the 2488 was a total fail! all i want is a dp02(where its all laid out simply like a mixer) but just add 24 tracks 16 ins and motorise the faders.. it cant be that hard!
but all they've done is make the dp03! a bit smaller and harder to use than the dp02 and then discontinued the dp02 (one of their best products)! WHY! TASCAM WHAT ARE YOU DOIN!!!
yes the software on it could be simpler. I find its hard to get your head round the wave programming and such, and then making it into a file transferable to the computer, as we say in the UK it's a bit of a faff, so cmon Tascam simpler software!
ok how do you you get the songs onto your somputer as an mp3 or a playable file because all it gives me is some .001 filewhich idk what the fuck that is
The mics are on the wrong side...if you want to use them to record something you have to turn it arround to aim them in the correct direction...so the controls and the readouts are upside down...the 8 input one is great though...with this you might as well just have a Zoom H2.
I used the tascam 414 analog for a year......Just ot this DP-004 Today and have tried EVERYTHING to simply record a track & its Tooo confusing. How do I record one single track step by step would sure help a LOT, plz, anyone? just get me started how to just record 1 track plz. Step by step if at all possible.
lol! he does look like Tony Stark. Hey if you or anyone else have any sites and tips or tricks for the Roland SP-808 Groove Sampler and the Roland-Boss DR-5 drum machine post up some more vids or comments. There aren't enough on YouTube. Thanks
Don't buy this product. I got it 2 days. The electric guitar recording not working and the Tuner is not working either. I thought my guitars are broken. I tried to fix and it ends up I broke my guitar battery holder and the output jack
This video is more like ads. Those salemen you know them!
At first I am very impressed, now it ended up so disappointed!
i bought this and i was wondering about sound quality. if i were to put two amps (one for guitar, one for singing) and basically just play and sing my song, how would the quality be compared to plugging in and recording seperately?
Second question, how can i add drum loops to the recording?
How is this for recording vocals? Can you upload a CD music track on this device and sing over it? I hear that this device has mastering and mixing capabilities as well. If that's the case, then I will never enter a recording studio ever again and I can do m own recordings without having to book any studio time. If anyone knows, please fire off a reply to me! Thanks
... try both ways and see... if you just use one mic for the guitar and vocals you'll have a single track mono recording... or if you use 2 mics, one per track, you'll have a stereo recording of both sources with some sound separation of vocals and guitar depending on placement of mics... may be better to record each sound source separately... you can the mix/pan each signal which is where the real fun starts with these machines... I have a Zoom mrs4 that is similar... hope this helps.
I have the TASCAM 4 track Analog w/cassette & it does good but sometimes you can hear tape hiss ..For those that have used this Digital one ......Hows the final sound quality??? and I have Yet to learn the Pan,Bounce stuff. Wish someone would do a vid stricly on Panning in detail. Panning so confuses me.
I bought this thing last january, with power supply. records well but i can't seem to find a way to get the files (not the separate tracks) to my computer. this guy says either wav or mp3. does anyone know a site or forum where i can find information? i read the manual front to back and again ...
yep is has two of them, very nice ones for good stereo recordings. Pretty nice and simple device, no flashy things, straight up good recorder and most important it has memory card slot, standard double AA batteries for easy replacement, and it records TWO TRACKS simultaneously, not only with the built in MIC's but two 1/4" standard music inputs. The others dont have that unfortunatley even though many have more features
I had one issue when I record the volume going into the unit is loud, but after it master records it's lower when you master play the song. I didn't notice it much until I after a CD and the volume was low. Then I have experimented a few times, each time getting a little better. If any one has any suggestions I woiuld appreciate it.
seems pretty straight forward. i might purchase one. i dont like the fact of the double A batteries though. they make it seem cheap. and batteries are a pain
This system suffers from latency as computer software?

very nice ,but the lack of LCD backlight is rather stupid....
then they say that it's 'to conserve battery power'. Make it switchable! People would rather get that and spend 20 bucks more!
