  • do you work for konami?? gimme a job!!@! hahah

  • Nice playing. I like the flow and the chromaticism.

  • man i wish i could play like this guy

  • Some very hip ideas in there bro. Nice sound as well.

  • I am very impressed--terrific phrasing, great lines--and bebop on guitar is HARD! I'd like to think that you're working steady and making good money, cause I've paid to see guitarists who couldn't come close to what you've done here. Post some more!

  • You are great, dude! Bravo!

  • Justice

  • Great playing!

  • nice!

  • excellent job!!

  • Sounds good, man. Reminds me a lot of Hank Garland's playing.

  • And great jazzstuff!

  • Cheers mate!

  • Cheers mate!

  • Cheers mate!

  • Cheers mate!

  • You sure play a damn high level, man!

  • they should do a guitar hero jazz addition......i could do that.....

  • Good my Bruzz ...!!!!

  • i heard some sick 4ths though!!! haha nice my man!

  • hey man so it looks like your linking a lot of your lines in 3rds? maybe?

  • nice...

  • Very tasteful!

  • Great stuff! Is this solo improvised or was it worked out beforehand? Looking into the 'Forward motion' book you mentioned :)

  • all improvisation is worked out beforehand! ;)

  • Could you tell me is this solo improvised or was it worked out before hand? I've been trying to do this sort of thing for years. Sadly a lack of talent is holding me back :)

  • Very nice! Inspiring. Thanks. I'm lifting things from your video right now! Thanks again.

  • This is some damn find playing mate. Very clean and rhythmic. 5*****

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Do you mind telling me which Aebersold book you got this from?

  • great playing! 5 stars *****

  • By the way, Motzart's dad was a world class music teacher and Motzart was his guinea pig, since the age of 2....

  • @mattclef ****Mozart

  • good stuff dude. nice lines, and great feel! you make me want to practice! keep it up.

  • Well Done. Lol, Mozart would have only been a 1 year old in 1757. But for a prodigy like him, he could've came up with anything at that age.

  • jail, ain't a "bad place to be" if you can't choose... depend what you've done, and from where you come from... anyway home it's better :)

    p.s. what's wrong with 1957? ... :)

    salut :)

  • great vid. man... you're a great player

  • Bravo sir, beautiful playing, this is the style I love, whether it sounds dated to some ears or not. People still like Mozart and his music is from 1757!!!!

  • The good news is that it sounds like 1957, but the bad news is also that it sounds like 1957. Find some Pat Martino, Joe Diorio, Pat Metheny, Allan Holdsworth, Frank Gambale, Scott Henderson etc.

  • watch out for Modes9 he's a member of the much feared Jazz Police. Everybody run, it's a raid, it's the fuzz, flush your be-bop stash, burn your 335's and be seen with a solid body or else face certain arrest!

  • BLAH BLAH BLAH...HE SOUNDS GREAT...Where do you think guys like Diorio got their chops from?

  • No. It sounds like tradition. Find some of that.

  • BLAH BLAH BLAH +1

I find Pat Metheny PAINFUL to listen to. That junk belongs on the Weather Channel.

  • You don't get it pal........

  • thats because you only hear 1 song.. or at least 1 cd.. he has 51 cds in leader form check them out... then come back talking shit about the top of the list players in the world

  • @Modes9 A fair remark, even if put rather ... ineloquently and disrespectfully. Frankly, if you're going to drop names like those, you'd better upload some of your own demonstrations to back it up. Better yet - video reply with a performance of theirs and explain why THEY do it so much better. : )

  • @Modes9 Maybe that's what he wants? Who cares if it sounds like 1957? From the sounds of it you sound like 1984!

  • What a good vid, man. I'm feelin' the bob lines, very smooth.

I have a vid of this song, it'd be sweet if you checked it out! It's not bad..though I'll probably never stack up to the likes of Hank Garland.

  • Really solid. There's definitely a great eight note flow (feel), which is arguably the MOST important thing any jazz musician can possess. As George Garzone put it, "Your time feel determines 85 to 90 percent of your career." You've obviously paid some dues...well done.

  • dope chorus, man!

plus the intro was all good!!!

  • continua cosi e ti farai un grande guitarist, complimenti

  • Great sound and playing. What have you practiced in the past and what are you still practicing? I'm sure a ton of stuff...but what gave you your bebop language?

  • Hey man, that was great. I've just started to learn to play over the changes of this song. I was wondering-- where did you get that play-along track you're using?

  • hey man tim told me about this video. you sound great man really tasty stuff. you should do a live version of this song with some of the cats from the con and record it.

  • Positives: Nice sound, nice feel, great sense of direction

Negatives: Everything sounded like something from another era. Check out: Larry Young, Joe Henderson, Joe Farrell, Woody Shaw, Freddie Hubbard, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman, Ritchie Beirach etc. If you don't own the Nicolas Slonimsky Thesaurus of Scales and Melodic Patterns, you may want to look for it.

  • brilliant!! I'm trying to play that piece, but somehow I'm missing something.. Have you got any tips? how about posting a instructional-video on bebop-guitar!? would be great!!

  • Get your hands on a copy of Hal Galper's book on forward motion... This will certainly help.

  • @smartwood11 Pick a standard and slowly arpeggiate ONLY chord tones for that entire piece. Do this in as many ways as you can, all over the neck .. Cover your ground, and find which movements work best. Transcribe the licks of your favourite players by ear, using slow-down software if you require it.

Remember, part of the reason the speed of bebop was sought is because guys like Parker could destroy tunes at SLOW tempos. You need to be able to do the same.

  • I think Your playing is very soulful.. Not just a bunch of notes that means nothing.. GREAT JOB MAN!

  • Great job. which particular bebop scale are u using? Major, minor, and in what key?

  • All RIGHT!!

  • i think i might have already posted a comment on this thing but man, im doin it again if i have. awesome stuff dude, get more up here.

  • Nice executions. A member of the master class. Great phrasing.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • I dunno if i like what you did with the intro/head yet.. but that's just me. But i'm still undecided.

Everything else i know was stellar. Good job.

  • i like it

  • respect

  • awesome, i dig it

  • nice work

  • Nice. You should mute the channel with the piano and just play as a trio with bass and drums. That piano shit gets in the way!

  • Yeah, the piano is a bit heavy.

  • nice konami shirt ^^

and the ibanez quitar sounds qreat too !

  • whoa awesome man I know a few of those kinds of lines but don't pull them off like you. hopefully with practice I will be able to execute how I'd like to one day!
