  • Present day Belmont: They... they sparkle now?? My fore-fathers had epic battles of strength and courage against the Prince of Darkness and I.. get this????

  • This is when the NES says "It's about fucking time nintendo shoved shit into my port with good music lol thats what she said"

  • @DragonBallUnlimitedX The NES is older than 13 so it wouldn't use that stupid ass joke.

  • Castlevania vampires fought Simon with fangs, and sucked blood. The new vampires now fight using 6-pack abs and suck cock instead of blood.

  • this shit goes hard

  • Thumbs up if you think this sounds 10x times better than the GBA version!

  • PERFECT SONG

  • HES AN EXPERT WITH A WHIP

  • Hey, there's a problem with this video. It ends at 2:13.

  • @crotchshot101 yep,i actually reported to youtube,but i am awaiting an answer.

  • It seems konami makes the best video game music of all time!

  • Why did you add an echo?

  • i remember me cracking my head trying to finish this game when i only was 5.... the most hard castlevania i ever played

  • This and wicked child are my favorite tunes from this magnificent game :D

  • Why this song isn't a lot remixed like Vampire killer or Bloddy tear? Heart of fire is just a masterpiece, a classic of Castlevania. o_O

  • This song renews my belief that the best game music composers are women.

  • @bordertown so a lady composed the castlevania music?

  • @Normansmight Yep. That lady also composed music for several games, including Megaman X2, surprisingly (surprisingly as in the difference of the music in Castlevania and Megaman X2).

  • @Zoroark7 dang well i have to agree with you! (i got how you meant suprisingly :) lol!)

  • Is it me, or can you do the 80's robot dance to this particular track??

  • Goddamn Death. Had me on this stage for 3 hours. D:

  • I remember I always loved this level! The two Igors jumping around in the start of game looked like they were dancing I thought it always went perfectly with the music!!! It was sooo COOL! Oh not to mention the scary torture devices in the background and the red skeletons with the pipe organ music! The whole level is like some brilliant horror movie come to life!!!

  • The composer was a genius.

  • @SummonTheNight haha i tend to agree with ya

  • @SummonTheNight She's also fairly hot. No joke.

  • i like the poster.

  • am i the only one who thinks 0:34 kind of sounds like the beginning of bloody tears?

  • @LotsaSpagetti1740 No, you are not alone, the reason why they sound similar is because they both involve playing a fast sequence of notes with the second note always being the same (in guitar this is called pedalling).

  • Amazing that a NES sound chip could play this epicness!

  • This song fits perfectly for a Nes battle between Conan the barbarian vs The Joker

  • : 3

  • I don't hear this song very often because I've only beaten Frankenstein twice

  • The Grim Reaper drives me bonkers. That guy is so friggin hard!

  • Which one was this? I remember that it was an extra in Order of Ecclesia... but I don't know what the original's from......

  • @TOTtomdora The original, bud. Learn your roots.

  • play this at the same time as the Aria of Sorrow version

  • @albertlouisher i did and it sounds freaking epic

  • I never did beat Death. Pfft! Great theme, though...

  • anyone else sing to all these song while playing. People would talk to me and i would simply just sing the responses back to them

  • THEM THIGHS

  • This is the best stage in the game, by far.

  • I never heard this because Stage 4 was WAY TOO HARD!

  • @armchairmaster - It gets even harder in Stage 5, unfortunately. That's mostly due to the presence of the Grim Reaper as a boss.

  • @Fatcatnevercameback >implying you cant trash any boss with holy water or clock.

Those 2 hax items paralyzed anyone (even bosses) leaving them ready to get killed. Clock spends 5 hearts, tough, so holy water is the best option.

The difficulty of this game werent the bosses, but the damn controls and the medusa heads.

  • You know, the reason we all probably love this song... is because the first time through CV1 we all probably heard it the longest out of all the music... because this stage was FRIGGEN HARD!

Darn that corridor leading to Death. It was rediculous!

  • 3 people doesn't know WHAT IS A MAN

  • @Tsukiyomaru0 the man, my dear fellow, is a miserable pile of secrets.

but thats enough of this snobby conversation

I SHALL HAVE AT YOUR SOUL!

  • @Tsukiyomaru0

No, More like Edward and other Twilight weak-ass vampire try to hunt even more innocent human for blood.

  • @Angsc09 The modern vampires are pussies.

  • @KakarottX Except for Alucard from the Hellsing series. He's badass.

  • The base line at 34 secs is just so goddamn awesome. This is by far the Song I remember most about Castlevania.

If you were lucky, you could beat Frankensteins Monster pretty fast and then Death. Like, literally. Death comes, beats you and this awesome musik repeats.

  • It's all about 0:34

  • @Veke99

    Aka the Bach-inspired melody. :)

  • @DarkDruid7 the first church inspired melody in the series. Makes me think of all the songs in the game...what a long path......

  • @Veke99 0:34 seems to have influenced the music in castlevania game after.

  • @Veke99 What an attention whore. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Three dislikes eh. Probably stupid teenage girls who are Twilight fans.

  • @TheNewEmphinix LOL! Sorry bitch! No thumbs up for you! I know how you must have wanted them so badly, but now you can't.

  • @cartrifride I'm now going to thumb TheNewEmphinx

  • @MetalSamehada um ok. why would you announce that? why would you indicate your faggotry so clearly?

  • @cartrifride to annoy an idiot, why else?

  • @MetalSamehada HA! thats a good one X3

  • The Death is so close! Damn! No more hearts for the cross boomerang! uuuUUUAAAaaahhhhhhhhh......

  • Heart of Fire? Talk about heartburn! (ugh...)

  • record 5 lolz

  • Just love the old musik!!!

  • Where can I find this song?

  • @Fregler You can find it when you play Casltevania!

  • @Fregler here, lol

  • @manofmovie ok that was actually funny..

  • I loved the one in Aria of Sorrow. ^_^

  • zdaemon

  • This is the only non-"everything is horrible" music in this game, and yet it still fits so well. Just shows how versatile game music designers were with such limited software.

  • i found it strange how you got weaker the further you progressed, in stead of gaining more HP. well, i guess its better then konami just spamming more monsters, i dont think i could take on 2 fleamen at the same time.

  • My favorite Castlevania song!

  • ever since i beat this game i always wanted to learn this song on guitar, and now i can now that i know the name.

  • Nah, this theme is too badass for Chuck Norris. When he listened to this song, overwhelmed by it's epicness, his head instantly exploded.

  • This music rules.

  • if you say so

  • Chuck norris was the composer of this song... lol bad ass tune amazing...

  • I love the version of this song from Aria of Sorrow, but I'm glad I got to hear the original version. Is this from Castlevania 1? I never got past stage 3 in that one, lol

  • I just heard the most epic video game music ever to grace any console.

  • this tune is ALMOST, almost, as good as bloody tears.

  • wait i logged out and in again and suddely the star rating system is back

    hooray for glitch

  • Transylvania, or at least its north-eartern part with "Partium" and "Székelyföld" should be its own country, much like Kosovo.

But it's kinda off topic I guess.

On: The game and this song is fantastic.

  • @19Szabolcs91 Don't start a discussion like that. How would you feel if someone from Austria would claim that Hungary is still a part of Austria? Or if someone from Turkey would claim the same thing?

  • Best.Game.Ever

  • Funny thing: Transylvania is in Romania, but in this particular country this game received little if any attention back in the day (no commercials, no nothing, hell, we wouldn't even know of it's existence if it weren't for wikipedia, youtube or SDA).

BTW, this song, along with stage 3's BGM are addictive as hell.

  • @cnh2132 Yeah, but the game is played in Wallachia, not Transylvania.

  • @Krisipoke Wallachia is south of Transylvania and it is a romanian territory as well (it was by this name that Romania was known from 800 untill 1600 A.D., afterwards it was given the name "Romanian Land" until 1859 when it was united with Moldavia (a small region west of Transylvania)).

  • @cnh2132 I know where it is, I'm Hungarian. I'm just only saying that everyone thinks these games are played in Transylvania, when they are played in Wallachia, actually. It's funny at the beginning of CV64 says Wallachia is a part of Transylvania...

  • @Krisipoke WTF then that DOES mean the games play in Transylvania

  • @Mahdino No, because Transylvania and Wallachia are two totally different places. Sure, they are next to each other, but they're still two separate places.

  • @Krisipoke Oh thanks for clearing that up.

  • This is no wonder, because the NES wasn't available in the Eastern block (f-ing soviet regime), so until the early 90's pretty much nobody knew about it.

  • It took me about 8 or 9 months from the time I recieved Castlevania 3 to actually beat it. I never beat this first Castlevania, the one time I beat the Grim Reaper was by having infinite lives using a game genie.

  • too.... damn.... CATCHY!

  • i love this song... played the game 15 years ago

  • The Hyrule field theme of Zelda 1, Minish Cap and Link to the Past (OoT and TP Hyrule Field themes are different songs). It's also Termina Field, and Holodrum and Labrynna Overworld.

  • Termina Field is a darker version.

  • I'm serious, this is in the top 5 best 8-bit songs, just after the Zelda theme and a few select Final Fantasy songs.

  • beautiful game.

  • give us mp3 link!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gazzump youknowhat com dude

  • I remember playing game when I was young, I couldnt ever get past the Frankenstein monster. When my older brother beat Frankenstein and I heard this song for the first time, I was in awe. This song is awesome

  • This is official my favorite theme in Castlevanai. I really have to thank Julius.

  • This is my favorite theme from the first CastleVania game. WIN!

  • Dracula's fireballs are aimed at your position when they're fired.

Jump over them as soon as Dracula opens his cape and whip him.

of course, i'm sure you're having trouble with his cheap shot teleporting. Just keep moving.

for his second form, use either Holy Water to freeze him in place or a boomerang (which you can Triple Shot by using the stairs to respawn the candles)

  • Holy water kills the knights instantly. The challenge of stage 5 is keeping the holy water, since you only get it once at the very beginning.

  • Oh, lawl. Didn't see your other comment. Well yeah, Dracula's a bitch. But you can try to push Pause often, during the first battle. Then, at least, he can't surprise you with his goddamn teleporting shit.

  • @Metromania12

Holy Water is your best friend. Just keep throwing it at the knights while you dodge the Medusa heads. Then do the same with Death, it'll keep him stunned til he dies (if that makes any sense).

  • i dont care whether he lives or dies.

    xD

the point is, i can go on to the next level

  • I don't really like using the holy water in that stage. The Knights have a simple pattern and most of them disappear if you do a correct pattern of movements. I use the cross its useful at the end point with all of them Medusa heads and knigths because of its longer range.

  • Oh, but Holy Water + Triple Shot makes Death so much easier to deal with... Especially when you can hit him with the flames before he lands when he appears.

  • True, but I find the cross more efficient I tried the holy water many times and failed, but when I used the cross for the first time. I beat him.

Because destroying the sickles gave me the double and triple shot jumping at the right time(when the sickles are about to move) and throwing the cross you can destroy them all or just a few remaining giving you a chance to throw the two other crosses at death and whipping a few times.

  • Lmao, that's pretty sad cause Holy Water literally kills him before he can ever attack.

  • not really, developing a non generic strategy still works.

  • @Parkerkun DUDE, I LOVE YOU

For the first time in 30 FUCKIN YEARS, I KILLED DEATH(Sounds ironic).

  • i also accidentally switched Path of Radiance with Portrait of Ruin. PoR is the biggest factor. strange eh?

  • This is so much better in high def.

  • This brings me back many years, love it

  • This is the Orignal Track

  • it's sped up

  • lol!! this was on the new castlevania!! it was a bonus track that you had to buy. the game's called castlevania: order of acclessia. (sorry if i spelled wrong :O)

  • its Ecclesia, and its a terrible word. and the whole game is just uh, so not-castlevania. No whips, instead some glyphs... not a fan. Dawn of Sorrow was much better.

  • I agree, but Path of Radience was better than that I would have to say.

  • I would agree. It was an awesome game. Not sure what it has to do with Castlevania though.

  • I think I meant Portrait of Ruin, but it came out wrong.

  • That would also work, and make more sense.

  • I didn't like Ecclesia much... I can't quite put my finger on what it was lacking... But definetely the songs were not memorable.

  • it just was

  • a underrated song =( but the version of aria of sorrow is one of the best castlevania songs ever

  • Have to disagree. The Aria of Sorrow version does not have much focus on the 0#34 part. Which in my ears make the song what it is. Brilliant. :)

  • maybe not, but the Aria Song is like a epic battle to fate and this is just a walk =O

  • You have a point there, but then again, this is as good as 8-bit music goes. It's fair to say that they could have done more with the GBA.

  • agreed, the Aria Of Sorrow sounds like just a Copy/paste of two songs, hope the make a remix in the Lord Of Shadows =O

  • Wouldn't count on it. It's being calld a ''reboot'' of the franchise, so I woulden't be surprised if 99% of the songs were original. But even if this one makes it or not, lets hope for a fully orchestrated soundtrack, and lots of eerie organ playing! :)

  • yes.BUT,it's better.the AoS remix is actually one of my all time favourite boss battle themes

  • @RandalfElVikingo i think AOS was the worst one i've ever heard.

  • @Diesblood because you like twilight...nah is ok aria of sorrow like me a lot but i cant blame you =/

  • ugh! this level was SO hard!!!!! I never got to beat Death.

  • just as soon as you jup onto the middle platform trow holy water to the right platform(death spawns there) and repeat the process(jump, throw holy water).

  • Get the II or III upgrade and make sure you have the Cross. Just spam Cross on Death to combo-damage him and avoid the sickles.

  • Have boomerangs and ability to throw three at a time, that's how I defeat him.

  • I've never tried cyperium's boomerang method, but I'm a big believer in the holy water method - if you time it right, he never hits the platform and the sickles never materialize; if you take him out like the Egyptian Air Force in the Six Day War it's much easier :)

  • good one man

  • I thought this one was originally from AOS... I didn't saw the resemblance with this one. Great tune...

  • Simon

  • I don't see why you got tagged as a spammer so many times just then... It was an honest question, no?

That'd be Simon in the picture. Richter Belmont didn't come into the picture until "Rondo of Blood" for the PC Engine system in Japan, the sequel to which is the all-time favorite, "Symphony of the Night" (called "Nocturne in the Moonlight" over in Japan). Richter's first adventure was released in the US, at long last, with the "Dracula X Chronicles" Castlevania collection for the PSP.

  • The best stage music ever

  • agree completely

  • My second favorite song in Castlevania, next to Vampire Killer.^_^

  • Definitely one of the best. Absolutely loved the make in Aria of Sorrow.

    Second up is Reincarnated Soul.

  • My favorite original song is Wicked Child. This one is right behind it.

  • Ditto I think this one would sound perfect as a boss tune

  • and it does, it is used in a special battle in aria of sorrow :)

  • God that's such an awesome boss fight too.

  • You're fighting the legendary Belmont, the hardest boss in the game, and he has a Grand Cross that starts taking pieces of the castle out. How wicked is that?

  • and he was not even using his entire strenght... at the age of 55.

  • Scaring

  • Meant the GBA, not sure if its used.

And I'm referring to a fight in Aria of Sorrow, the one after the fake final boss (you have to have the Fire Demon, Giant Bat and Succbus Soul's equipped to continue the game)

  • Ahh, the obligatory Belmont for a CV game. (and if you don't know who I mean then it can't be a spoiler. If you DO know who I mean, you've probably already fought him)

  • And then in the DS its played for one of the hardest, most epic Castlevania bosses ever :)

  • this has on castlevania order of ecclesia when you finished your mission and buy at the store and there thres are many classics songs

  • Quite possibly the best 8-bit track ever created.

  • All remixes r suck...classic 4ever, dont you agree?

  • Heart of fire for aria of sorrow was amazingly remade, and well modernized.
