Im having problems with Gta 3. it simply does not run smoothly, and is really laggy when i drive. Im running a window 7, 2 gb ram intel atom 550 1.5 ghz (4 threads?)

and a intel 3150

and btw this is a netbook so don't expect 150fps

What gamepad do you use for project 64? And project 64 is the emulator for the nintendo 64 right?

I use a USB gamepad from walmart of undetermined brand and yes, project 64 is a nintendo 64 emulator

Nice videos btw.. gonna buy myself an Acer, or something like it for schoolstuff, but also wanna use it to play games when im bored, at the buss and stuff.. do you recommend this? and is it hard to install things? or is it easy if u just got the files OR an external Cd-drive.?

1.6 runs at around 60 fps on my net book, direct 3d, 800 x 600. Not smooth enough for me though (plus I'm a CS:S guy). its easy to use on a school desk or in the car (if you aren't driving). installing things is easy, just use daemon tools or get a USB-CD/DVD drive if you really need it. I don't use an external CD drive when playing all the games in this series of videos

ehm you can download games like a pirate from the internet lol.... but if you have a normal PC you just put tthe DVD into the computer and make an image with a free softvare called daemon tools lite... then you need a usb flash drive (you put the image one it) and the software on ur acer spire one... on the netbook you mount it with your daemon tools and its done!

you can also run these games... Warcraft 3, Halo (you can play Halo online!), Soldier of Fortune II, WoW, GTA Vice City, and AVP II

i know that, i just own many of the games, all I needed where no-cd cracks.

will NOT run on the lap top. company of heroes is REALLY CPU and GFX intensive RTS with the zooming. even a normal quad comp cant handle it

there is no GPU, the aspire one uses an integrated software emulated graphical support that is a part of some intel chips, like this one. in dhort, there is no physical GPU that can be changed, all acer aspire one moherboards even have 512 mb of ram soldered into the motherboard...

also, if it can barely run Halo, it cant run Halo2

Yeah, I saw the third video after I typed this. Sorry for my stupidity.

And, yeah, I did research and most laptops don't have PCI ports, so no video card upgrades.

I know it can't run the latest games, but it can run the classics at least :D. I think I'm going to go ahead and buy a Compaq laptop. It has better specs.

can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me how you got the games onto the computer? i've been searching EVERYWHERE for a external CD-rom drive but been hard to find one. did you like save all the info onto a external hardrive and install onto you acer by the hardrive?

its quite simple, if you dont have an external Harddrive install from a removable harddrive or large USB key.

I found that i could vopy many games files from my PC onto their correct directories and just install a no-cd crack..

the easiest solution is to DL the games as no-cd cracks

i dont think that game will run well.

this system has much the same power as an eee 1000H and it wasn't able to run the game smoothly (9 fps).

it seems to be the textures, the aspire one can run CS:S without textures, but with textures the framerate drops from 30 to >10

Well, i would prefer the 6 cell battery for 5 to 7 hours of life, but it is also incredibly bulky and is easily seen sticking out of the netbook, but i dont mind as it also is somewhat like a stand to :P but the 3 cell for 2.5 hours of life and is completely snug inside it and not seen

I use the 3 cell; if i charge it during my computers class, it will last the day (on/off useage)

the 6 cell would be a must-have if you dont have the opportunity of charging during the day, i plan on getting one 3rd party sometime.

this laptop is also very efficent at sleeping!

I have an getting the 6-cell but mainly for roadtrips and i HATE the STUPID FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *&^%#^!!! IT SO LOUD! but i got a program to turn it off :) and, good thing you dont play the games on it with the added ram, because sometimes it may change alot.

your fan is faulty; a common issue with the aspire one.

return it for another if its under warranty, it only affects certain laptops. (it squeals)

ah CS:S, I'm a huge addict and would love to play it on this little guy, but the GMA 950 has serious issues running source based games smoothly. It can be done with 1 gb of RAM and notexture maps on DX level 7, but even then; your getting 30 fps at best. added onto that; there is only around >200 megs of my ram free at any given time with XP pro.

I dont think it will run well on the aspire one.

your better off installing CS 1.6

then I installed a nocd crack and copied all the cd music to the audio folder in the game dir (as instructed by the crack)

a good choice.

i didnt buy the xp version because for my intended uses of the laptop, i didn't need more than 512 mbs of ram. I also didn't want to pay for xp which can be easily installed with a usb connected dvd/cd drive.

the main thing thats worth buying in that laptop version is the 6 cell battery.

any aspire one is a good choice! i just wish i had mine in black. (oh and the linux they come with is terrible, feeble wifi support and clumsy interface)

How are the settings on GTA 3? All low? Some low some medium? etc? Native 1024x600 or stretched 800x600. I can't wait until I get my AAO! :D Also glad to see emulators running great. I'ma love me my portable N64, PSX, etc.
