of My life. ..cause the love of all is inside me...

  • Who else can sing along with his guitar like George Benson? Answer: Nobody.

  • Timeless. Period!

  • why is there a dislike button ??

  • @s3enu Chuck Norris could only manage 15 dislikes against George Benson

  • George ,tu seispeciale, diverso, sei nato cosi ,e chi ti ascolta si emoziona graziedavvero.

  • you are right my man george is among the best. i could listen to him all night, unfortunalty i have to get some zzz''s in. i'll sign off by saying that htey can't take away my dignity.

  • excellent voice....love it!

  • @peb817

You should hear him sing "Nothing's Gonna Change my love for you." You probably heard it anyways! But George voice is just fantastic! It's timeless!!!!

  • That was a Great performance

  • simplemente fantastico !!!

  • Wow! Incredible!

  • Holy crap!!! he wrote this song too?!

  • Who could dislike this?

  • ok @princewilliams25 i agree wit ya whitney did a MARVELOUS job however im wit everyone else whitney wouldnt been able 2 try an top it if the original artist ( george benson ) had not recorded it 1st and made it a hit

  • Gee, really folks??? Musical performance and listener opinions of "who's better" is all about interpretation and personal taste. C'mon, George and Whitney both interpreted this song in their own ways. Y'like one over the other? Fine....listen to that one. Me, I prefer.... both. ;-)

  • PrinceWilliams25, if it weren't for the original version (circa 1978, from the soundtrack The Greatest/the movie about Muhammad Ali), Whitney would have

    one less masterpiece to cover.

  • @BruklynG well ur entitle to ur opinion but that song wasn't that known until WHITNEY stamped all ova it. and he did sing the song good but not anywhere close to Whitney perfection. very few ppl knew he did that originally...thats y i would give it to Whitney her version evokes everything a song is supposed to do.

  • i have been know this song since 1978. its very nice.

  • This version didn't do anything for me sry jus being honest.........WHITNEY TOOK HIS SONG AND MADE A MASTERPIECE.

  • @princewilliams25 I have to disagree. It was already a masterpiece when Whitney recorded it....i loved this song .....her version was the reason i bought her first album....and in turn discovered Whitney....and have been a huge fan ever since.....but give props where they are due....George made it a classic.

  • pega esse arranjo de piano !

  • I didint know Whitney H. stole this song from GB!!!

  • i love this song... tiene una comnotacion enorme para quien la conoce... como un tema musical para la banda sonora de la pelicula de Mohammed Ali, ... nada que decir un tema muy apasionante...

  • I love this version of GB...so cool. George is so cute here...he reminds me of my ex...

  • esta es la mejor cancion de todos los tiempos..

  • no offense whitney, but this is the only version worth listening to, and it's not even close...

  • @skontch1 if that were true, you wouldnt be bringing up her name. its okay if you prefer his version, but u don't have to put Whitney's down to do that, okay? if it is as good as you say it is, then it can stand on its own, right? Right...

  • @WH012 ..take a deep breath my friend. i'm not putting whitney down. i love her, and think she's an amazing talent. however, i brought up her name because she's the one most people think did this song, and imho, (though admittedly i stateded it a bit strongly), this is by far the better version. now, let's all get along, and enjoy great music...

  • @skontch1 No, you were putting Whitney down. "no offense whitney, but this is the only version worth listening to, and it's not even close..." his version is the only version WORTH listening too? If you "love" Whitney, like you say u do, you would have never said that. So you did put Whitney down, even if you didn't mean it. look if u don't like what other people think, that's fine. but don't go after the artist, just because of things the fans say.

  • @skontch1 /whitney was manufactured by her family and friends,. george was real and up-front, A tru personal recorder. so here we go.

  • La versión de George Benson Me parece una de las mejores

    ¡Un tío grande!

  • THE BEST !!!

  • hes so good but Whitney rocked the song !!!!!!!

  • Бэнсон МОЛОДЕЦ!!!!

  • Respect!!! I just watched on Broadway. Man this guy has so much talent. Fantastic, unbelievable skills at the guitar but also his voice!!!

  • Estoy buceando en mis recuerdos. ¡NO ME DESPIERTEN!

  • I like Whitney but the original By my man George Benson is the best hands down.

  • HOOAH!

  • George is the master....he first appeared on Broadway at the age of 6..yes six he is the best modern day jazz "artist" of all time.....no one will ever replace this man....treasure his music now and forever more......George is a modern day Icon. LONG LIVE GEORGE BENSON.

  • Whitney Who??

  • i'm dying...his voice is velvet!!

  • those good old days when the air waves were graced with great talents..

nowadays music is just so.. evil.

  • good singer, but not even close to the grace of Whitney Houston

  • George sang this song with anointing, Whitney don't even come close!! Case closed!!!

  • @havanakings Anointing? WTF? He's a major musician - he knows his craft and he sings the shit out of it. That's skill, hard work and sensitivity. Superstitious anointing has nothing to do with it.

  • He is very intelligent in his singing !

  • Wow...some of you are really cranky and don't play nice with each other! Now go to your rooms and think about it for a while! LOL

  • I LIKE IS WONDERFULL

  • @don1mega and @randomhajile11

"Greatest Love of All" is an inspirational song written by Michael Masser and Linda Creed and performed first by George Benson and later, Whitney Houston. Creed wrote the lyrics in the midst of her struggle with breast cancer. The words describe her feelings about coping with a terminal illness and being a young mother. Creed eventually succumbed to the disease in April 1986 (at the age of 36).

  • @braddles03114

Thanks that is the right answer

In fact the version George sang in the "Weekend in LA" Album 1977 (Recorded live at Roxy Hollywood) was its launching pad

  • @braddles03114 Thanks for sharing that , you learn something new everyday.

  • before seeing this video I did not believe that George Benson had one of the most beautiful male voices ever.

  • no matter who sings it as long as they sing it with feelings to make the audiience or the viewers happy

  • George Benson did the best version of this song. He has such a lyrical voice...Jae Smith :)

  • @Empowered2P wow i really like this song,i'm so touch.

  • @liezeltvillar | Thank you. I am glad that you liked the song by George Benson. Please forgive the lateness of my reply...have a Merry Christmas this season! Yours, Jae Smith :)

  • @Empowered2P Your welcome...it's okay...have a Merry Christmas this season too...Yours, Liezel Villar :)

  • This song was originally popularized by George Benson in the year 1977. This song was also the theme in the movie "The Greatest" by Muhammad Ali. In 1986, this song was recorded by Whitney Houston which happened to be the side B of her single "You Give Good Love" but instead of promoting the YGGL, whitney often sings " The Greatest Love of All" ... So this song is not for a female only, aside from the writer of this song is a male it's original singer is a male too. it's an inspirational song

  • great allways

  • @michaux6000 ALWAYS

  • I'm sorry but a guy should NOT be singing this song, reminds me too much of eddie murphy, SEXUAL CHOCOLATE!!! SEXY CHOCOLATE! (LOL)

  • @don1mega a guy wrote the song

  • @don1mega hey dummy George Benson is the original singer of this song.

  • @randomhajile11 Hey! DICK FACE! Who you calling a dummy. Just because someone does not know a certain fact about the billions of songs that are in existence, does not make them a dummy. i have been DJ'ing for about 25 years, so I AM SURE there is somethings that I know, That you do not. Does that make YOU a dummy ? No!!!!! But you're still a DICK FACE!

  • @don1mega oh yeah right. you been a DJ for 25 years? i don't think so. at least not in america. if you don't know who made this song.

  • THE LOVE OF GOD IS THE GREATEST LOVE!!!.

  • hehehe

    msbfd can't play a Kazoo

  • Oh my gosh when he started singing I thought I accidentally clicked on a Stevie Wonder video!

  • He's a brilliant singer, and for some reason lots of people like the words, but they make me gag.

"They can't take away my dignity" - as soon as they find out what older song that musical phrase is a direct ripoff of, they sure will...

"People need someone to look up to"?

"Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all"?

Too bad, the guy used to be an amazing guitar player.

  • @msbfd GB didn't write the words. And what do you mean "used to" be an amazing guitar player?

  • @monkeys350 George benson is a great guitar player, check his playing out,

and who the hell are you to judge him when every body in the music industry has lots of regard of him as a great musician.

  • @perfect1976j lol no you got me all wrong, I was talking to someone who said that he used to be a great guitar player, and I was thinking he didn't "used to be" because he still is. George Benson is actually one of my biggest idols :)

  • @monkeys350

Oh I am so sorry, I miss understood you, My apologies. I guess I was too quick to respond.

  • @perfect1976j Eh, it happens to everyone...

  • @monkeys350 He died.

  • @Zconk No he's still alive

  • @monkeys350 Sorry I made this error and tried to delete it. I don't know why it didn't delete but GB is alive and very well. A songster and musician who has been able to finesse a song whether using his instrument of guitar or vocal.

  • @Zconk Definitely! Have you heard his new album Songs and Stories? It's great! Time has had no effect on his musical qualities and talents.

  • @monkeys350 I guess I'll put it on my Wish List real soon. Thanks for the recommendation.

  • @msbfd

    Fuck off.

Yes. The song is full of faux 80s "depth" which is now shown to be shallower than a midget's bath tub.

But to say that this guy is not an amazing guitar player for singing this abomination? Well, let's here you fucking play. Self-internet-armchair-general righteous wanker..

  • @jazzx251 hehe midget's bathtub

  • Benson rules! Whitney's version is also great but Benson somehow sounds more authentic - and he has managed to maintain that attitude it would seem - as opposed to Houston (sadly)

  • the wicked one tries to get tender but he still tears a hole in your speakers..

  • The Class of class-Great work maestro!!

  • allaallaaaaa..a voice between nat king cole ve stevie wonder nasil olur yaaaa tabiki he did become an r&b superstar..hayde hase..spaten rüberreich!!!!!!

  • effortless.

  • He should have stomped his feet and screamed out Sexual Chocolate!!

  • @klabkebash why? i mean this song cement bensons position as a jazz crossover star.

  • @JuleEYELESS - Because Randy Watson made that song his own with the band Sexual Chocolate... They play so fine don't you agree?..

  • @klabkebash NO! Randy Watson does not have the requisite soul. Without soul, sex is niothing.....

  • so much talent is just a gift !this takes me far back in the years !

    love you GB!

  • "Learning to love yourselfit is the greatest love of all" Beautiful song with good lyrics

  • GEORGE BINSON COM TODO RESPEIRO EU PREFIRO COM A DIVA ROSANAH FIENNGO ELA ARRASOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUI
