Nobody cares about the engines. Let the insurance pay for them. He got the plane on the ground and everybody walked away, so who are you to criticize him?
It's obvious which group you fall into also if you prioritize saving the machine over concentrating on executing a landing tha saves the people on board

If you guys think Im so WRONG, then explain why the pilot DID try to kill the engines before before prop strikes but did not get it done. To claim that I or any pilot would not put passengers saftey before anything else is ridiculous. All I was saying is that good pilots save their passengers, a great pilot saves his passengers and minimizes damage to the aircraft.
Of course it's commendable the pilot minimized the damage to the plane. But I don't think it makes a pilot who doesn't any less proficient if he succeeds in saving his passengers. That's all I'm saying.
you are an idiot ever bother to think that things go wrong nothing is perfect he is a great pilot if you were a pilot you would crash before you ever got off the ground on your first lesson!
before he takes off, don't you think it is apparent his landing gear is in good condition? takeoff would be slightly difficult if it had been sitting in the hangar with the nosegear retracted.
it happens all the time... not the pilots fault. these planes are usually like 30 years old at least and dont always perform perfectly, even when everything seems normal during preflight... its a big problem with small ga retractable gear planes
Yes. I have studied quite a few. I just think a belly landing or gear failure landing is something a pilot should be able to handle. I guess the press blows them up with their live coverages and breaking news releases, over dramatises them. Thankfully the pilots featured on Youtube with these emergency landings have all had safe landings and walked away.
LMAO!! That was a great landing, but watch it again...the split second the right prop hit's the runway the bird in this person's room let's out a screech like sound, and matches up perfectly. Too funny.
Cool landing and the pilot even tried to avoid prop strike. Left engine was stopped before touching the runway, right engine already was in an idle mode, almost standing still; minor damage to the engines, I suppose.
I like 172s myself but never been much on twins that can't fly on one they don't tend to glide like cog aircraft and expensive to maintain, nice landing though nice touch
wow

Imagine how many people died in automobile crashes during this. But no one cares about them, they don't get a dramatic story on the 9' o'clock news.

Is it a 310 or a 320 Skyknight?

Its a 310
FlyFast310 2 years ago
@king7wood the 310 and the 320 are basically the same plane escept that the 320 has turbocharged engines.

@marco21falcon
You are inaccurate, The C320 is a stretched version of the 310.

If he were a great pilot, he would have killed the engines WAY before he did. Port engine was Ok. Starboard needed a complete teardown.

if it was in good condition, why did it break?
pilot should have inspected better. pilot=fail.

Belly landings, wheels up. Kind of routine to watch now are they not? Does anyone even spill their coffee?
Plane comes in slow, there are a few sparks, plane stops. Every one says "wow" what a really great pilot he was. Ho Hum......

ddrummerboi 3 years ago
Never, but if I was a pilot I would not expect to have my license if I could not do a belly/gear damaged landing.
Show me one belly/gear damaged landing that has resulted in a fatality or injury please??
ALAJOHNSTONE 3 years ago
Be happy if you can find me a gear damaged, belly landing at a controlled airport that has resulted in injury or fatality.
Do not get me wrong I do not want to see someone hurt. I just want people to see they are not that dangerous. Find it!!!!!
ALAJOHNSTONE 3 years ago
Hello Tom, I am not having a dig here.
Did you ever hear of a belly/gear damaged landing at a controlled airport where the pilot had time to prepare for it, that ended in an injury?.
ALAJOHNSTONE 3 years ago
I'm not against you. I think you're right. I'm just saying how funny it is that you wrote it on every video.
tom888uk 3 years ago 3
Hello Tom, I saw another one of these on CNN yesterday. American Airlines, came in on a blown tyre. I did not even see smoke as it landed safely..
I hope we can relax if we are ever told we are going to have to do a belly landing.

A good advertisement for a high wing twin, no worries about prop impact on the runway on an emergency landing! =) (Great landing btw)

that is why I do't like cessna 310s. That nose gear looks so delicate.

I've known 3 different 310's that are (were) flown out of grass strips... with no problems.

Nope, both props touched the runway. The insurance will have to inspect both engines.
