That is not a 50 cal the 50 cal bullet is 5in long that was a 30 cal witch is about 3in and the gun does not look anything like a 50

@GDMFSOB13 Actually the caliber has to do with the diameter of the bullet... a .30 is about .30 of an inch across, a .50 is half an inch across.

@GDMFSOB13 The numbers don't mean the length but the diameter, a 50 cal bullet is actually very small since it needs to fire a shit load of rounds in a short amount of time. If the bullets were big the gun would overheat to fast. the shells tho are average size.

@FenrirLupus No, I don't think it is possible to contain a 50. cal firing mechanism in a m1917 housing box (?not sure if the terminology is right?). The housing box (?) for the 30. is only 14.52 inches long, a 50. cartridge is 5.45 inches long. and anyhow, look at the ammo box he uses, it is for a 30.
