Wow, no wonder I sat every Sunday night mesmerized as a teen watching this legendary icon sing and perform like nobody before or since...love the way she looks in this gorgeous dress and Judy totally nails "Hey! Look Me Over", making this classic all her own...Bravo Judy, love and miss you and RIP sweet soulful lady...
Judy was a SUPERB dresser! Once I get started listening to Judy, I can't stop. The last of the big belters and the studios and the big wig TV guys, raped her. I agree, edehin, what a monster of beauty, nature and talent. I love Judy Garland and I can't imagine anybody not feeling the same. Judy Garland is and was one of Gods ' greatest gift to the human soul,
Listen hard especially to that last note; flawless. Timeless too. No other female singer has her originality, her intelligence, the way she projects a song. She doesn't just sing, she emotes every mood associated with the lyric; feels it. Her phrasing and timing are impeccable. This clip could have been recorded yesterday - that's how 'hip' Judy was. Another masterclass by JG in how to perform..
Good for you, hirchik !! I agree with you wholeheartedly ..Judy Does deserve much respect and admiration for her overwhelming talent, not only as a singer but as an Actress, who SHOULD have WON for, A Star Is Born !! The WORST Oscar Blunder in it's sad history of stupid Blunders..that one was the most ridiculous ( most people realize she was robbed !) I am so blown away by her it hurts..she is just in a class by herself ..no other name can compare ..not Streisand, Sinatra or anybody else...xo
Oh I'm sorry. And yes, unfortunety, she was hooked on meds. which made her ( im guessing ) age triumphantly, as she is only in her early 40's here. ( died 47 ) .
I think it is about time that respect was shown to this performer. I am so tired of reading comments about Judy, referring to her looks, her alleged dependency on drugs, booze, her hang-ups etc etc. She was a human being, with all the frailty of one living her life in the public spotlight since a child. Her appearance latterly, of course, is something we're all aware of. But her talent is there to enjoy and admire. Let's celebrate her legacy, her gifts; she at least deserves that. Thank you Judy
Judy must have really liked that dress too - there are photographs of her, taken a year or two after her show ended, wearing it. One of the photograhs I saw was in colour and it more fully shows what a pretty outfit it was. I'm guessing that some collector might now own it - a lot of Judy's personal items have been auctioned off over the years.
it,s the same dress she wore for a concert she did here in Sydney

They are poppies and the color pix of this outfit are out of sight...designed by the great team of Agahayan and Mackie.

i love her performance and the ladybug dress!! it's definitely my favorite dress of all she wore on her show
paisajf09 3 years ago
I thinks her dress is covered in orchids or poppys. I forget which.
But I do know its not ladybugs. =Þ
mikeinfla 3 years ago
you're right! it's poppys, but the first time i saw this dress i thought they were ladybugs and i still refer to it as the ladybug dress ;)

The dress is the first thing I noted... "Dress! Oh, and it's Judy!" Maybe it's because it's in black and white, but it's fantastic!
